  AE makes pixels not vectors, so it's not possible.

  CC Yes after effects 2014 (and perhaps older versions?) had a feature that I really liked where if you have imported an illustrator (.ai) file into After Effects, you can change this file in Illustrator without having to re - import the file back into After Effects.   before I could have imported the mpeg-2 files in after effects cc made an update about four days ago and now I can't import mpeg-2 files. get only error "the file is damaged or not supported. I uninstall and reinstall clean cloth and complete works and it still didn't work. was tempted to buy online, but adobe says they feature is not supported on my area. I'm in Trinidad in the Caribbean and have an international visa card that still works fine with other purchases. Please help it is so frustrating. now, I can't finish my clip that works on.   After effects CC trial has expired?

  You are allowed to launch after effects CC once after the 30 day trial period is expired, but when you do one a bug exists in this State: MPEG2 files cannot be read or written.

  The only solution for this bug is to license after effects CC; e.g. a subscription. My apologies for the problems you are having with the payment system. As Rick says, please contact customer support for help with this.

  Hello!  I was wondering if someone could tell me what is the best for animation - After Effects or Flash?  The advantages and disadvantages of each, or something along thoes lines.  I looked at other threads, but they were rather dated (or simply unnecessary, list without reasons).  If it is useful to know, I would never do web animation and I'm already pretty familiar with After Effects in the motion graphics and Visual effects.  I also wonder which is more commonly used in the industry, and who would benefit me more in the future (job opprotunities, MICR).  Thank you in advance.

  Rick is correct. I used Flash and AE for the animation of the years and he is really not what you're trying to reach. Flash has advantages in my opinion you can put more assets on a layer in Flash where each asset requires a new layer in After Effects.

  If you do not use Flash, do NOT use video clips, use of graphics but it's 'old school', but when you export the result you can then import the swf file in After Effects and have the best of both worlds.

  As a host, I am often downloading animated GIFs to websites like dribbble and imgur. Animations are created in After Effects, but I always export sequences of images or AE quicktime files and open them in Photoshop to then export it as a gif. I would love to cut out the extra steps it takes to get a final GIF that is ready for download with the possibility to export directly to a GIF animated EI. So that's my official request for the feature to add to After Effects.

  I'm doing a banner web for an internet marketing company, so he has very specific requirements. We did it in After Effects, and I was able to export it to an FLV file and import to Flash very well with the SWF file. Now, I need to make the significantly smaller SWF file.

  is the flv almost 2.5 MB? If so, your only option to significantly reduce swf size is to load the FLV dynamically (which is not usually allowed with banner ads).

  I respectfully disagree on this point.

  You can put an AVI uncompressed in Premiere Elements and first Elements-, an uncompressed output AVI file but the video is compressed a DV while he is in the program so there is no way to avoid the issue of compression

  If we start with DV - AVI, there is a slight compression lossy, but meadow is natively editing this film DV - AVI. Now, if a DV - AVI export/actions, yet once, there is a slight compression with loss, but if they share export/Lagarith, or UT, there no loss, although there is compression. AE can work with the hardware without end loss, so no need to re - compress and no need to introduce the loss. When an export of EI (no ADL - Adobe Dynamic Link between AE & PrE), with a lossless CODEC, which IS converted to DV - AVI, when in PrE, but two levels of lossy compression have been eliminated in the workflow, and eliminating any compression that is frozen is my goal for the ultimate quality.

  The beauty of the Lagarith or UT, is that files are smaller, with uncompressed AVI, so other than the coding of the workflow porttion (the two CODECS are fast enough), the resources are greatly reduced.

  An extreme example of the use of compressed material is where we produce a DVD (CODEC MPEG-2, which IS highly compressed), and then uses that compressed material in a new project, once again for MPEG-2 for DVD output. If you can go from the elements, including the first MPEG-2 encoding, thus saving a level of compression, the qualtiy is much better. Again, this is an extreme example, and the DV/DVC CODEC in a DV - AVI is no where close so bad, because with MPEG-2.

  Additional steps are worth the effort? Only the user can determine that.

  Just my observations, when creating and editing intermediate files. For me, the advantage outweighs the coding time, such that the quality is also high, I can get.

• Batch replace files in After Effects

  I have a project that is a series of snapshots of time that has been edited in Final Cut Pro.  I used that I created (.cr2) original raw files to JPEG files editing.  I used to send the edit in After Effects (CS5) to do things that I can't do in FCP Automatic Duck and I want to replace the JPEG images with the color correction for raw files.  When I select multiple JPEG files in my project window, I can't replace one of the clips.  If I select a single jpeg, I can bring up the window replaced and I find myself with 2 options.  The first creates a sequence of images, which works for some of my shots (although I always put those in the composition, essentially a re-release of the song), but for many others, I do not use all of the images in the time or ignore some here and there.  I also mix the lengths of framework in several sequences, with the help of different lengths of 1s, 2s, 3S and 4s, etc., in order to have AE create a sequence of images from raw files does not work.  The other option is replaing each file one by one, but with thousands of images, it is not really an option.  I tried the script of the Immigration of aescripts.com but that is not what I need to do either.  I'm sure the solution is under my nose, but any help is greatly appreciated.

  You must run 2 research in the script.  The first to replace the file and the second to replace the file extension.  My problem was that I was replacing only the folder.  Once the script is done and you open the new AE project, it creates the files will be offline.  After that you relink the first file, AE does the rest, just like Dave suggested.  Aescripts.com Lloyd is very useful.
