Scalability and cross-platform Web Viewer features

If I understand door MEA Mobile apps, our company is interested in using AEMM provided the web viewer is cross-platform capable.

On the phone, the web viewer support a sensible overview; However, seems to want to launch the application.

On Tablet (iPad, at least), the web viewer displays the message: "this content is no longer available.  "Download the application to enjoy similar content."

On the desktop, the experience is good; However, what scalability is possible; as the sensitive available refining?

This ability would be major for our society - both in the launch of new projects, as well as our full range of editions of the migration.

The web viewer only works on desktops and laptops. It is not supported on phones and tablets.

Extensibility for web office viewer is similar to iOS and Android apps. Creating workflow API and most APIs Cordova associated with the application, user, device and content work similarly in web viewer as they do in iOS/Android, but Cordova APIs that are specific to mobile devices (such as the camera and geolocation) do not work in Office web viewer.

  • Viewing and buying Desktop / Web Viewer Question.

I understand that if you share your free content via your iOS app it can be viewed in a browser (with a few features missing like hitting swiping images.)

    My question is this...

I have a business account... A person buy the magazine and finds the whole magazine through a desktop computer with the DPS Web Viewer? Or its just limited to free content on your web browser, but they must have an iPad to view all mag?  They get full access to the desktop so they buy.

    Thank you

  • Adobe DPS web viewer feature...

Don't know if someone has done - but is there a way to show folios online... a bit like this:

For this example, the user doesn't have an iPad. But it is supplied with connection references to view secure content of DPS.

    • User visits a site with an iFrame embedded with the used Web content viewer - with folios displayed according to an iPad (horizontal view) library

    • The user can view all folios online, typing through to see all pages of each folio and return to the "library".

    • User accesses only the folios through safe sign-in - i.e.: the content is sensitive and require secure access

    • All other features applies - object States, scrolling images, video, audio, etc.

Is this possible? I would hope that it is...!

  • How to disable "fast web view" in a document

I would like to take an existing pdf document and * disable * the option "fast web view" who has been enabled on this subject. How do I do that? OS X 10.6.8.

Now, open the document in Acrobat 7.14, I can look in the properties of Document: Description and see "Fast Web View: Yes. In Properties: the security of the documents , everything is permitted. So, I'm going to Preferences: Internet where the "Fast Web View" box is unchecked. I save the document. I reopen the newly saved document and see Fast Web View is always on! Huh? How do you turn it off? I want to see "Fast Web View: no '.

You can set a preference of the user in Acrobat so that when you perform a save under it's not linearized: Edit > Preferences > Documents > Save Settings > Save As optimizes for fast display of webpages [disable]

So just disable this preference and do save as.

  • Why are they the Web viewer and device sign in different boxes?

We create an AEM application that uses right V2. I just noticed that the sign in the dialog box for the Web Viewer looks like this:

    Browser.png

But the sign in for iOS devices dialog box looks like this:

    Device.jpg

Ask yourself why they are different? Differences that matter to us:

    1. the screen of the Tablet says "Username" but Viewer says Web 'Email address' (we prefer email address)

    2. the screen of the Tablet is not a link "create an account", but the Web viewer don't. This is important. We need this.

Is it possible to make these screens match? Why are they different?

    Thank you.

Keith, the 'create an account' link on iOS is in the 'Account' dialog box, under the button "connect". iOS is the only application that has a dialog account, because iOS has a few other configuration options to manage the different store not present scenarios on other platforms. Do you not observe it at this place?

About the chain, the difference is involuntary. User name is the more generic term and one we use throughout all the viewers of the mobile device. We chose the username because some authentication providers do not require an email address, so he labelling 'e-mail address' may be incorrect.

  • Web Viewer and folio portrait and landscape

    Hello

    two questions:

    (1) how to share only the orientation portrait a Folio? or landscape?

Our magazines have everything from portrait and a page on the landscape. When the user share an article, the web viewer must first show portrait orientation. It is now always showing the landscape.

    (2) how to make navigation between folios (items) in orientation portrait?

After turn to portrait and navigate to the following folio, it changes to the new landscape.

    Thank you.

Question 1: The web viewer has enough simple rules for what to show. If the shared item is available in portrait mode and landscape, landscape by default and allow the player to change to portrait by clicking the direction control in the lower left corner of the footer. If the shared item is available in one orientation, which is that of the web viewer displays. We display the default landscape because the proportions of the fashion landscape is the "best fit" for almost all instructors (who are also in landscape mode). It is not possible at this time to specify the orientation of the content when it is shared, that determined when it is displayed.

