Save xy (cluster of 2 double 1array) data in a spreadsheet TXT file

Hi, I had this program simplified to save the data, that I am able to draw in a TXT spreadsheet file. In the original program, I receive data from an instrument, which gives me 6 data per hour. How can I get data, as shown in the chart?

Thank you

  • Sample of data written in a txt file

I have a program that monitors the 12 digital entry levels (DI).  A structure of matter within a loop shown ' at what level (up/down) 12 say should be.  IF the 12 entry levels are not what they should be then all levels are written in a text file with a time stamp and loop count.

My problem is with the number of loops.  When a level of DI is out of sync, wrong level, reading and writing on file express VI turned three iterations and three data points are collected.  It would be better to have one iteration per cycle that I can use that as a counter of how many times the event has occurred and use this counter to record a point of data instead of three in a text file.

My .VI and .txt file for an example of what the data of a sample is attached.

  • multiple columns when the data connection to a txt file

I am eager to write for different columns third example of a single txt file when recording data. Can someone show me examples of code how get 3 groups of data with several points, write them in their own columns and then go back and write more data points to the columns by adding the data... Please and thank you.

    Hi Tony,.

Here's a basic example to do so.

In newer versions of LV, you will find a 'write in the spreadsheet file' function which performs the task of the two functions to the right of the block diagram, but the version reported is more flexible IMHO because it allows to add easily the headers and footers...

  • Export form data to txt file

I have created a form in LiveCycle. I need to have the data exported to a txt file. Previously, I've created a form in Word and it imported in LC. If this form has been filled out in Adobe and saved, I was able to export the data in a txt file. The form I'm working on now that I created in LC (instead of Word). When I fill the form in Adobe, save and then choose export to txt file, no data export. I have attached two forms: one that works (Unit_5_Preparate) and one that does not (assessment_template_test).

    Thank you!

    Hello

It was a learning experience (no pun intended).

If the LC Designer form is saved as 'static' then you will be able to export the data to a text file. If the form is saved as 'dynamic' then you won't be able to export to text file.

See the file saved as static.

    Good luck

  • Impossible to get FF auto save .txt files as it does .doc files.

When I change the action in apply for a .doc file (IE open with... or save) it works. But if I try even for a .txt file it just opens the file and custom auto save it as a doc or rtxt file. Using FF 13.0.1. Windows 7.

If you set the pref browser.altClickSave Boolean to true on the topic: config then you can force a download if you hold down the ALT key and click on the link on the page.

  • How constantly write data in a txt file

    Hello
first of all, sorry for the bad English, but I have a problem to write data continuously to the txt file... I have a chart 2D with values based 2 sliders (sliders values) and some functions I want to interpolate the value by using the bilinear method... and after that the value of the sliders, interpolated value and the value of the closest points, I want to write to a file txt... for every 2-3 seconds perhaps, it would be ideal to be formatted as ::
    x y f f1 f2 f3 f4
    ..   ..  .. . .. .   ..   ...  . ..
    ... ...  ..    ...   ...   ...   ...

but... first of all I have a problem with writing data, because every time he deletes old data and simply write a new and it is not horizontal... I am very very new to this (it's obvious) and any help will be very grateful
    Thank you

Diane beat me to it, I made a few changes to your code, so I'll post it anyway.

As proposed, please go through the tutorials.

I added an entry to the worksheet at the end node just to show it can be done at the end so. Table of building on a while loop is not very efficient memory, but it's just to show you what can be done. If you plan to go this route, initialize an array and use the subset to the table replace.

    All the best.

  • load and save a cluster

I have a group of data that shows the tests failed.  At the beginning of the primary VI, I want to check if the file exists, otherwise create it, and if so, read it.  This file is going to be my cluster saved, indicating the tests that failed previously.

I use datalog open/create/replace and will have a problem with the elements of the cluster always becomes zero.

I also try to save the cluster in the file whenever a test fails.  This does not work either.

Is datalog sub screw the the easiest thing to use here?  Can I use anything other than a cluster?

    Thank you

In your backup vi, you must set the input operation to open/create/replace "replace or create.  The first time you write, the datalog is created and the data will be written.

After setting the operation to create your vi Save, I was able to run it and it created a file datalog.  So I ran the vi with an entry error load so that he says historical data.  The data corresponding to what I wrote.  There is no problem with the functions of datalog.

