  • Windows Media Player makes calls of NOR-fast Motion (Revisited)

About 2 years ago, I posted a message on this forum about a condition where running Windows Media Player increased the rate that my Visual Basic 6 program has been able to contact a PCI-7344 Panel using calls OR-Motion (original post). To summarize the post, my VB program be called functions OR-Motion speed after that the computer is started and simply in the process of running Windows Media Player would allow my program make calls of NOR-faster Motion. I created a program demo, posted and was able to reproduce the situation constantly using several different computers & cards PCI-7344. However, no one at National Instruments could reproduce that; It seems that the calls function always ran fast for them and never ran slowly. I finally gave up and let the issue of dying and said reluctantly, our customers just start WMP to increase the speed of the machine.

Now, I'm working on rewriting the software to the machine using VB.NET 2008 and Windows 7. My first hope was that the problem had gone with either the new VB, or Windows 7, but that doesn't seem to be the case. When I was with Windows XP, I could get recall for an improvement of the functions running WMP. With Windows 7, I can not get the increased rate even after the execution of WMP.

Today, I took two new computers identical and loaded Windows XP on Windows 7 and one on the other. I put a new PCI-7344 card in each computer. I then installed version 8.2 of NO-Motion on each. With the exception of Microsoft .NET 3.5, which is necessary for my test VB.NET program, no other software has been installed, do not even Visual Basic. I started on each PC, ran my test program to determine the calls/sec, start Windows Media Player and my test program is represented. Here are the results:

Test Windows XP & VB 6 program-128/s before launching WMP, 1024 Kbps after the execution of WMP

Test of Windows XP & VB.NET 2008-128/s before WMP program, 1024 Kbps after WMP

VB 6-256 calls/s before launching WMP, 256 Kbps calls after execution of WMP and Windows 7 test program

Windows 7 test program and VB.NET - 256 Kbps calls before you launch WMP, 256 Kbps calls after execution of WMP

As you can see, WMP has increased the rate of call of function OR-Motion on Windows XP, but has no effect in Windows 7. In addition, it did not matter which version of Visual Basic has been used.

My first question is: what determines the rate at which he called on a NOR-Motion function? It seems that the maximum is 1024/s, which is consistent with what I saw 2 years ago even on slower computers. I would have thought that would be a faster PC function calls could also be made faster, but appears not to be the case. And is there some significance at 128, 256, and 1024 rates?

My next question is: someone at - it else noticed faster or slower speeds using NOR-Motion after moving to Windows 7?

The software that I work on the controls, a machine used on a production floor where the cycle time is critical and even save a fraction of a second can be important. With Windows XP, we have reduced the cycle time of 5 or 6 seconds by running WMP. We would like to start using Windows 7, but we won't be able to if it means cycle slower times on our machines.

The source code for VB 6 and VB.NET 2008 for the demo program is attached. This is the computer that I used for the test today, but I was also able to reproduce this on computers Dell, LS, Xycom and Allen-Bradley. I also used several different versions of NOR-Motion and WMP with the same results.

  • "Windows Media Player cannot burn the files to CD" error while burning a CD

My Windows Media Player says "Windows Media Player cannot burn the files to the CD. Check that the disc is clean and not damaged. If necessary, select a slower recording speed or try a different brand of blank discs.  I have burned several CD from Windows Media Player in the last year.  I used different brands of CD, since I first saw this message, but it continues to give the same message.  Whenever the burner starts to burn, I get this message.  What is the problem?

Thank you for answering my question.   I understood the question.  In the burning options, there is a tab file types.  For some reason the appropriate boxes are not selected.  The burning process has led me to believe that I had a problem of burner or CD, while he was in fact the options.  Thank you once again.