Question 2: Currently, we do not offer the ability to override the default values, as described above. There is a feature that we have on our 'to do' for the future I hope not too far away that would allow you (the Publisher) to specify what web orientation viewer should use for each folio by default, effectively replacing the current behavior of landscape first list. If you specify ' default viewer web site: portrait ", then the web viewer should always be first portrait mode (when both are available) for each item in this folio.

  • PDF-batteries on Android and the web viewer?

What Android viewer's support PDF-batteries? When he arrives, the ipad-folios can be recycled on the iphone-slips on android phones and Android tabs.

And what about the Web viewer? We are using the sharing feature, but the lack of pdf support will force us to use png instead of pdf.

No matter what chanche to solve this soon?

Android for PDF support is on the roadmap, but it won't happen anytime soon.

For the Web Viewer of PDF support, the plan is to download PDF articles as JPG/PNG Web Viewer items automatically, if all goes well in the version v22 6-8 weeks.

  • PC and MAC cross-platform

I bought creative suite for my student daughter CS4, version student about £500 - (no wonder PTA are broke) she need only photoshop and illustrator, but the cost of these programs separately was more than the entire suite.

She wanted to upgrade just photoshop and illustrator, CS5, but apparently you can do, you must update all the more... for another beautiful award. (adobe did not bother explaining this issue when buying)

She had CS4 on his desktop PC and on his cell phone. Laptop broke, and being an art student, she decided to buy a MACbook. (without my knowledge, but I can understand his reasons)

MOM software does not work on my MAC!

Now, we are facing the whole PC - MAC cross platform question.

She can upgrade to CS5 and change the license for MAC, but then she can't use it on his PC.

After reading it was yet another version, now CS 5.5, I just got tired of Adobe, it's fresh and how to total crap that he treats his customers, the lack of flexibility, the price that really are paralyzing if its just something that soak you with occasionally, so she is going to use gimp.

Why can't make cross-platform software, even Corel Adobe offers that.

I can see why people eventually adobe software piracy, it seems that more than one easier option that pulling your hair out because you can't just get to level PS and Illustrator, but rather must upgade a whole series of things you never wanted nor will never need.

But the biggest nightmare, it's that you can't share the license of the software between a mac and a PC.

If it is incorrect, I wish someone could tell me, I tried adobe support and I was told I could upgrade to CS5 and change the Mac platform. Once again for a fairly large amount.

It was after I asked the question "can I share the software on PC and MAC?

CS4 was fine, she didn't want CS5 or CS 5.5... all she wanted was to be able to occasionally use two software programs that cost £500 at a time of its computers, a mac a pc.

guardians of course expect to have a PS... (most children, but they seem to all have hacked their)

We descended the respectable road honest and bought the software thinking it would last him the 3 years at University... oh jeez.

Sorry to hear the difficulties you and your daughter have had.  Certainly, you drive safer to buy your software, as many illegal downloads are laced with viruses and can do much harm.

Regarding the policy on the extensions, it generates an exchange of views.  But there still is a (little known) way buy Adobe CS5 multi-platforms to install on Windows and Mac OS, even if it would require a new update for you now.

Hope this helps and good luck to your daughter in his studies.

  • PDF file generated from Reporting SERVICES hangs when opened in Adobe reader 11 and saved as with "optimized for fast web view."

Large pdf (over 1000 pages) generated files form SSRS crashes when opened in Adobe reader 11 and saved as with "Optimized for fast web view" activated. This saves fine with disabling this option. However, our customers are not ready to accept this solution because they do not want to change any settings. Please suggest if we should create a ticket with microsoft for SSRS allow the generation of pdf quick display of Web pages or is it an option in Adobe to fix this problem without changing the settings.

The SSRS file has Fast Web View: 'No' and that's how Microsoft SSRS generates these files.

Thank you for the complete maxwyss response

As you have indicated, the PDF SSRS seems to have some elements that are quite similar to be supported for fast web view.

We asked customers to disable the fast web view, but the customer is big enough to make a change individually on their machines and so were looking for a solution.

I saw in several forums and a few discussions here as well as disable the fast web view option works for pdf fails.

Which was just wondering if its known that multiple PDFs genarted by third parties may have problems with the optimization, the Save as optimized for fast web view could be disabled by default installation of acrobat reader rather than be enabled by default

    Thanks again for the reply!

  • can I install photoshop on my computer mac laptop and my laptop as a backup? It works cross-platform?

    my purchase work cross platform?

It depends on what you bought.  If you ask about a subscription to creative cloud, then Yes, you can install and activate on one or two platforms.  If you ask about a version of CS, unless you have purchased a multiplatform license, which is not at all normal, you can use it on the platform for which the license has been generated.

