saving files between multiple tabs in the same race

Initially I thought that it was a simple question, I had, but I spent some time trying to fix it and I'm out of ideas.

The goal is to be able to record different tabs for a VI that controls an instrument, each tab is another mode of measurement. So, first I created a VI that I could press a power button and register a separate file for each press. I was able to do it without problem. Then I tried to add features to this VI to a tab structure. The goal is that I can press a power button and record a separate file for each press on one of the tabs (and in the course of execution, use each tab). However, regardless of what I have tried I can't seem to be able to save more than one tab at a time. The first tab of the race is functional, but then any subsequent tab is not.  I tried chaning the loop structure and how to write files, but nothing worked. I have attached a VI that displays the problem without the [extreme] amount of irrelevant information that has the original.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You can't wait to operate through different tabs in a single pass without a loop around the code. Programming LabVIEW is based entirely on the data flow and parallelism. It is incredibly powerful and has led to its success over the years (coupled with graphical programming), but is usually one of the first things the new developers stumble on. This is a simple resource to familiarize themselves with its functioning. The function to highlight execution is a great way to watch how your application uses data streams.

You must move your Boolean control within the structure of the event in the registry value correctly, and your code will lock up since you have several structures of events separated in the case of the tab.

You won't like hearing this, but the tab control is incredibly dangerous because you can easily lock your code. What that means, ideally, you don't use control tab for appearances or subsections of your code you want to operate differently depending on whether the tab is selected.

One of the first applications I made, which I was so proud of, had a tab control serving of main container for code inside. It worked fine for a while, but I found I duplicate a lot of code and then sometimes it would not close, so I have to throw the code to extinguish a fire after another.

Notice how your tab case all look the same with minor differences depending on the boolean type and the measurement? This means that if you make a change because of a tab, you'll probably end up wanting to make this same change to all the other tabs and now your workload is tripled for a change.

Look in the Computer of State Simple model that comes with LabVIEW. It really is the best way for new developers to get familiar with LabVIEW using a semi scalable architecture.

Here is a large example of the works of a state machine:

  • States: Init, slowed down, exit, DoThing1, DoThing2, DoThing3
  • Each State contains code that could take some time. Ideally, not too long because this is how long your code might not meet.
  • The idle state contains a structure of event for all of the user interactions.
  • The front panel has a button that says "do the 1 thing.
  1. Loop iteration 0: Application starts, the first State is Init. Init State made the initialization stuff and tells the application to go to the idle state when finished.
  2. Iteration of the loop 1: request goes to the idle state. He's sitting there, waiting for the structure of the event.
  3. Time passes, and then the user presses the button 'do 1 thing ". There is no code or minimal code, within the occurrence of the event. The output of this state of the event tells the application to go to the State of DoThing1.
  4. Iteration of the loop 3: Application passes to the State of DoThing1. Here, there is code that does a few things. The output of DoThing1 State tells the application to return to the idle state.
  5. Iteration of the loop 4: Application goes to a State of rest where he waits again to the structure of the event.
  • Each State can tell the application to go to any State they want. You want to reset? Return to the Init State. You want to put an end to the program? Go to the exit State. You want each State to start another (such as a sequence)? Have DoThing1 out of DoThing2, which DoThing3, which outputs Idle.

You can have a different status according to the types of measure do you use and the selection of the State may still be governed by the tab control.

  • How to switch between multiple windows in the same application?

    Hello

I use OS X Capitan version 10.11.13 and I'm trying to find an easy way to switch between multiple windows in the same application by using CTRL + alt or different keys.

    Here is what I feel...

Let's say I have Outlook, Google Chrome, Safari, iTunes and apps 'about this Mac' open.

I open the new message window in Outlook and another Chrome window. I have therefore 2 separate windows in Outlook and Chrome.

With that, I'm unable to move the composition and the window main outlook which is so annoying. Let's say I want to read the emails by the prospect main window and transfer of the content of the compose window! The command + tab doesn't take me to the main window of Microsoft outlook! Even if there were the last visited / applications window. This constraint is not intuitive, unless it can be configured in the settings?

Strangely, I can't switch to the "about this Mac" window.

The work around is to use the function (F3) mission button and click on the window, that I want to use or click the "Outlook" application on the dock icon and choose the window in the list.

Does anyone know how switch between different windows in the same application by using a key combination or one another method other than listed above?

    Thank you

    Avinash

In general, an Application that can open multiple windows provides a "Windows menu" you can choose the window you want.

