scaling percentage

I'm not much of a user of Illustrator (5.0) so it's probably pretty basic.

1. I am changing the scale in percent but can not see the option anywhere. I looked in the help of Adobe and it shows show that as an option, but on my screen scaling is only in the measures.

I've attached a screenshot of what I look at. No % option either in Control Panel or the transformation and I cannot see anywhere to bring it.

2. If I have something on the scale and you want to repeat this on another object, adjust turn it once again, but he also moves to a different position on the canvas!

I'm used to these features, how work in InDesign then maybe I need a paradigm shift.

Oh, Brian, you can select all instances and then object > transform > transform each > insert % values for X and Y.

You can select > object > text objects to select all instances them of the Type.

For type described, you can find a common characteristic, such as Select > same > STROKE weight/race fill color/color/background & contour, or anything that may apply.

Or you can select > object > paths of groups/compound / anything that can apply.

  • What happened to type appearing like this when scaling 25 (67)

    Hello

    We upgrade from CS2 to CS3 and CS2, we use wide type (Via a transformation tool and selecting the box) and in the type of character size it would have two values a regular and the other between (). EX: ARTICLE12.15... From the drop of the control bar when we were in a transformation or selection tool, we had a way to reset at which he showed that a single value... it's gone in CS3... Does anyone know where this option is now reset to not show the two values?

    Thank you!

    If it's the same in CS4, then you will find the menu option in the Panel menu 100% scaling transformation as "redefine".

    In CS4, you can set your preference for the scaling of "Content scale" in the measurement of objects instead of "Option adjust scaling percentage. If this option is in CS3, then scaling of content will avoid this problem, negating the need to reset the text attribute, or redefine the scale 100%.

  • Frame advanced content scaling

    Hi all

    as a power user of InDesign CS3, I am in urgent need of a feature which I do not know still exists. Here is my problem:

    For a particular job, I need to import several images in frames arranged on a grid. Once finished, I need to change the content of images (direct selection tool) the same time. Now, here's how InDesign behaves:

    -When I select the contents of a single image, the scaling percentage is the percentage of real material imported in this particular setting print size. Fine.

    -If I press Shift and proceed to select the contents of the following image, this percentage now turns to 100%, no matter what it is. Fine.

    -If I change this percentage, say 120%, all the 'content' wil scaling proportionally, that's what I want. Fine.

    -Now here is where it hurts: any 'content', when passing through this transformation, using a common origin of transformation; which means that those who are far from be originally partially or completely disappear because their position is changed, and so they move partially or completely out of the frame.

    I would like the action of transformation using the origins of the image by image, in other words, all content would use origin of transformation of the sound own framework.

    I hope my question is clear enough...

    If so, anyone has a solution?

    Have you looked at the new command of transformation?

  • Incorrect font size

    Hello

    (InDesign 8.0.1 - Mac 10.7.5)

    Problem: I have a style in place by specifying a size of pt 76. Some text pasted in Apple Mail with the assigned style is 60 points. There is no sign '+' after the name of style, and when I have the option + click on the style there is no change.

    What I studied:

    I checked the preferences:

    • 'when pasting'-'paste text only' is checked.
    • 'When you descale' - "applies to the object" is checked ("Adjust the scale percentage" I find nonesensical so do not work with it).

    Thoughts:

    Is there something else that could create this dimensioning false text?

    Hope you can help.

    I have recently updated the suite adobe Manager, but do not think that she had changed to InDesign. I'm not aware of this problem before (except with 'Adjust scaling percentage') so if the update has changed a community resource?

    I hope you can help

    Thank you.

    In such cases, it is usually a character style that has also been applied, and that substitutes the paragraph style.