But there is a problem with your logic.  Why do you call an error if file exists?  When loading, you hope that the folder exists.  If your error cases are backward.  If the folder does not exist, why do you write zeros for the datalog?  Also, when writing new data to the datalog, you must define the operation to replace or nothing will happen and the new data will not be saved.

  • How to convert an array of string elements to a cluster with elements named different data types?

I'm looking for more help with the conversion of an array of elements of the chain in a cluster containing elements named different data types.

I am importing data from an Excel worksheet.  He is coming in LabVIEW as separate (channels) 3 tables: 1) Variable name, (2) three possibilities Int, double, String) data type and the value 3), with the clues in each table corresponding to a separate variable (I have about 180 variables to import).  My ultimate goal is to convert the string array of 'Value' in a cluster.  But I want the correct data type in the cluster and I also the elements of the cluster name to match with the string 'Variable name' table so that I can use the Unbundle based on the name in my main VI.

Please see attachment a Subvi for more details.  I did the size of the new items of tables 5 for simplicity.   I realize that labels property cannot be changed during execution and I don't think I need to do.  I just want to use the production cluster (mainly the unbundle by name) to help design my main VI.  I will need to 'read' and 'write for' the cluster during execution, but I won't need to change the names of the items.

I was also wondering if there is a better way to import data from Excel?  Is it possible to import directly into a cluster immediately rather than put everything as strings?  I have attached a Subvi showing how I currently bring in data (found on the forum somewhere).  It comes as table 2D, which I divided into 3 separate tables that I mention above.

I am open to any suggestion.  Thank you very much.

    -Mike

Instead of trying to create a cluster, I think I would use only variant attributes.

  • Why Notepad saves no data on an existing notebook file?

Hello... I use Windows 8.0 pro and you notice an error with Notepad. When I create a file with Notepad and lets say later I want to add more data to the existing file and click on save after that I'm done with it, it wouldn't save it. If I click on save a pop-up windows will appear as if I had to click Save as instead of save, anyway I can not back up the data on an existing notebook file

A program that can change this folder could take full control total your computer to watch your screen, record everything you type or steal your data.  For this reason, this place is protected editing most of the running programs.

To change it, right-click on your Notepad icon and choose 'Run as administrator'.  Confirm your escalation of privilege by confirming the popup you see, then you can use Notepad to edit this file as you normally would.

  • How can I save data in a spreadsheet for a while?

    Hello

I have currently a VI that will connect the ports series 2 and use VISA to read data in an IMU and a RC transmitter.  Currently, I use around my loop shift registers to generate an array of all the values that I have read the serial ports.  Then when I finished the loop, I write all the data in a spreadsheet.

I want to change this code so that I can add a capture button, so that when I press the button (Boolean is true), the data will be saved and is not pressed the button data will not be saved.   I tried using the spreadsheet feature writing and activating the Add file option.  I can generate a file of text this way, but when I use Matlab to plot or post-processing on this file, the data do not come out of the right.

I enclose a smaller version of my program that will not connect to the serial port 1 and includes my attempt of saving data while the program and while the loop in the program is running.  I am also attaching a simple script Matlab to plot the data to check whether the labview VI works, I wrote and the graphic I get from executing a test case using my set up.

Please look over it and see if you can identify what is the problem.

    Thank you.

    Here's a better exp.

    Hello Gabriel

You can use the use wizard (Navigator > file > use wizard) to define a new filter to import file for your data. It will take only a minute.

Please find the uri of the file that I create for you. Copy the attached file in your disk, unzip it and double-click the file uri.

Then you can open your file by using 'open with '.

  • Problem with registration of data in the txt file

    Hello

    I have 2009 Labview, Labview real-time 2009 and cRIO 3.3.0. I also NEITHER cRIO-9024 more cRIO-9112 chassis and modules.

I would like to save the data measured modules in the txt files, but I want to do in a period of time to time desire. For example, I want to save data of measurements of 60 seconds and repeat every one hour. I of the project (in the file attachment vi) and normally it works fine but I noticed that the recording of the data is not correct. I mean it seams to save what was in the memory before. That's the problem with Windows XP I have check with another computer with Vista and it seems to be ok. It seems that on XP the buffer (refnum?)  is not clear and it retains the previous values.

Can someone explain to me why it happened and how I can obey Windows XP? Or maybe there are techniques to clear the memory buffer/refnum for rescue?

    Thanks for any help.

    Kind regards
