Saving files to the Web browser

I do a plugin for windows which will save the files locally from PDF files open in the web browser.

I use the code to save my files below

PDDocSave (pdDoc, PDSaveForceIncremental, ASPathFromPlatformPath)

char *) lszValueDocPath), ASGetDefaultFileSys(), NULL, NULL);

here

(1) pdDoc is a PDF file open in browse

(2) lszValueDocPath is the path of the local system

The problems that I face are as below

(1) the code works fine on XP and Vista (UAC off) and it does not work when UAC is enabled

(2) the browser in which PDF file opens, as IE or Firefox hangs after save the file.

I'll appriciate help as much.

Thanks in advance.

You have a lot of questions here...

(1) you must build the ASPathname elsewhere and NOT online.  You must check for errors (in which case it fails) AND you need to release it after you're done with it.  In addition, you can consider using other methods to do this, since your method will not work for Unicode-based files names.

2) entry from the local file system browser, you do NOT want an incremental save - evolving to save the simple changes on an existing file, NOT the path to another (aka Save vs. Save As).

(3) UAC is a property of the OS which is designed to prevent EXACTLY what you are trying to do - move local web content without authorization of the user.  You must obtain the permission of the user (via the appropriate OS calls) in order to elevate permissions to allow this.

Difficulty of these things and you shouldn't have a fall.

  • problem with opening pdf file of the web browser

    I have Acrobat Pro ver 6 and Adobe Reader 9.1 on a computer.  When my user tries to open a pdf file from the web as it gets the following error message:

    "Adobe Acrobat/Reader that not running to view the PDF files in a WEb browser.  ADBE Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required.  Quit and try again. »

    What also happens is that Acrobat Pro 6 worm opens and nothing is there.

    I don't know why he received this message from Reader 9.1 is installed.

    One can shed some light on this for me.

    This user must have Acrobat and Reader on its system.  I understand that there are problems with having both.

    It has also set up so that any PDF opens using Reader 9.1.

    Thank you

    Configuration of your PC drive by default for embedded PDFs has become confused, because of multiple solutions of Adobe PDF documents installed on a PC.

    Solution 1:

    Go to start > run

    Type regedit, and then click OK.

    Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe

    Make sure that the correct default data value is set to the path where are installed the Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

    The default installation values are:

    "C:\Program 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe Adobe.

    or

    "C:\Program Files\adobe\acrobat 6.0\acrobat\Acrobat.exe" (not sure of this path.  Make sure that on your PC)

    If Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat is installed.

    Solution 2:

    Configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application.

    If you use Firefox to browse the web, you can change this setting in Firefox by clicking on:

    Tools > Options

    Click on the "Applications" tab

    The first item in the list should be "Adobe Acrobat Document".  In the Action list, click the drop-down arrow and select the application you want to read a PDF file in the web browser.  Click OK and you should be done.

    If you use Internet Explorer to view a PDF file, try the steps below.

    After you configure Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application, the browser starts the helper application in a separate window and displays PDF files within this window. Acrobat and Adobe Reader both include a preference that allows you to specify the Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application.

    To configure Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application:
    Start Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
    Choose Edition > Preferences.
    Select Internet on the left.
    Deselect Display PDF in browser using [Acrobat application], and then click OK.
    Quit Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
    The next time you select a link to a PDF file in the browser, a dialog box asking what you want to do with the file. If you select open, the browser opens the PDF file in Acrobat or Adobe Reader (request for assistance); If you select save it on the disk, the browser saves the PDF file on your hard drive.

  • can not open the file in the web browser

    Hello
    in 8.49 tools FSCM90 on Win
    I run an AE_MINITEST and he succeed but when click on log file I have the message Internet Explorer cannot display this page.
    This log file is physically (size 1 KB) on the reports node. I can open it with Notepad.

    What could be the problem?
    Thanks for the help.

    If the file has been moved to the report repository (ReportRepositoryPath variable defined in configuration.properties of the Web server), check if you have enough rights level operating system (perhaps different users are used in?). Also check the stderr/stdout on side Scheduler process and DSTAGNT files.
    In the end, stop the CRP, purge the cache and restart. Do the same on the Web server, if possible.

    Nicolas.

  • Note: The settings for this page are automatically saved in the Web browser cookies.

