  I need to add some user interface elements on top of some Aboriginal points of view.

  When you add native components on screen (alerts Native, composer compose SMS-notices, send compose view, MapKit, etc.) they are superimposed on the full application of the AIR.

  I have no control over this overlay and so I can not put AIR-interface elements user above these views.

  So... what I try to do is:

  -take a screenshot (bitmapdata) of the component (e.g.: MapKit, or even the entire screen)

  -hide the native element itself

  -Add the bitmapdata to the displaylist AIR

  -Add the necessary UI during this bitmap elements

  -presto

  But the native components are not part of the displaylist, so I can't take bitmapdata of them...

  So my second plan was to capture the bitmapdata natively as a UIImage, that converting a bytearray and pass it to the AIR.

  Then convert the bytearray in actionscript it back an image, etc.

  It sounds like a lot of work (I'm not even sure it would work) to get a screenshot of the native view or the entire screen.

  How do I take a screenshot of my iDevice and use it in flash?

  And please don't tell me to use the cameraroll, I do not want to store dozens of screenshots of the user interface to the users device.
