• Change the name of the project that is used on the server of RoboHelp for reactive HTML5

  I use Adobe 2015 to publish Responsive HTML5 in RoboHelp Server 10.

  When I publish the project, it seems to name the file, the name of the project. So, if my project is named Cool_Blue, he the published under Cool_Blue. Is anyway to change this name? I know that WebHelp Pro you can set the name differently. I've looked everywhere and can't find how to do, so any help would be appreciated.

  Nita, I think what you're trying to do is change the name of the project in a shorter file name while in general, you will have the shortest paths. If this is the case, you must simply renaming the project, then delete leftovers from the project a longer name on RoboHelp Server and you are home free.

  So, if you want to change the name of the project (rather than the name in the 'bar' of the browser, you must change the project name by going to > file > rename project)

  This s a warning reminder that to publish a project renamed on RoboHelp Server, you should remove the other oldest and republish the newly appointed project.

  So looking at your screenshot posted previously, the CIE would be to use sensitive available, but it could appear as

  Name: CIE Type: Responsive HTML5 Date of publication: etc. You should not "WebHelp" version if I understand what you're trying to do.

  I add the following text because there was some confusion because of new workflow in RoboHelp 2015 and the new RoboHelp Server 10.

  With regard to the "naming" confusion I'll try to decompress it. There has been some changes in the publication of things since the release of RoboHelp (2015) and, now, RoboHelp Server 10. For example:

  1. What we once called "Single Source Layouts' (SSL), we now call for 'outputs (SSL).
  2. It used to be that if you have been published on a Server of RoboHelp, it was mandatory to use an exit called WebHelp Pro.
  3. WebHelp Pro is still alive and well and can be used to publish in RoboHelp Server 10.
     EXCEPT when you want to publish sensitive HTML5 content to the new RoboHelp Server 10.
  4. In this case, if you post the more modern layout Responsive HTML5 option, it is appropriate to use a sensitive of HTML5 (SSL) output and select a HTML5 compatible screen available in the Pod to set up output.

• Why the subjects in my project RoboHelp disappear after update to RoboHelp 2015?

  After the upgrade to a RoboHelp 10 to RoboHelp 2015 project, all the themes of the project are deleted when the subjects are then updated. The project is a document linked FrameMaker - updates as planned, but when I update the headings, one of two things occurs:

  1. Links are broken and all the topics appear in the 'Broken links' folder, or
  2. All subjects simply disappear.

  (Running Adobe Tech Comm Suite 2015 on Windows 7, 64-bit; RoboHelp being updated to v12.0.2.384; FrameMaker, set updated to v 13.0.2.433.)

  I had a few successful update of the subjects if I update separately each 'chapter' in the book, but if I use the option "update all the ', the results are as shown above. And, as you can see, the results are not compatible. This happened with two projects that I have converted in 2015 of RoboHelp.

  I find no information about it in the forums. Screenshot below is included to show the effect of ' update all ' in a project.

  I appreciate any assistance with this annoying quirk!

  I tried your steps exactly but it works very well at my end.

  Try this: in the project folder there is a file named .cpd, delete this file and re - open the project in RoboHelp and then update the book connected to FM.

  Try it and tell me if it solves this problem.

• RoboHelp 2015 - the Page is not found

  I am trying to create a topic that links to a Web page in Robohelp 2015 using the sensitive HTML5 output; However, every time that I discovered the output and select the topic, I get the error below the screenshot of the properties of the Table of Contents Page. The link works if I paste it in a browser, however. Can someone help me understand what I am doing wrong? I often do this in Robohelp 10.

• RoboHelp 9 - problems generating WebHelp

  Hello!

  I use RoboHelp 9. When I try to generate the main provision (WebHelp), my books and subjects are not. The contents, Index, search and glossary are (even if nothing happens when you click on them), but the rest of the screen is empty. I've included a screenshot.

  

  Anyone know what could be the problem? He worked a few weeks when I built last, and I don't think that I made any change... so I am at a total loss.

• RoboHelp HTML version 9 edition failed to connect to RoboHelp Server 9

  As an administrator for our RoboHelp Server (version 9), I created "Author" rights of access for a person.  This person is a technical writer who works remotely.  He tried to publish his Office RoboHelp HTML (version 9) to our RoboHelp Server software, but has encountered an error in publication. What is causing this error and what would be a solution to this problem?

  The publication has been cancelled.

  The connection has failed.  Please check the connection and post it again.

  Native error. Not allowed.