  • IMac is not able to share multimedia files with multiple users on the same computer.

We just bought a new IMac that we were very excited.  We have phones Apple and iPads, replacement and ten year with a new Mac old PC made since.

Now, the trouble begins. For more than ten years Windows had several usernames on the same machine and have been able to have a shared folder only for music, pictures and video that my iTunes program and others could acsess and share from several user names. This kept all in one place for new photos families by me or my wife and our 30 gigabytes of music that comes from our CDs was available at bolt of us. Now in train to implement on IMac should be easy but is impossible.  after transferring the music to my login information, it cannot acsess all files on my login. I am not even able to share or provide his acsess. I can move the iTunes folder to my shared folder. She can get acsess now but iTunes says that the library file is locked. I worked with care from Apple on the phone for that sold, but they believe it will not be possible without creating two copies of the 30 gigabytes of music for each of us. who would take more hard drive when it failed too.  Sharing is not any help. These files were before iTunes. I'm not pay 30 dollars a month to store in icloudcor use a google reader slow to the Internet connection when everything's fine here. Apparently Applow programmers do not believe in sharing of multimedia files between two users on the same device, even if a PC does that very well. My choice here is so far have duplicates of all the photos, music and videos loaded on the disc for me and my wife, charge all the media for an external hard drive which for some reason any all Apple programs will share, or return the mac to another PC that will be able to make several connections with sharing music and photos. Apple if you are reading this you are 10 years behind on that. Not everyone is born in the last five years and bought their music on iTunes to be able to use home sharing. Home sharing cannot help this. your applications should be able to be told to use the media files shared without import copies to readers of the user. I am very disappointed. Someone else has any ideas for that?  I have pictures, not iPhoto. I have a week more to be able to return it. I'm not interested in making a fake account that is always connected to share or maintaining of me constantly connected. It should have been easy, I had to be happy to play with new software.

Photos, iPhoto and iTunes libraries must appear on an external hard drive that is formatted as shown below to be used by multiple users on the same Mac:

So get a properly formatted external HD and move your iPhoto/pictures of her as well as your iTunes library.  This way all your iMac users can access and use both libraries.

An alternative to the external HD method is to partition your internal hard drive into two partitions, one for libraries.  It is formatted as shown above and be large enough to contain the libraries and allow the expansion of libraries.

  • Firefox open multiple tabs of the same site at the same time, why

some site that I visit - when I try to use yahoo or facebook, messaging - multiple tabs of the same pop up and open and bring me to this last open tab - never let me finish what I'm doing. Why is this happening?

I had this problem (when I opened Firefox, Facebook kept several tabs open, even when I was on other sites such as Google).

After you restart Firefox with modules disabled (via the Help menu Firefox), I enabled first of all Plugins, then the Extensions, on-to-one.

The problem is back only when I activated Facebook Toolbar 1.7.3 and disappeared when I disabled it again.

This extension has been updated on 3 August 2011, which is probably when the problem started to appear (worse gradually). The extension tries to integrate some utilities of Facebook with the browser, but it's something that I can easily live. If you are having similar problems, try disabling Facebook Toolbar 1.7.3

  • How can I disable the Switch-to-Tab function? -I need to open multiple tabs in the same place...

I need to keep several versions of the same site opened at the same time, and then switch between them... Apparently the Switch-to-Tab function will not allow this and keep my duplicated tabs become other Web pages...

You can turn it off by using the switch to tab no Add on more - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/switch-to-tab-no-more

  • How can I distinguish multiple tabs of the same site in the tab bar?

    Hello

I did some massive open courses online (MOOCs) and its been necessary to have several tabs open at the same time for the same site. I would like to be able to distinguish these tabs by being able to put a tag instead of the url of the site ('instructions', 'template', 'code', 'scratch', 'docs' etc. etc.) and/or a color code.

Does anyone know if and how this can be done?

    Thank you very much

Tabs of colors, but the author warns that it does not work with other tab-related extensions, you will probably need to continue to look for one that does everything you want:

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/ColorfulTabs/

If you can't find an extension of do-it-all, you can change the titles of tab with a userscript specific to this Web site. This is because the tab displays the text designated as its title page.

You could "hard-code" the list of words for each page, or you might have a script to extract information from the page, for example, the first main star or some other kind of predictable data. The script then insert your favorite as the title of the page and Firefox text displayed on the tab.

