Screenshot blank if permissions are "guest."

I have an application that allows the user to take a screenshot. It uses the following method:

screenshot (Bitmap bitmap, int x, int y, int width, int height)

Permissions for application if the screenshot permission is set to "Prompt". When the call is made, as expected, it appears a dialog box asking permission [Allow/Deny]. Even if allow is enabled, I get a blank screen capture.

If the do not show the box is checked, the following calls are successful and I get the picture.

If approval of the application is "Allow", then return it also successfully.

I confirmed on Blackberry OS version 4.5. I'll update the post when I try it on other versions.

I'm not sure that this is a problem or not, I've never fired it.

The solution that I use is to ask the user to do it again.

  • Share permissions are not applied to new files in a shared folder

    Hello

I'm trying to share videos from computer to Tablet. I prefer to use anonymous access, so I turned off password protected sharing in network and sharing Center. Then I shared the video folder with everyone and give them read-only permission. I provided by the security that my user account is the owner of this folder. It worked, I could access my files on the tablet. But then in that case. I created my bittorrent client to put the downloaded files to this folder shared and discovered that I do not see these files to the tablet. It turned out that this read-only permission has not been applied to new files in the folder. The parent folder itself and all of its subfolders, all files that were there at the time wherever I shared it had permission, while the files added after that didn't share. More confusing is the fact that when * I * create a new file in the folder, he * gets * share permissions, but not these files settled by utorrent.
For the moment the only way to do this I have bypass see is to re - apply manually share for each new file permissions in the folder whenever he appears here, which I find extremely frustrating. So I thought I could use some help.
Sorry for my bad English, I have described the problem as best I could. Hope that's at least somewhat clear what I'm trying to achieve. I would appreciate all the advice really!

Thanks for the reply. FixIt did not help and articles on sharing you suggest to use a working group which I prefer not to use and generally only covers for use of base which I am familiar with.

I did some research and I think I have located the problem: the root folder's NTFS permissions are not inherited by these new files. When I "Replace all permissions of child object with permissions inheritable from this object" security-> Advanced dialog permissions applied as well as NTFS share permissions. But then again, I have to do this everytime manually, which is annoying. So, what could be the cause of it?
  • What permissions are required to download a VM from vCenter with 11 workstation

    Greetings,

Currently, I'm using VMware Workstation 11 to connect to vCenter server. I do not administer VMware infrastructure but need to download VMs in vCenter Server on my local computer by using the workstation. However, when I try to do that, I get the error message "vim.fault.NoPermission." I have permission "Virtual virtual machine download Machine.Provisioning.Allow", but this doesn't seem to be enough. What are the additional permissions do I need to achieve this.

Also as a separate issue. What permissions are needed to download a VM on vCenter. We do not need this feature initially, but it would be nice to know if we want to implement in the future.

I appreciate all help you provide.

So after enough effort, I solved my problem. One of the things I noticed is that whenever I tried to do a download from the workstation, I noticed a newspaper get created called OVFTool.log. That's what tipped me off to this particular process using the OVFTool to run and complete the operation. This data, I started researching the permissions needed to perform operations using the OVFTool. I came across this article from VMware:

Near the top of this document, he asserts that the privilege required to export a model from the FVO is vApp.Export. I thought "Hey it's worth it." So this was the authorization that has worked. We also paired up back all other permissions and determined that this is the only permission to download a virtual machine of vCenter.

  • Can not open Illustrator CC 2015, read/write permissions error, but the permissions are set correctly.

I can not open Illustrator because of this error.

"To work properly, Adobe Illustrator requires permissions of folder preferences be"read-write..." »

Link support on the error message suggests to change permissions to a file location that does not exist. All permissions are set to read-write, and no changes have been made since the upgrade to 2015.  Uninstalling and reinstalling did not work.  Very frustrating to pay for a product that I can't use.

I solved the problem by resetting the permissions of my entire disk (apply to items included...). I still can't explain why it was necessary after the upgrade to 2015 from 2014 CC CC.

  • What permissions are good for?

    Hello

in the Orchestrator, there is a sections with permissions, where you can create permissions a card/linking objects in the inventory.

What are these authorizations good for?

Is there a documentation about it (found nothing in the guides...)?

    see you soon,

    Joerg

    Hi Joerg,

Permissions are a legacy feature that predate the acquisition of VMware Orchestrator. When prioritizing the work of documentation required for the vCO 4.0, permissions and policies slipped to the bottom of the list, because these features duplicate functionality that vCenter provides.

We do not recommend that you use vCO permissions or policies.

  • Permissions are not updated with replacement of already compressed file

    Thanks jim,

Now, I am able to replace the already packed file after adding line in the package configuration file.

Jim, I tried to replace a file already compressed with more permissions in application package. I mean previously I locked the permission to copy, but when I was replacing the file I have authorized copying. The code returned xml enabled copy permissions but copy console admin permissions are still under the previous name.

Please suggest me how to change the permission with the replacement of the file.

    Kind regards

    Truth Mangal

You can modify the permissions by launching calls admin ManageResourceKey endpoint, with action = "update", by specifying the resource id and new permissions that you want.

  • With the help of a USB FlashDrive on brother's computer - file permissions are different

    Hi all

I have a small set of files on a USB key that I brought with me during a family visit.  So, I used time (Toshiba) of my brother and my sister-in-law (Vaio) computers.  I saved a few things about the USB when I arrived (using Vaio) and everything worked as usual.  When I started to use the Toshiba, all the files on the flash drive were not available.  It's as if the permissions have been changed.