  • C00D0FF4 error message when you try to share the media in the Player Windows Media Player 11 and Vista Home Premium SP2 64-bit

    Hello
I can't share my media using WMP 11.  When I try to do, opens a window of options asking how I want to share media files (with xbox, other users, etc.), and I select the options and click OK.  Then, when I return in the sharing of multimedia files to see if the media are indeed shared, a window opens informing me "Media sharing has been disabled because a required Windows setting or component has been changed. For any additional help, click Help on the Web. When I click Web help, the error code above, with a few troubshooting not.  You must ensure that Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is turned on.  However, when I get to the list of Services, WMP Network Sharing is not.  It is also a step to confirm the ownership of a registry subkey.  When I try to access the subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences\HME\ [security ID], however, there is no security ID subkey.  Instead of that, by virtue of the MCH, there is a list of "default (name), REG_SZ (type) and not the value (data)".

Suggestions about how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.  Would it be useful to simply uninstall WMP and start over?  If so, how to do that?  I saw an obvious way to do it.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

  • Windows Media Player 11, do not tear

I use Window Media 11 with Windows Vista. Currently when I insert a music CD in the CD ROM drive commercial, media player is launched, the default rip CD inserted at first, however the first track is torn, and then I get an error on the remaining titles. I can play one track, but all other tracks have a the word "error" instead of torn.  Can anyone help.  The motherboard on my Dell XPS has been replaced by a Dell technician. I called Dell, but they feel that it is now a software problem?

I copy my post for some other fair forums so that hopefully, it is easier to find and can help.

I spent so many hours trying to solve this problem and I think I have finally fixed.  After having read about it in the forums as much as I could find, most people seemed to believe that the associated nvidia problem.  Since that's all that I got to work, I tried to download tons of new drivers from nvidia and HP, as well as looking for firmware for my drive, replace my hard drive and more.  Part of the problem is that I got several places where nvidia has been listed in my device manager (under network adapters, and other display adapters) and so I was very confused about the pilot that could be the cause of windows media player do not rip or play music.   Although I used the two options to http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us to find drivers (automatic and manual search) I couldn't seem to find a driver that makes the difference in this problem.  I was finally helped, it's that I found a site that explains how I know exactly which product I.  I me be confused by the different numbers in the name of the product and I couldn't tell if I was looking for the correct product series in the manual search.  My computer is several years old and I have the nForce 400 series, which it turns out that is not in the manual search; I had to look at the Beta and archived drivers to find the driver who seemed to solve the problem.
For me, the driver that I needed was in a file called nforce_winvista32_15.00G_english.exe.  When my hard drive failed, I had a reinstallation of Vista done and it wasn't 32 64 bits, so make sure that understand you that one you have on your system properties, so you can find the exact drivers you need.  Do not give up, people!  The question was ridiculously hard to find the answer for but easy to fix once you find the right driver.  I saw at least one person who said they had this problem but not nvidia hardware so I don't know if it would be the same kind of difficulty for them.  Sorry for the explanation not technical enough here, I'm not an expert, but I explained it as well as I could.  I ripped a cd earlier so it seems to work, but I worked on it so long I half expect another question to come tomorrow, error messages or something in that sense, lol.  I will return here and edit if that turns out be the case.  Good luck!

  • How can I reset Windows Media Player to use songs on my external backup drive instead or in addition to the songs on my desktop with Windows Vista Edition basic hard drive family?

How can I reset the Player Windows Media in Windows Vista Home Basic to use the songs on my external backup drive instead of (or in addition to) the songs on my desktop hard drive?  Currently, the Media Player library indicates that the hard drive (C:\) is my only option of disks to use for sources of songs.

Basically, I want to have Media Player external drive for all the songs from research and build his library on this disc instead of on the C:\ drive.
My problem is that the songs are hogging too much space on my hard drive, so I want to move to my external drive to backup instead, but Media Player will not access it.  I saw an option in Media Player to add a song to a different drive to the library whenever I play a song of this player, but that would require me to play all the songs moved one at a time, which is not practical, and which would not solve my problem because Media Player could still be maintaining the library on my HDD to say.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

  • Windows Media Player 11 for Vista problem with skin mode

My Windows Media Player for Vista (premium) works well for more than a year.  The other day, for the first time, I chose to start it in appearance (small) mode.  The hourglass appeared, then she flashed "not responding".  When I searched for help, help app has just ended.  When I asked for more details, the message says "a problem caused this program blocking interact with Windows.  Problem event name is AppHangB1; version of the app is 11.0.6002.18065; Hang sign is e710; Blocking type is '0 '. timestamp of the application is 4a5dce03.