  • Millimeters of different scales in the same document

    Hello

    I started a layout of book three years ago with a previous version of InDesign CS2, then updated in CS4. The problem I have now is that the cultures of the image have different scale systems throughout the document. All of them are defined in millimetres, but some have a border guard to the text to say 27mm (which is false) and others have 5mm (which is right) - for the same apparent size. The same thing happens to advancements of level during the measurement of the images upward or down (a click on some images has the same effect as 3 or more clicks on others). Should I have to remove executives who were wrong and make new ones, or is - something that can be set in a dialog box or other? (I hope I can translate things in a way that can be understood)

    It is the result of a preference setting. In the general section of downtown set the radio button for "during the measurement:" "Apply to content" instead of 'Option adjust scaling percentage' and values will reflect their true dimensions. In the meantime, you can select the object and open the menu on the edge of the Panel and choose Reset scaling to 100% in order to take account of the actual weight.

  • Return an image to its original size?

    Hello world

    When you try to sort the page layouts in indesign, I very often zoom photos until they fit properly on the page. But is there a way to reset the original size of the image without having to re - import when I want to try a different size?

    Thank you

    Chris

    Edit > Preferences > General > during the measurement: adjust scaling percentage.  I suppose that some users have a reason, but I do not understand why it is not the default value anyway.

    Then when you resize it the percentage bar will show how much is climbed by.  To get it to how it was originally simply use the menu drop-down and click 100%.

  • InDesign CS4 Strokes incompatible on frames

    OK... I did some research and that you did not find anything on it except that I missed somewhere. I work for a catalog company, and we have a ton of old catalogs out us and reuse elements from and what we found is that the strokes on the frames for boxes are not accurate, even if all the attributes claim that they are identical.

    It does not matter what version of Mac OS X or InDesign, we open the files in they are different visually and when print.Picture 1.jpg

    Have a little patience.

    The reason why features don't match, it is that the frameworks have been established at the level. There are two parameters that affect the behavior of shots during the measurement. The first lies in the transform or control panel menu and is labeled "Adjust Stoke weight climbing" and is enabled by default. That means images across scales also race. The second is in the preferences on the general tab. Under "when you descale" you have the choice between 'apply to content' or 'adjust scaling percentage. If you choose the latter and adapted traits, traits change of weight, but stoke listed weight remains constant (I hate that).

    In such cases, select the image and return to the menu or the control panel or transform and choose "Redefine the 100% scaling" and your listed wieghts will be accurate.

  • Help place the images - why they appear to 150% and a bad image?

    Hello

    Relative newbie here.

    I have my display performace in InDesign too high. If I "place" an image or just simply slip it on the page, and little matter which image file format I use (tif, png, jpg, whatever), when placed, the images appear about 50% bigger than the source and low - ish quality. I have then to try to manually resize them so they look good on screen and when printed.

    • Why when I place images not appear 100%?
    • Is it possible to resize images other than striking handles resize and hoping for the best?

    Thank you very much.

    OK, if the balance indicates 100% with the direct Selection tool, that's what you have. Note that using the regular selection tool (the black arrow) will ALWAYS show 100% in the areas of scaling unless you have set your preferences to 'adjust scaling percentage', this is why you use the direct Selection tool to check. You can also select the image with the tool and look at the Info Palette. the real and effective ppi listed will be the same at 100%. What resolution is currently in the range of information?

    I asked vs click, click and drag because in CS4 when you drag an image is still growing the image to fit. That's not true in CS3.

    Screenshots are generally 72 ppi to size, they are captured. 72 DPI is low for most of the printed work, but no one expects very much in terms of quality for screenshots. You really place, right, is not dragging from Photoshop in ID, which is the equivalent of collage? Paste a picture gives you only the preview screen in CS3. I'm not sure you will see a difference with a screenshot, however, since the preview will be also 72 dpi.

    If the image is really too large on the page you can evolve in ID now the Ctrl + Shift keys while dragging a handle. You must press the keys before you click the mouse in Windows because there is a bug. You can also use the scale tool, or enter a new value of the scale in the areas of scaling. You can use actual dimensions in these areas if you include units, incidentally.

    In Photoshop, you can adapt the image using Image > Image size... If you uncheck the 'resample image' the resolutiuon will change inversely proportional to size, in order to reduce the size will increase the resolution, but there will be no difference in quality during the scaling in ID.

  • percentage of the images inside InDesign scaling

    Hello

    got a picture with a size of 544 x 408 px meassured in photoshop.

    Sure as layers .psd to 264dpi.