    I have a printer of C311a e-all-in-one HP Photosmart 7510.  When you look at the section of customizing built-in browser page printers, at the bottom of the installation of the list can be found this message:

    Note: The settings for this page are automatically saved in the Web browser cookies. If the Web browser cookies are deleted, these settings are lost.

    I would like to the file name for this cookie and can then ensure that this cookie is excluded from cleaning in the various tools that I could use for basic maintenance.  Thank you.

    I suspect that you gave me perfectly fine information.  However, given that this cookie file is not on my machine, determine why would come next.

    In fact, given the costs associated with this effort, profit generated over the lost time and possible third party website access to this particular cookie. all dictate that I have overcome this effort - for now.  I don't respect the time you have invested in answering my question, placing me in your debt in at least a couple of beers.  I want to thank you for the information provided.

    You can try a repair of your Acrobat installation. Maybe, at least it's a start toward a solution.

  • I was looking for where firefox downloads files from the web. Everything I can find is the download list window that has only a clear"" button.

    When I download a file from the web, I want to find it in the Windows Explorer window, but don't know where to look. (I use Windows 7 64 bit on an HP Pavillion laptop) Where is - this Firefox download files that it lists in its own small window of download, but you only allows 'Clear' the list, no copy or open, or move the file?

  • Unable to save the changes in the web browser.

    We have a PDF form that was created to allow users to fill out and save changes. The PDF file has been created with Adobe Acrobat 9 and our users use Adobe Reader X. When you open the document in a web browser (FireFox and IE), the shape can be modified, but said that only one copy can be saved locally. However, if they have everything first to save the PDF file locally without opening it in a browser, and then make changes, they can save it. Is there a setting in the web browsers to be changed?

    OK, this particular file is not compatible player, which means that Adobe Reader will not be able to save any changes once it has been filled. You said they can if they open the form outside of a tacit and web browser they used Adobe Reader 10. So, here are a few possibilities:

    1. they are indeed using Adobe Reader when you open the form outside the web browser, but the version of the form that they have enabled for reader. This means that the version they see in their browser is different from the version on their local system. This is probably not the case, but it is possible.

    2. they are in fact not using Adobe Reader when you view the form outside of a browser, but are using a PDF Viewer that allows you to save a document not compatible Reader. These listeners include Adobe Acrobat, the application on a Mac, Foxit Reader, Nitro PDF Reader and a few others.

    In any case, Adobe Reader is not able to save a completed form that has not been enabled player. If you just need to get more details to find out exactly what is happening.

  • Nexus10 version does not support pdf files in the web site.

    I have a new Nexus 10 and installed Firefox and the Epson Print software. When I go to the bath of Rockville and center of fitness, full screen, it will show me a button on the right side hourly. Click on that to start a download (it should just show me the contents of the file as does the true Firefox). If I go to the download section of Firefox, the download is listed, but when I try to do with the word app, it says that the file is not present. If I try to do with the Epson application, she argues that the application has stopped. If I go to epson print and look around, I can find the file and read it. But it's exceedingly complex.
    The same died of problem with crome, crome, but does not support full screen. This problem is not present on the ipad from apple with the web browser by default.

    in the original post, I am fearless "PDF viewer" as a name for a standalone application, and as I said in my reply, I installed this app. you suggested that what I needed was an Add on Firefox. I installed this add-on and could see page.
    I think you still have a bug in the download page, so that it appears not to pass the correct name to the app non-firefox that you want to use.

  • The Inbox in the mail application does not all the messages that I can see through the Web browser

    I have a similar problem with the Mail application on Surface 2. Inbox does not all the messages that I can see through the Web browser. I chose E-mail download of any time in the account settings. But when it sync randomly takes messages in the Inbox to display. I uninstalled the app, restarted the Surface and again installed in the Windows store. But the problem remains. It's frustrating. I think the app is not fully developed.

    His works now. I did the sync and other things with no results. Then I noticed that my missing messages are somehow appearing in the file of the Newsletter. Then, I moved all the messages in the Newsletter folder in Inbox and unchecked it parameters. It's working now. There are apparently some bugs in the software that allows for the Newsletter to divert messages. In any case thanks for checking.

  • My adobe docs won't open the reader... when I click on them they open automatically in the web browser, however, I can not view the browser either... help!

    All my adobe docs now appear as white dots instead of the ordinary red pdf doc that they used to appear as.  When I double click on the pdf doc, it opens in the web browser, however, I can't watch the doc of the browser either.

    Sounds like a file association problem; You must change the association for .pdf in Adobe Reader files.

