  Question 1 is a simple transfer of a single file.

  1. From the Finder, press shift + cmd + G keys to go to the folder. Copy and paste the following in this dialog box:
     ~/Library/colors
  2. The file has your stored color swatch is: NSColorPanelSwatches.plist
     1. On Yosemite, quit Word, Pages and other applications that use the Apple color chart
     2. Repeat step 1 on your machine of Yosemite
     3. Rename (do not remove) the Yosemite NSColorPanelSwatches.plist existing NSColorPanelSwatches.plist.old
     4. Copy the color swatch file El Capitan in Yosemite file location
  3. Launch the applications that use the color chart to see Apple El Capitan from swatches.

  Whenever I use the tool to work to redefine colors in Illustrator normal it shows just the colors of the selected artwork. It now automatically keeps showing groups of colors and rearrange the colors and their display oddly. When I click the pipette for "colors of the selected picture" it goes back to normal, but as soon as I close it and reopen it is goes back to color groups once again. Half the time, the colors do not yet exist in the work. The two background images are how its been looking and acting lately. The very last image at the bottom, this is how it was before the update. I use this 24/7 tool is incredibly frustrating, I know there are other ways to change the colors, but it's the quickest way to the type of work I do. Thanks for the replies!

  Click on the eyedropper in the top right to get the colors of the work.

  This is a workaround for now.

• Saving Spot PMS colors for libraries of clouds

  I started to create cloud Logos, etc libraries for linking my apps, but I get that when I create a new color watch in the library from a PMS Spot color, it doesn't give me a designation Hex and CMYK mix overall.

  Am I missing something?

  Be able to keep the PMS Spot colors for my clients would be a time huge saver if this selected this info; otherwise, do not know if this feature is invaluable for me.

  In fact, it seems that if I drag an art work (say a logo) with colors PMS Spot, it retains this info when placed in a new document, but I can't seem to get a PMS color saved as a sample to fill?

  You cannot save a shade of tones in a library, but as you already noticed it works when applied to a chart.

  I'm learning to use color.adobe.com. I know that the "Download" button has disappeared, so I can't download an ASE file.

  I can get a color theme of Kuler in my library, which is not the issue.

  What I don't understand how to get those colors in the swatch Panel. I could use a 3rd-party color picker app, but then, why even bother with Kuler and libraries if I choose a colors and their names in the swatches Panel, one by one? It seems that should be an easy way to directly transfer the library theme colors in the swatches Panel, but it's not obvious to me.

  When you're in your Office Adobe software - as long you have sync would be with the creative cloud - your swatches of color should be in the option menu libraries in the sub-category of the "color Themes".

  

  Once you read those, you can select the individual color just by clicking on each of them. And if you want to add to your color chart, you select just each color you want to add from your color themes and then click the 'New' button in the menu color chart to add.

  Unfortunately, it is not possible to delete the Favorites, libraries and group home of Windows Explorer, that's by design.

  Click the color group in the Swatches palette (i.e.: the icon of the folder to the left of it)

  

  Open the Panel guide colors and click on retainer to the library icon. Select library of patina to use

  This completely depends on the color management implemented according to exact output needs.

  If the results of Pantone may or may not correspond to your expectations. You'd better have a printed color chart on hand to compare.

• How Illustrator choose the base color when creating a new group of colors?

  I'm just curious on all selection and the creation of the Group color process.

  

  On the above document, I have 5 rectangles of the same size, filled with 5 different colours. If I type Cmd + A to select all, then go into the swatches Panel and click on "New color group", I got the color group marked as G1 in the image above.

  If I want the colors appear in the same order (G2 in the picture), making the left most red color as the base color, I must first create an empty group, and then add each sequence color myself.

  So I wonder how Illustrator decides what color take it as the base color?

  I think that it is the angle of the color first, and then S B or vice versa.

  Stacking order is not serious.

  probably, you work in a black and white document (in grayscale). go to image > mode > RGB color.

  Another possibility: you can work on a mask. Press ESC, and then go to go to layer > new layer and is if that helps.

  Hello, working in CS6, OS 10.6.8. I am working on a CD printing label 3 color screen and the colors will be a white background, more black and PMS color. I was recoloring CMYK illustrations to use in design and really liked the results to redefine (by selecting only black and spot color), until I noticed that when I selected "shades and nuances" he converted in all black in this process (I know that said adobe is why you should not select this option).

  But my question is, how can I achieve the same effect (that is, using tints of the spot color 'mixed' black) without having to convert the nuances to treat? I'm sure it's Super, but I am struck a big hole in my knowledge.

  Thanks to each of you for your answers. Emil method works for shades, but not shades (i.e. the spot + shades of black) because the steps between the two are converted to process.

  I figured out how to do it manually - just copied the art into a new layer, recolored filling of overprinting of version on the layer with highlights only (that of the spot color, one in black), then applied and adjusted manually until you get the desired effect. Perhaps the next version it will be a way to make all this redefine colors.