I went into Control Panel to try to fix, but Media Player is not displayed as an installed program.

I tried to download and reinstall, but it says that my version is more recent than the downloadable version.

I tried to remove the program .exe file and I was told that I needed permission (even though I am the administrator).

I ran the cmd scan, but he said that some errors could not be fixed.

I tried to run regedit, but my computer says there is an error and could not work.

So I can't open, remove, repair or replace the Windows Media Player 11.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I saw another thread that has suggested to delete three registry entries.  That did not work, but because WMP didn't work, I felt "BOLD".  I've therefore deleted everything in the registry, including 'by default'.  And guess what?  It worked!  He put back me in full mode, I'll leave the skin only mode.

    Thanks again.

  • Windows Media Player comes back to the initial settings

I've seen that several times during the construction of a PC. One of the things I do is start Windows Media Player and set the player / ripping the defaults; WMP works very well. This time, however, after the hours of use, mainly surfing using IE11, I tried to listen to music in my music. But when WMP displayed on the screen, I saw the first screen, who asks whether I want recommended settings. When I clicked on recommended settings and clicked on OK (or Yes or something else), they showed me WMP with my previous settings. I ran full scans with Malwarebytes Pro and F-Secure, but found nothing. Is it a side effect of the updates published on this last Patch Tuesday, or is there another reason why this would happen?

latest updates of windholes did this damage,

don't know which update it was well,
had to walk another person through this yesterday while they have tried to use WiMP and got first use of new dialog box.

  • Error "TI drivers video card are out of date" when you try to play videos on Windows Media Player

I tried to convert videos using the converter from DVDVideosoft video I received a message that says ATI video card drivers are outdated. I tried to download and install the latest drivers and I got the blue screen of death. When I rebooted the computer tried to play a video that was recorded using FRAPS on WMP, all I saw is not a background image of an eighth. The sound played end. When I converted the video in MP4 or WMV and try to play the video, I got an error message that says: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file. "I tried to restore the computer to an earlier time, but that did not work.

Videos recorded using my webcam or made with Movie Maker plays very well.

Nevermind, I used a different video converter and the videos play fine on WMP.

  • The library used by Windows Media Player is corrupt. What can I do?

We have removed the virus that caused it (the library is still corrupted), but now we can't find one of our photos, videos or documents.  We saw all our photos and videos for a few minutes when we opened the Windows Media Player for the first time, but as soon as the update is complete, all disappeared.  When we click on 'Properties' on a couple of records that appear still under 'Photos', the file size and the number of files, the two seem to be OK; However, when we open the file, it is empty.

  • Play the count resets in Windows Media Player

    Original title: play account

    Hello

Just to note, I saw the original post and the solution and it worked for me I posted, but got no answer.

It's here: when I use Windows Media Player (Windows 7), sometimes the game count is based. Listening to songs that have 5 or less seem to loose all play the County. Songs with more than 5 look seem five loose look. And there are a handful of random songs that retain some play account with less than 5 plays and the game number is reduced, but it still has County. Regardless of the type of music file (mp3 etc.).

No matter what I do on my computer when it resets except wen I close the media player. Sometimes it clears if I just close and reopen, sometimes it isn't. If I close and restart the computer, it may or may not wipe the game number. Once when my computer turns off by itself it wipe the County game files.

How can I keep my game count files?

    Thank you

    1 have start-> all programs-> startup
If you see WMP, a multimedia file any in the folder, delete.
You may need to display the hidden files and folders.

    No Media Player file there.

    2. go into your control panel, administrative tools, Services. In the list on the left side, find Windows Media Player, hover over the Startup Type column if it says "Automatic" double click it and change it to manual.

    Already the manual

    3. start-> Run, type msconfig. Click on the "Startup" tab, scroll down and look for Windows Media Player, clear the check box in front of her.