  BTW, in the setting of the screenshots, it is best to use the camera icon, you see in the toolbar when you write your answer.

  My guess is that some kind of configuration of the authorization was missed.

  It is also difficult to know where to start because the author is "remote." What is VPN? Or remote desktop or what?

  I'll start with the obvious.

  It could simply be that when the author generates the SSL Pro of WebHelp, the Edit Destination dialog box may be incomplete. I myself did fill the news shows this screenshot, I forgot to choose a box help or put in a wrong password. So, definitely check this first.

  

  Then, you or your administrator must check the user account, group and the area of the author is correctly configured.

  This screenshot shows that a group was created (in this case, called authors) and individual users have been assigned.

  

  Finally, the Group of the authors must be assigned to a region and publication rights .

  After that, it might have something to do with the remote author permissions to access the destination of publication (the machine that RoboHelp Server) from a remote location and has nothing to do with the side of RoboHelp permissions!

• Why is it suddenly impossible to open my project RoboHelp 8 HTML?

  The project I worked on - since years - this cannot be opened in RH8, morning all I get is a window of RoboHelp with the title of the project right at the top, but totally empty - nothing except "Ready" in the low messagebar!  No message, no warning, no tab, no subject, nothing (screenshot below).

  Finally, I worked on it the day before in the evening.

  Of course, this project is the online help for our software, which is should come out very soon, and I am the sole author of technology in society... so it is urgent to save the project.

  A few facts to start with:

  • Version is RoboHelp HTML 8.0.2.208, running on Windows XP, using MS Office 2007.
  • The project source files are kept in SVN, that works pretty well, because it keeps the files to work on my C drive. I commit transforms it into SVN (the only possible change is that I was safer in the last days to initiate the project each morning before opening)

  • Nothing has changed recently, except for the usual updates of content in the topics.

  • A colleague who does not work on this verified project my project SVN files and was able to open the project on his PC - so the problem is probably not in the project itself.
  • A 8 of RoboHelp for Word, also in SVN project opens successfully on my PC.

  Here are the steps I've tried so far, without success:

  1. Revenue to the version of the eve of the SVN project
  2. Remove the (huge, almost 41MB) project. CPD file and double click on the. XPJ file
  3. Restarted my computer.
  4. Uninstalled RoboHelp 8.01, 8.02 and 8 and re-installed RoboHelp 8 from the CD, download the 2 patches 8.01 and 8.02.
  5. I have NOT installed the files Adobe suggested, of whutils.js, since I was not sure if they are really for RH8 and we do not use JavaScript in the project.

  If anyone can suggest what might happen, so I would be very grateful.

  I do not have RH8, but these steps should be similar.

• Search for "highlight search results' tab of localized WebHelp shows wrong characters (RoboHelp 9)

  I tested it with several WebHelp skins, including the default value and in French and German.  The text "Highlight search results" in the Find tab in WebHelp poster this for Spanish: 'Como resultados of the Baºsqueda' and for the French: «Highlight search results»  I found on some other posts that this is controlled by this file in the output: whfform.htm.  I edited the following line in this file (gsHiliteSearchTitle = "Como resultados of the Baºsqueda"), and the WebHelp is displayed correctly.  However, I have to do whenever I generate WebHelp, because the file is not in the source files.  I've tested this locally and on our Web server, so I don't think it's a problem with UTF-8 on the Web server.  In addition, it is the only place where this happens in the WebHelp.  Everything else is OK.

  Someone know how to solve this problem, or do I report a bug?  See screenshot below.

  A RoboHelp engineer sent me this in an email, which solved the problem:

  "Please go to la! Language! folder in your project folder and open es_ES folder. Open the RoboHHRE.lng file in Notepad. Look for the "FtsHilitePrompt" variable in the file and see that its value is not corrupted as it is in the output. »

  That's what I did: the RoboHHRE.lng has been corrupted (using the spelling "Baºsqueda" - attached).  I made a copy of the original and renamed her "RoboHHRE_old.lng".  I edited the original file with the correct spelling of 'search' (search) in "Como search results" and the WebHelp now displays correctly.  (Same French).

• "HH_GET_WIN_TYPE has not been specified" in Robohelp 9 HTML

  Hello. I know that this error has been around before, but I have found no solution to my problem. I imported a Robohelp x 5 Robo 9 HTML project, and everything seems to import fine. I compiled the project and everything works except when I try to go to a topic by clicking on the TOC link. Then I get the error "hh_get_win_type has not been clarified" and if I click on the message, subsequently, it will go away, and then the section will open correctly. (All links in the main frame work correctly without error message). Obviously, I need to fix it before you send it. A specific window that he mentions is not used in the project settings, so I just can't remove it. Does anyone have a suggestion for this? Thank you, Mark.