  You used only the percentages of process Magenta constantly in the color of your diplomas. So, for example, the grad in the object the leftmost, has five stages of color, each being a color different from the process. Illustrator, it is immaterial that these five colors different from process containing only values of the same single CMYK component (Magenta); Illustrator, they are five different colors.

  If you had first defined a global process Swatch containing only 100% Magenta, then used shades of this Global Swatch in your degrees, so you can simply change this Global Swatch instead and then replace that Spot with another (219C) and the grad color chart and objects using tints of the overall original sample would update accordingly.

  I'm not defending convoluted Illustrator handling color, I just tell you how it is. -Global Illustrator vs color distinction is nonsense. It should be abolished, and all the colors defined in the color chart should act as global.

  You don't say what version of Illustrator that you use. Assuming that CS3 or newer, you can:

  1. Add a new shade for 219.

  2 Select all.

  3 edit > adjust colors > Recolor art.

  4 popup colors: 1.

  5 double-click on the icon of color under the new column.

  6. in the color picker that results, click on the color chart.

  7. in the resulting list of swatches, click the sample of 219.

  8. click OK and close the live color dialog box.

  Now, if you select one of the filled objects of grad and click one of the color stops in the gradient palette, you will see by looking into the color palette (Adobe, can we please have a few more places to search to perform a simple operation?) that the judgment of color is now a shade of the color spot 219.

  Well, in your vi2.vi call you a Subvi (inputmodule2), that you do not attach... There is no direct link between vi1 and vi2...

  -You also have a condition of the big race in your vi1 because of all these inhabitants of colorbox - when more than one condition is true, you can't predict what color is used...

  -Why not use UnbundleByName?

  -VI2 shows no error in wiring...

  -Why not use a cluster to VI for all your contributions? You can hide the border and place the elements of the cluster in the same way. No need of several premises for initialization and no need of a fiber node...

• CS 6 Workspace saving not of color book.

  When I add books of color in my colorspace, it never saves it, I always come back everytime I open illustrator to the window > color books > XXX and add it to my workspace, that someone has a solution, it has not done this on my CS 5.5 but now 6 CS it won't stay.

  In the wheel of the swatches Panel menu, select the 'Permanent '. This will keep your books of color selected with your current workspace.

• InDesign CC 2014 doesn't load saved color chart

  I have some problems with my library of nuances in InDesign. I put a few groups of color with shades in them to load as default and it works very well when creating new documents, however they don't load in previously saved documents and appear not at all.

  I erased the preferences and that did not work ideas either, what it takes to try? I just stay persistent in my library of shades for all documents (the same as the default swatches make for the moment).

  By default the shades don't load already created documents.  If they did, if would be difficult to keep clean Swatch palette. all the colors I didn't need and had deleted would come every time I re-opened.

  You will need to use Load color chart, then choose a document containing the new color chart to import them.

  I'm not sure if this - or something similar - has been answered before, but I couldn't find any suitable thread/message /...

  All first of all system information:

  OSX imac running 10.8.x and macbook OSX 10.9.1 running

  * Illustrator CC

  * Pantone Color Manager

  I try to use the Pantone Fashion and home / color paper library provided by Pantone color Manager, clean for the use of the radiant missawi 18-3224 TPX (color of 2014). I saved the library named in a *.ase file and opened it in artificial intelligence. The number of colors, I guess, that all colors are imported, but I can't find the 18-3224. BUT there are a lot of 'no name Global Colors"with some of them who could be in question. Using 'pantone.ase xxd' in the terminal I can find at least the name "radiant 18-3224 TPX Orchid", which means, it is saved in the given file. Does anyone have an idea where start or - even better - how to solve this problem?

  Dear Scott:

  Your copy of PANTONE Color Manager is seriously out of date, because this problem has been fixed for a long time.

  To correct this, you will need to register at myPANTONE if you have not already done so - it is a free registration and will allow access to the PANTONE Color Manager update installer.  If you need to register you can do it first at https://www.pantone.com/pages/MYP_myPantone/mypMemberProfile.aspx.

  So here are the steps needed to correct this problem:

  1. delete all exported PANTONE FASHION + libraries HOUSE of all Adobe applications.

  2. log into your myPANTONE account and go to tools/downloaded software.

  3. download the PANTONE Color Manager for Mac or Windows Installer as appropriate.  It is the first product on the software downloads page.

  4. run the installer of PANTONE Color Manager directly on your current installation, which will update to version 2.1.

  5. the re-export the PANTONE FASHION + HOME of PANTONE Color Manager libraries for your Adobe products.  All exported PANTONE FASHION + HOME colors will now properly appear in Adobe Illustrator.

  Please note: when you start the PANTONE Color Manager Update, you will be asked to perform a "PantoneLIVE" update on the cotton F & H PANTONE library.  This update will remove the cotton F & H PANTONE and PANTONE F & H cotton - libraries of new colors and replace them with a single cotton F & H PANTONE library with all the colors of 2,100 in chromatic arrangement.