I tried to make changes through sharing, changed the permissions for the folder of level higher - and made sure that the subfolders and files have been included, unchecked the 'read only' box for this folder.  Nothing seems to work, at least not completely.

Many files will be accessible, but some are still "locked".  It doesn't seem to be any model to which are which.

Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?  If nothing is 'bad', how can I change it to my flash drive works in any computer as if it were before?

    Thank you!

You must enter possession records level superior while on the machine your brother, then grant full access to "everyone".

  • Display turns off as soon as the administrative permissions are required

Many programs require administrative previledges to run (i.e. they want to check the updates and install them).  At the beginning I felt the problem was due to display drivers, but now I'm sure that this is due to the system you want to put a request for administrative permissions.  If I run several programs as administrator, they will run correctly.  I tried to change their properties to include 'run as administrator' but I get a blank screen and I assume he's asking for permissions.  It seems that the system performs a swift in view to request the permissions my diver display cannot handle.

  • What permissions are required for access to VMware Workstation?

I need to provide access to a few virtual machines in our environment vSphere for a user through VMware Workstation 9.0.2 but questions.

There are 3 virtual machines in a folder under models and virtual computers that this user needs access base (start, stop, console). I first tried assigning the role of user (sample) of the virtual machine to the user on the folder that contains these VMs (with spread), but trying to access one of them workstation as long as this user, I get the error was refused permission to perform this operation. I even tried to assign the role of administrator for this user on this issue and received the same error.

Then, I assigned the user (sample) of the virtual machine and then later the role of the administrator directly to the virtual machines, but when you try to connect through my computer I get this error with or the other role (I have attached the log file, it refers):

    VMware error 1.PNG

After clicking on OK, workstation breaks down, and then I get this error:

    VMware error 2.PNG

The only way I could successfully get this user access is by adding the user to the local Administrators group vCenter Server, but after doing this, the user has full access to all virtual machines. I should also mention that Im able to access the virtual machine with the basic functions assigned via vSphere client to web without problem with permissions above affected as this user.

Does anyone know what is required to provide access by workstation I'm looking for?

    Thank you!

    Figured it out!

First, for each virtual machine that you want to grant access, to add the user/group with the assigned role, you want to give them. An additional step required for access to the workstation is, for each host you granted access to the virtual machines are on, you must also add the user/group and assign the read-only role, making sure to uncheck propagate to child objects.

So it's similar to the thread above, but avoids having to explicitly revoke access to each another VM on the host. So now, when I log in as a user with that I was testing, I can connect to vCenter via my computer, only to see the VMs Ive applied custom roles to and, especially, can connect to them without problem!

Also, it seems that even if work stations invite you to assign read-only permissions to the host is not actually do something.

Thanks a bunch for all the help everyone... especially ShadyMalatawey. If I would not have seen this prompt in my computer to apply the permission he would have had much more time to understand.

  • What vCenter permissions are required to retrievePropertiesEx()?

I am trying to determine the exact permissons necessary to make createContainerView on the root folder and the retrievePropertiesEx() of appeal to get different properties on objects such as VirtualMachine, data center, network, file, etc..

    Anyone know?

    Hi kellybyrd,

According to the doctors of vSphere 5.1 CreateContainerView and RetrievePropertiesEx the following privileges are required:

    CreateContainerView: privilege System.View

    RetrievePropertiesEx: privilege System.Anonymous

More general each method specifies the required privileges in its documents in the section required Privileges

    I hope that's what you're looking for

  • What permissions are necessary to deploy from EGGS/OVF

Our environment is vCenter 4.1 ESXi 4.1 U1 and U1. We have a lab multitenant environment where users are isolated with Pools of distinct and separate VMS, storage and network resources. Users are all these directors.

They want to be able to deploy templates of the OVA/OVF, but they get this error (attached image) at this stage. I would like to know the minimum permissions required to allow this, without exposing other resources of tenants.

I tried to recreate the environment in my lab. I assigned a test user within a pool of resources, network, file VM folder and folder on drive 'administrator' privledges. I then imported the OVF for CapacityIQ without any problem.

To troubleshoot further, I deleted the access to the list of resources and could choose is no longer a host. I then restored that and removed access to the network folder and got an error saying that I had no right to a network to assign the FVO to.

  • for months now, I can't watch anything with flash, as it insatlls but does not work, it is defined as still active in the list of addons, and the permissions are active

I 35.01 FF and can't watch videos requiring flash, it installs ok (or seems as indicated in addons with correct version number) and is set to "always active" in the addons, and I set the permissions on some sites to 'always', but nothing helped. I have now returned to use IE, I would prefer to use FF, but this problem is driving me crazy.
    Thanks in advance

Dear john99 Further info, I disabled plugins RealPlayer and as you can imagine, they seem to interfere, I activated the flash stopped again, them off and flash now works. Thanks for you input it was greatly appreciated. I can now safely, go back to my beloved FF :)

  • How Firefox reacts if different permissions are removed?

An application called Manager of advanced permissions is available for Android which allows the user to reinstall other applications like Firefox) with various permissions removed. Since I have no need for webrtc I would like to be able to remove the permission of sound recording, for example. Firefox will still work ok? How about if I withdraw the authorisation of location? Firefox would reflect this condition permitted return to the site that asks for information about the location?

If you delete a specific authorization then Firefox will not be able to use this feature.

For the location, it would be to make an offer that leads you to your current location and WebRTC features that require this service.

If you do not use these features that should not be a problem and you can still reactivate if necessary.