  • Web Viewer and editor of marketing (article Allen)

My client publish folio free and retail, and we want to understand how to use the Web Viewer via links (url) or through more traditional campaign vehicles. He wants to send a message to Facebook/Twitter like this:

We have published this publication ipad 'XXXXX '! Please get a glimpse of some article here (link to web viewer).

And then buy it on iTunes Store!

So I have a few questions:

    (1) folio free ipad are visible in the web viewer with no limitation (it's ok).

    (2) free folio - Viewer web only - which never launched an iPad app and use only the web viewer. (it's ok).

    (3) the problem is the folio of detail, try to think of this structure:

    Article 1 (free)

    Article 2 (free)

    Article 3 (free)

    Article 4 (aerosol)

    Article 5 (aerosol)

    Article 6 (protected)

    Article 7 (protected)

    Article 8 (protected)

    Article 9 (protected)

    Article 10 (protected)

    Article 11 (free)

Links to article counter display on desktop content without any limitation.

If a user with this link can see all the article (also protected)! Is it possible to use a limitation for desktop users?

This article by Allen Ellison has not helped me:

.. .but once a URL custom hosting is associated with a publication, all users who follow a link from web viewer will end up in your URL, if you want to validate that users of iOS...

In a folio detail (as you describe in #3), users who click or press the link can see all folios free and none of the folios protected (unless they have right). They will be able to view the items counter, but only until they reach the threshold that specifies the editor. After that, the rest of the items are protected by a paywall.

This applies to both built-in web viewers. However, with a web viewer integrated, you can give right to users to connect and consult the content that they have right to.

  • Web Viewer: Best practices and Limitations

The opportunity to share our publication online via a web viewer is an asset to have. However, I noticed some blockages in two folios, we have made available online: videos suddenly stop playing; slow scrolling pages are not completely accessible to see; interactivity does not work in different browsers. I wonder if there is any documentation or advice to ensure a smoother experience across all display options.

    Hello

Thanks for the additional details. We look at the issues you reported and have a few comments.

Here are a few quick notes for each of the elements.

    -Video suddenly stop playing.

We had a new web viewer updated today, and this seems to have solved the problem with the video stopping on this article.

    http://ContentViewer.Adobe.com/s/Airman%20Magazine/c31b3f6bf51348f280a8bf8e57d33ee4/2013-0 6/7%20SUMMITS%20SIDEBAR.html

In this article, there is a play button placed inside the OSM. ASM has been put to play as a slide show and the loop. It was originally an interaction with the video that caused it close. We have made some changes to the way video MSOs interact in this latest version, and that avoids this problem.

Yet, in this case, apparently not necessary to use the DSO or even a button. For videos full screen like this, you can simply create the video overlay on the image of the button. With videos full screen, the area of overlay that you define behaves like a button "play" without you having to add explicitly one.

-Scroll effect slow pages are not completely accessible for display

We have also looked at this article and are able to reproduce the problem. As we develop a solution, we will work to get to a workaround to help you avoid this problem. We'll post here when we have some suggestions for you.

-Interactivity does not work properly in different browsers

We have experienced some problems with certain types of content in Internet Explorer. We are working on some improvements to help reduce these.

I will address the two items that you referenced separately.

    -Multi-state objects does not properly

There are some limitations with IE when it comes to the way it handles the interaction events. In this case, the layout of the content can be slightly adjusted to avoid this problem. I noticed that the positioning of several ESM is a little bit off.

For example, the "VISUALS4" MSO is supposed to appear on the fourth page (index of the #3 page). However, if you look carefully at the InDesign file, you will see at the top of the OSM superimposed on the previous page of two pixels. As layering begins on the previous page, this is how it is rendered. Most modern browsers can handle this correctly, but it affects the stacking order in a way that causes a problem with IE.

If you move all WHO the problem a few pixels to make sure that the upper part of the WHO is aligned with the top of the page, it should work properly in Internet Explorer.

-Overlay of the play button has somehow to only changed the blue outline

In reviewing the file folio for the article, it shows that the two States for the MSO play button use the same image.

    http://CDN-ContentViewer.Adobe.com/v/88e59469-94d0-4D3B-95cb-595c7d3a7944/7%20SUMMITS%20SI DEBAR/1/OverlayResources/InDesign_BNDLR_RSRC29936-633919858/Multi-state%2010_State%202_205 11_Content_L.png

I don't know what the behavior planned for this MSO. It is configured as a slide-show mode that loops between the two States, once it is clicked. Because the OSM will be covered by the video full screen, which is the desired effect? Please explain what you want to achieve and we can provide suggestions.

    -No support for overlays

On some browsers, including some versions of Internet Explorer, we support all interactive overlays. The screenshot you posted seems to be an overlay of imageSequence. This special overlay is not supported on some versions of Internet Explorer.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or encounter other problems. We will do our utmost to help.

    Thank you
