SCORM 2004 in AS3

I have a file in flash (SWF) needs to talk to an LMS (SCORM 2004). I have the FLA that I can publish with SCORM 2004 followed. I need the syntax for the provision of the SGA with the student's progress through courses, results of the review, students name etc. Can anyone help!

OK, I'll try to break this down piece by piece.

Regarding the ADL test suite, you are right that it is probably not installed correctly, or there is a problem with its configuration. Its rather notorious as being difficult to operate. Once the work however, its very useful. Whatever it is, it really should not have any impact on your flash content. In terms of being able to test your content, I suggest that you take a look at cloud.scorm.com. even if you are not intending to set up a 'cloud' course, it's a great test environment (100 meg test acct is free) and really easy to use. Simply download your package and it will notify if you any scorm errors and warnings to be fixed in the manifesto and you can test all the courses you like.

On your flash content:

Just to check, you have a wrapper for an user interface that you load your interaction/read SWF files. Your flash content should have absolutely 0 impact on time or not, you can get your toolkit to run. So, all you really have to worry here is send and receive varying information from your LMS. When you test here, usually, I add another layer to my content with a few predefined text fields. to track changes made to variables scorm, I work on during a test/debugging.

Most of the code for your SCORM course should probably be handled in your UI wrapper as opposed to your content slides.

If you end up going the road of pipworks (I highly recommend this course all by scratch it management), then you just need to set up some features reporting.

in general,.

I use one for the initial load of the user interface. This is where I put all status and get all the values that I need (like the name the student, current progress as your bookmarking information, etc.)

Can I use another function to update my progress to the lms

And finally have another that updates the data required for the marking of the quiz or other content received you can have.

So to call the latter, (with the possible exception of the initial report, which should be called the one based on the configuration of your user interface). I just use a custom event and possibly check for a lable of frame on the last frame of your content to call the function you need.

Once you have tested it at the local level (i.e. by ensuring all the side flash works, and things like your quiz data are actually reports to your user interface handler). You can then watch actually test in the ADL package or something like scormcloud.

For details: do a search for «scorm» 2004 reference PERIOD It will be invaluable for you long term.

"For bookmarking, take a look at" ""cmi.location '. Basically when you load your course you want to get this value and say your user interface to start at this slide.

The principle is the same for the learners name of the lms.  See 'cmi.learner_name '.

Now, quizes can get a little complex depending on how and how much information you want to communicate to the LMS.  What I consider the key those who are 'cmi.score.min', 'cmi.score.max', 'cmi.score.raw' and 'cmi.score.scaled' as cmi.success_status. I run usually by making the content of your files "cliché" to your user interface and then have the user interface of the LMS report.

I hope this starts you off in the right direction. If you're still stuck, I'm willing to help trouble shoot of specific questions, or if you need clarification on something, let me know.

  • Completion of the framework and the criteria for success in SCORM 2004

I understand in SCORM 2004 to be able to specify performance criteria and success separately means that I can put a course so that it can be marked as completed without success if a user has taken but had "deferred success" (i.e. failed ) based on views of the slide or quiz status. It helps the instructor to distinguish completion of understanding / superficial deep commitment (assuming that the quiz is properly looking).

So, I guess if I'm creating a course that is not a quiz, but I would point out if it was completed or not, I only need to define the criteria for completion in CP9. Is that correct, or should I set the end criteria and success to be the same (i.e. x % views of slide)? It might not make much difference, but I would like to know what is recommended.

    TIA

You should always set these two criteria.  So use slide views would be wise.

  • Can I modify SCORM 2004 cumulative settings in Captivate?

I'm building a multi-SCO SCORM 2004 using Adobe Multi mode of SCO and am interested in adding / changing settings of Rollup. Anyway to remove this directly in Captivate (9)?

Or do I have to change the package with the Reload Editor instead?

    Thank you.

Spoke Joe to Rustici and he helped me with sequencing rules:

This added to each at the level of the SCO in the manifest:

And then adding another set of tags of sequencing on a global scale:

  • CP8 reports mark no percentage of LMS using SCORM 2004 3rd edition

    Hello

I have 24 questions and when I answer 2 questions correctly, I get a score of 20, (each question being worth 10 points), but it is possible to send to the LMS a percentage and not an overall score?  This LMS not calculated but just shows what is sent which is confusing for the learner.  I use SCORM 2004 3rd edition.

    Vreten salvation,

The Captivate will calculate the pass and fail criteria as per your setting, LMS is certainly involved in the calculation of the success-failure, what ever captivate report he saves just and the author. Therefore the values of partition is reported by captivate and is a way to document side LMS.

Consider whether captivate report % then in this case captivate do so useless calculation to find out the percentage by weight of each issue and then report it. NOT A GOOD IDEA.

The percentage option is to define the criteria of passage but when even the passage is based on the partition only, finally when captivate decided to pass/fail, the captivate student calculate the percentage that is similar to the way that the teacher of the class calculates and then compare with percentage of passing. Depending on whether the marking of the LMS is done.

  • Mode multi-SCO does'nt works with scorm 2004 (captivate 7)?

    Hello world

I recently published a mutli scorm using 7 Captivate and scorm Packager multi.

Eveyrthing works very well when I publish every scorm 1.2 content and use multi conditioner after scorm. It works very well in my LMS (moodle and Dokeos).

But when I publish each content scorm 2004 and after use multi scorm Packager, my dish does not work in my LMS. A new window is open, but nothing is displayed.

    multi socrm.png

Anyone has the same problem with mutli scorm Packager captivate 7 and scorm 2004?

    Best regards.