    If you need help with that, tell us about your operating system.

  • Access files outside the web root?

    Hello, everyone.

    Hypothetical scenario.

    I wanted to have a file that would set globally accessible variables to contain passwords, and I want to put this file outside the web root, so that users can not access.

    Logical pathnames of course won't work.  And the cfinclude tag doesn't use physical paths.

    I've never done this before.  What are my options?

    Thank you

    ^_^

    Almost all your CFML files should not be in a directory web-driven!  That those people really are looking for should be accessible web.

    Files must not be accessible to be web - ed or be instantiated as objects, or used as a custom tag.

    FOR EXAMPLE:

    C:\webapps\myapp<= this="" dir="" is="" the="" root="" as="" far="" as="" coldfusion="" is="">

    C:\webapps\myapp\wwwroot<= that="" dir="" is="" the="" webroot="" as="" far="" as="" the="" web="" server="">

    C:\webapps\myapp\includes<= files="" you="">

    C:\webapps\myapp\api<=>

    The only things that should be dir wwwroot files people really browse (index.cfm, etc.) and components such as images, JS and CSS files that must be served to the browser.

    Most of your CFM files must be in a subdirectory of C:\webapps\myapp.

    So index.cfm must be traveled, and it must use the data in secretSecureStuff.cfm which is in understand this respectively.  Then index.cfm is just:

    include "/ myapp/includes/secretSecureStuff.cfm";

    If the file to include is not in the structure of subdirectory myapp for some reason, you can create a mapping in CFAdmin or Application.cfc to point to it, for example:

    /External. => C:\stuff\somewhere\else

    And you référenceriez C:\stuff\somewhere\else\outside.cfm via:

    include "/ external / outside.cfm";

  • Adobe Reader could not open the file on the Web site

    I already have Adobe Reader 9.0, but when I press on the links to the sites that have the "Adobe" file, I get this error message:

    "Adobe Acrobat/Reader that not running to view the PDF files in a Web browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Quit and try again. »

    The problem is I already have Adobe Reader 9.0, what do I do now? Should I unintall something or add something?

    Good afternoon.

    I have the same question in all of our network in the office. We run actually 3 managers PDF at the same time for various reasons, but the problem you are having is the same as what we encounter.  Most of the posts are on XPPROSP3 and IE7 Silverlight.  I met a procedure in another

    Forum who supposedly fixed this problem:

    Close all IE Windows

    Open Adober Reader or Acrobat

    Select CHANGE in the menu

    Preferences > Internet Options/settings >

    Deselect the PDF option in the browser

    Press OK

    Go back to the EDIT menu > Preferences > Internet category > choose PDF in the browser

    Press OK and close the application

    Restart IE and try to open a PDF file

    http://it.megocollector.com/?p=848

    The another suggested remedy is to run the repair facility of in Adobe. I tried the above and connected the reinstall/repair, repair Adobe as well as the Control Panel Add/Remove programs. It's a little more complicated in our environment b/c of the other PDF viewers/managers we use for various reasons.  Yet the research and tests for issue resolution. Try it.

  • Help the title in the web browser

    Hi all
    I use 7 HR and WebHelp output. I wanted to change the title of the label for the help who starts in the web browser. We use Internet Explorer as the default browser. Currently, the title of the tab is the same as the project name that is the same as the launch of help file. For example my project name is Help_RH.xpj and the boot file is Help_RH.htm. In the Help_RH.htm file, I can change the title of aid between the Help_RH < title > < /title > line but it will last until the next exit.

    Is there a method in RH I can permanently specify the title of the help that appears in the browser tab and don't have to manually change in the Help_RH.htm file whenever I generate an output?

    Thank you
    -Azi

    I just find the answer to my question. Title name can be changed in the file > option setting of the project. Sorry if I wasted all the time. Thank you.

  • What are the KEYstroke (s) used to CLOSE the current tab in the web browser?

    What are the KEYstroke (s) used to CLOSE the current tab in the web browser? I hesitate to use a mouse where can I use sequences of keys, as the mouse is a much slower process. Indeed, to find a list of all the main features that can be used in Firefox, for example ALT + S, followed by R (or several times) and the ENTRANCE used to restore the last browsing session; or CTRL + F to search for a specific word or term? Thank you.

    CTRL + W closes a tab at a time. It also closes a window if there is only one tab open in this browser.