    Bring it in InDesign where I create articles for a folio of 1024 x 768 px.

    At 100% the size of the image 101.489 x 96.233 px.

    It's a question of resolution, but if so it means pixels in photoshop are not equal to pixels in InDesign?

    Please, anyone who can explain this to me?

    Thanks in advance,

    Herman

    This is probably a question to understand the effective difference between 'Actual PPI' and "PPI." To see the difference, select your placed image and display the Info Panel (window > info). Then put the image to enlarge. As long as your Effective PPI is greater than 144, you have nothing to fear.

    Exception: If you create image for overlays files as sequences of images, use save for Web to create images to 72 dpi.

    I need to change the option for "Climbing" in a script, but I can't seem to find how to access JavaScript. I checked the "GeneralPreference" in the Javascript reference Guide, but do not see any of this.

  • Why is my action of rotation scaling my work

    I am creating an action to rotate a layer. But when I play back the layer is also available on the smaller scale. I can see it in action where it shows the width and height as a percentage, but I can't understand how to change it. I tried double click this option in the action panel, but when I do that it plays to the action.

    Here are some screenshots...

    When I record the action here are the settings for the rotation:

    Screen Shot 2015-07-14 at 11.20.52 PM.png

    Then when I play action, that's what I see... an image scaling and the percentage in the Panel actions:

    Screen Shot 2015-07-14 at 11.21.20 PM.png

    How to create an action that doesn't turn and does not decrease the size? Thank you!!

    I just found a work around... I went to change, transform and decided to turn 180. Then I was able to double click on the rotate step angle in the action panel (I couldn't before). So I customized that rotation to the angle I want and there is no scaling not built in.

  • How you zoom a whole video clip a certain percentage

    I shot some footage of hockey and I want to zoom in all the clips of a certain percentage of the final production... I put my clip in the source monitor and there is a drop down menu which allows to apply a different percentage and the clip is just the way I want it. I do the same thing after you put the clip on the timeline and I adjust the percentage on the monitor of the timeline as well but when I export the video it does not zoom in... it produces the clip as usual. How Zoom in a full clip and it can produce like that?

    Levels of Zoom in the Source and program monitors affects only the way monitors display video. Note that as you approach, scroll bars appear and you can scroll to see areas that are out of sight. In other words, that's all that's left.

    What you want to do is to use the scale under Motion parameter.

    If you CC2014 - and that you want to change the scaling of the master clip rather than the elements of track - then you can use the new feature Clip Master effects. Except that when a main element is loaded in the effect controls panel, the "intrinsic" effects [Motion, opacity, and time remapping] are not available. Instead, you can use the effect of the transformation, which also has the scale settings.

    If you are on an older version, then you can use the attributes of the dough or use a workflow of nesting.

  • How can I change a pixel to the sizing of percentage sizing?

    I have a project completed in Edge animate which was done with x, y, w, h, etc. using the pixel values to get a correct alignment. Now it must be cast as percentages so that it is visible on a variety of screen sizes. I tried to do one parameter at a time, but the elements align properly. There are many critical activities aligned the design. Is it possible to do a conversion as a percentage?

    "Sensitive Scaling" solve your problem?

    In this case, if the size of the element changes the alignment of elements remain the same.

  • stop scaling images in the grid layout cs6 fluid

    Hi, ive played with fluid layout grid and I think im picking up pretty well. One thing that confuses me is good with images. If I insert an image and you want to evolve it's good, but if I want to stop the image of everything that I should have scaling to do is to enter a height and width figure, CS6 even performs this task for you in the properties box. This however does not work for me, when I enter the height and width of the image always scales but also bow as well. Ive tried without dimensions, dimensions with padlock power but its does not work.

    Well, since you want your images to stay the same size to any width of browser window, you need to ensure that the

    is wide enough when the browser window is reduced, so you must set the to the min-width of the image, instead of percentages:

    {#LayoutDiv1}

    Clear: both;

    float: left;

    left margin: 0;

    min-width: 439px;

    / * Width: 100%; * /

    left margin: 0;

    min-width: 335px;

    / * Width: 100%; * /