Test your SCORM 2004 content on SCORM cloud. If this works it OK, ask that your Dokeos contact what with their LMS when it comes to SCORM 2004.  Not all support LMS SCORM 2004.  But there are a few different editions of SCORM 2004.  Captivate allows you to set up your output for 2nd, 3rd, or 4th edition.  Perhaps Dokeos supports only one of these results.

  • How SCORM 2004 maintains the results of the Quiz at the same time.

How SCORM 2004 maintains the results of the Quiz at the same time and we can manage this is core PHP or XML.

    Sorry, no.

As I mentioned above.  For information on SCORM works, you must go to the SCORM website and read their information.

  • The Millionaire (CP9) game can send the results of SCORM 2004?

This is the game of interaction. Can you follow the score and the results of each question?

No, sorry. Although some training interactions have a variable associated with the score that can be attached to a game interaction is acquired when the game is played. That's all. More information in my blog:

  • CP7 SCORM 2004: what a State of success must be sent to the LMS?

I see success sent only the quizzes passed with the completion status. However, I would like it to be sent on a slide, with the sent on quiz completion spent.

Success seems to be sent when the completion status is changed from unknown name in complete or incomplete, even if you have it set to trigger on a slide.

  • Presenter Edition 11 SCORM 4.

It seems that I can't choose edition 4. (from SCORM 2004) for my presenter project 11. Our LMS gives a warning when trying to download the edition version 3.

4 edition is not available in presenter 11 (when it will be?) or I do something wrong?

Very little LMS support SCORM 2004 3rd edition.  Even less would support version 4.

Frankly, unless you're at a level where you are trying to use sophisticated in several courses SCORM sequencing rules I don't really think there is much point trying to use SCORM 2004 if your LMS does not seem to support anyway.

For most of the course SCORM 1.2 is quite adequate, is the SCORM version an LMS all will try to support.

  • The SCORM standards for the Multi-SCO mode

Is the only standard of SCORM 2004, which works with the Multi-SCO mode?

The Multi-SCO mode don't dismiss other standards through publication of Captivate settings.

It works with the two SCORM 1.2 and 2004 but not AICC or TinCan/xAPI.

  • Camtasia Studio 8.6 interactive video interactivity disabled when downloaded as module first Adobe SCORM.

    Hello!

I used Camtasia Studio (version 8.6) to create a short video with an evaluation questionnaire. The way it works is, during the production of the video I tell the software to produce the SCORM package. I imported the SCORM in Adobe first, but interactivity is not displayed. Please see the attached video that illustrates what the interactive quiz is supposed to look like

    Hi Thomas,

We checked the issue and managed to reproduce if Camtasia is published with SCORM 2004. Can you please try with SCORM 1.2 and see if it works?

  • Having a problem with the editing of the files zip to SCORM

I created two Captivate training using almost identical PowerPoint presentations; they are related to their respective PowerPoint presentations. However, when I publish my Captivate training in the form of files zip with the same settings, it is almost double the size of the other to be compressed. Also, when I try to download the two files to SCORM Cloud, only the file smaller can be successfully download. The larger file is rejected as an error. I think that some information is being duplicated during the zip process. Help, please.

I would eliminate all ampersands in your file names and try again

In addition, you publish a SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 other.

  • To make a call via Interface JS SCORM?

I'm working on a Captivate 9 module to send progress of module as a percentage through SCORM 2004.  Statement for this module requirements are that we must follow the results of the quiz and drag the points of view, particularly followed percent completed rather than simply 'on course'.

I created a function that follows the progression of module through percentage and which stores it in the variable 'x', which is done via the JS interface.

What I am struggling with is the real appeal of SCORM.  I'm trying to use cmi.progress_measure, but in my tests through SCORM cloud, I don't see a hint showing that a call is currently being made to cmi.progress_measure (I see other typical calls for cmi.suspend_data, cmi.location, etc...).

I tried to use the following combinations:

    SCORM_CallSetValue('cmi.progress_measure', x);

    var CaptivateObj - document.Captivate;
    CaptivateObj.SCORM_CallSetValue('cmi.progress_measure', x);

I also swapped 'SCORM_CallSetValue' to 'SCORM_CallLMSSetValue', but I had no luck.

    Any suggestions?

Update: I have found the correct call.  It should have been:

    SCORM2004_CallSetValue ('cmi.progress_measure', x);

  • Variables user and SCORM 1.2 have forgotten

    Hi all

When I publish a SCORM 2004 courses all variables user remembers one session to the next, but when I switch to SCORM 1.2 they do not. Does anyone else have this problem and/or recommendations?

    Thank you!

    Mark

It is possible that due to the size limitation of FLAVIE 1.2 suspends data, that CP does not save this info. You can write it yourself to the cmi.comments using JavaScript and repopulate the variable in the case of reintroduction.

  • How do the SCORM version change in Captivate 7 Multi-SCORM Packager

I'm trying to use Multi-SCORM Packager to publish a course to a LMS system that uses SCORM 1.2.

I open Multi-SCORM package manager > select the pre-test or post-test Rollup > and the popup clear details of the itinerary shows the SCORM 2004 version.  From Adobe on the Multi-SCORM indicates that you can change between 1.2 and 2004, but I can't figure out how.

Any help would be very happy.

    Jay

    Hello Jay,

    Welcome to the Adobe Forums!

I would like to inform you that the ability to change the version of scorm comes only when you combine scorm using multiple SCO.

If you select restore Simple or pre-test or post-test Roll-up him you won't be able to choose the version of scorm, it will be scorm 2004 default.

    Thank you