To see how that appears, to see if it would help, you could do this experiment:

On a web page that contains text of the pointless tab, open the Web Console using Ctrl + alt + k (Windows: Ctrl + Shift + k). Paste the following code in the line at the bottom next to the caret, and press ENTER:

    document.title="Magic!";

If you opt for a script written for it, you can try the forum calls on userscripts. org:

Ideas and script requests - Userscripts.org

Although some people are proposing small payments, that is not usually necessary to motivate people to help.

Let me give you a brief warning on this site, however: last year, many popular scripts have been duplicated and reposted extra code that hijacks your Facebook account. Be careful when installing scripts, check the comments, make sure that there is no reference to Facebook.

  • How can I transfer files between different users on the same computer

I set myself upward under a different name on my laptop father but necessary for the transfer of files from the original user (IE my father'd Office) to my new! How can I do this?

The following instructions assume that you want to have two users on the computer and you do not want to move some files from one user to another user.  If this isn't the case, skip the following and post a reply.

If the above assumption is correct, log in with administrator privileges or the user who currently owns the files and click Start > computer (in the list of the menu Start right under Documents, photos, etc.) and in the computer, double-click the drive where the files are located and then double-click on the 'Users' folder and double-click with the record of the original user and work your way to the files you want to move.  Leave this window open (and possibly drag it to the right of your screen until the mouse touches the edge and it automatically resizes to fit the right of your screen or you can resize it manually).  Then repeat the same instructions (start > computer, etc.) but the second time, when you open the 'Users' folder, navigate to the new user.  The two windows open you can now drag files from one window to the other.

(sigh) OK, it's an improvement, but it is not yet an NBS! I think it would take me less time to write code that is a NBS that try to explain more (perhaps an example is better here?). In all cases, your code still seems to be mixing the two Zip and GZip. I've never dealt with GZip and could not be disturbed from now just for this problem, so I focused on using the Zip classes.

    Try this code:

    import javax.imageio.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.util.zip.*;

    1) Create some random images.
    2) Store them to a Zip File.
    3) Restore them from a Zip File
Please study the code carefully, and note how in a single Java source of less
than 100 lines of code, it manages to achieve the entire demo.!

  • Sharing files between two computers in the same House

I have a PC running Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 and a laptop running Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007.   I would like to be able to use computers to update various files in Word and Excel, and then open the updates on computers.  Is this possible?  My PC is connected to my ISP cable and allows a router to my laptop computer access to the internet via my Wi - fi.

In another answer Ken_f suggest "a source online to centrally store the files. It's a way to do it, but not the only way.
Using your router, you can set up a working group between the two
computers (do a search on the web for info on how to do this) and share all
files or the files anything you want to share. Personally, I prefer
This method, since storing files online requires a certain
    security risk.

  • Sharing files between two users on the same computer in W7

I did the "shared" files, but they don't show up when the other user is on the computer. There is obviously something else must happen.

    Hi George Smiley.

Follow the steps mentioned in the links below to share files, then check if that helps

  • I use Thunderbird on multiple computers to the same gmail account but I have a laptop with little memory, so I need this laptop only to download a few files

I use Thunderbird on multiple computers to the same gmail account. I have a small laptop with very little memory and it runs out of disk space when it downloads all my folders. I would only download some of my file on the laptop, but keep all the folder on my other computers because they do not have problems with disk space. When I unsubscribe records in 'manage folder subscriptions' then he cancels his subscription on all my computers, not just the laptop. When I go to 'Properties' on the folder and sets 'retention individual police' these settings are not applied at all. What can I do?

All of the messages in each folder will appear in your message list. But this does not mean all the bodies of messages are downloaded, if you have properly configured the parameters of the disk. If what I described above stuck in your settings then Message body should be downloaded only 'on demand' when you click on each message.

To confirm this install the addon glodaquilla, which has a column "on the disk" that indicates if a message is on the disk. If you want, after you have installed the addon set Thunderbird to work offline, so it does not download message body when you click in the list of messages.

  • It is possible to switch between mode 'file separate globals' to 'share the same globals file mode' during the test run.

    Hi all

It is possible to switch between mode 'file separate globals' to 'share the same globals file mode' during the test run.

Or there is another option to use variables separated and shared at the same time for 2 parallel Sockets (ParallelModel.seq).

    Thank you

    Thank you

    I think it's useful!

  • Scan multiple pages in the same file on the computer

How can I scan multiple pages on the same computer file on my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus?  Currently, it will scan each page to a separate computer file only.  Scan a document and then when asked if I want to scan another page I say Yes and the scanner.  However, they still attend separate computer files.

    Thank you!

    Thank you very much!