  Well, one more thought. There is a space to specify the default window for the table of contents and Index. I think that under the button Advanced Settings change the screenshot posted above. See if the default window in the tabs of this dialog box have the incorrect window selected.

  Step 1 - create and insert a Concept, at the end of the number 3. Select Tools > Concept > Concept window or press SHIFT + F9 on the keyboard opens the window pane Concept, there is a button with an arrow to the right. If you press this arrow, a thumbnail below. Then, if you place the pointer over the thumbnail, you get the screenshot full size. Is it possible to do the same thing with RoboHelp?

  If there is, I would be grateful for clues as to where I could find some sort of explanation step by step. I can't find in RoboHelp 8 online help, nor in the PDF file. And if there is no such thing, at least the key words for the main functions of the procedure.

  Anyhoo, I'm writing to offer a more complete picture. The real effect is called a DHTML drop down in RoboHelp. This is what the effect is in RoboHelp which allows clicking on a link and to reveal something hidden just below where you clicked.

• Index tab appears in RoboHelp HTML

  I use Robohelp HTML version 8.

  When you view a properties of the topic, the general and advanced tabs are displayed, but I have not found how to display the Index tab in this version.

  This option is not available in version 8?

  Thanks for the screenshot. I see what is happening now. You see the properties of the Page Table of contents is not the properties of the actual subject. This happens when you click on properties with the table of contents page selected. If you have the cursor inside WYSIWYG in the topic (or select the topic in the list of topics or project pod pod) right-click on it and select properties in the topic, you will have the Index tab.

• Naming files in RoboHELP 8

  Hi all

  In my most recent thread, they advised me naming of output in a merged project files and how they should not contain features underscore or non-alphanumeric characters. Please people can advise if this should be extended to all or part of the following:

  • XPJ project name
  • file section names (these show highlights if you insert a space in the fielname or when a duplicate of the topics is titled used always includes spaces.)
  • IE screenshots included in the graphic file names

• Help! Someone at - he published successfully with RoboHelp HTML8 and Robo8Server

  Is there anyone out there that can help me get our published projects?  We use RoboHelp HTML (8) and 8 Robo server.  We strive to publish our projects one by one and merge on the server and:

  1. We still receive the error message that I have attached.

  I join our SSL properties and the installation of the server.  We are really desperate for this to be resolved.  We were supposed to have our operational support system before the end of 2009 (of course it didn't happen).

  Some basic information:

  • We converted 5 Robo to Robo 8 in July (do not know if this may be at the origin of some of our problems)

  The error message indicates a problem of permissions between your computer and the server. Were not filled in the fields username and password and I didn't know if they are really empty, or if you let just that out for this particular screenshot. Those who must obviously be filled.

  Have you ever publish 'normally' as expected before that? Or is - this just happened out of the blue?

  Two things would help us.

  1. in a web browser, log in as the Web Administrator and see if all the projects appear in the admin dialog boxes. The "Projects to merge automatically" box is checked?

  2. ask to your web administrator to examine the Tomcat log files to see if there is any obvious link problem. Newspapers are in this way. C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\logs

  You say "we". How many authors publish on the server and all of the authors have a problem, or just you?

  Let us know what's happening and we'll go from there.

• Problems with TrueCode HTML in RoboHelp 8

  I struggled the "Real Code" in RoboHelp 8 HTML editor.  For some reason, my code is really spread out and difficult to change.  I have attached a screenshot.  Any ideas how to fix this problem?  I already tried to remove and reinstall the software with no luck.  We have several other RoboHelp users in my office, and none of them has this problem.

  Welcome to our community, apollo321

  What offered Colum is certainly valid. However, based on your screenshot it seems you are maybe by clicking on the home and be puzzled as to why the home page cannot be displayed. If this is the case, you must configure the point home to display the desired page.

  In RoboHelp 6 accomplish you it as follows:
  Expand the Windows username folder
  Double-click the CHM window and you should see the properties of the window
  Click on the Advanced... button properties
  Fill in the field titled "Home".
  Recompile the project

  Note that you can really put anything on the ground. You can insert a web address like http://www.google.com , or you can point to a topic in your help system. If you want this area to open your default topic, you must type the path and the name of the default theme.
