Search for "highlight search results' tab of localized WebHelp shows wrong characters (RoboHelp 9)

I tested it with several WebHelp skins, including the default value and in French and German.  The text "Highlight search results" in the Find tab in WebHelp poster this for Spanish: 'Como resultados of the Baºsqueda' and for the French: «Highlight search results»  I found on some other posts that this is controlled by this file in the output: whfform.htm.  I edited the following line in this file (gsHiliteSearchTitle = "Como resultados of the Baºsqueda"), and the WebHelp is displayed correctly.  However, I have to do whenever I generate WebHelp, because the file is not in the source files.  I've tested this locally and on our Web server, so I don't think it's a problem with UTF-8 on the Web server.  In addition, it is the only place where this happens in the WebHelp.  Everything else is OK.

Someone know how to solve this problem, or do I report a bug?  See screenshot below.

Thank you.

Gina

WebHelp character issue.jpg

A RoboHelp engineer sent me this in an email, which solved the problem:

"Please go to la! Language! folder in your project folder and open es_ES folder. Open the RoboHHRE.lng file in Notepad. Look for the "FtsHilitePrompt" variable in the file and see that its value is not corrupted as it is in the output. »

That's what I did: the RoboHHRE.lng has been corrupted (using the spelling "Baºsqueda" - attached).  I made a copy of the original and renamed her "RoboHHRE_old.lng".  I edited the original file with the correct spelling of 'search' (search) in "Como search results" and the WebHelp now displays correctly.  (Same French).

  • I use google search. When I click on a suggestion contained in the results tab of the search, I want it to open in a new tab and keep the search results in the original tab. How?

For example, when I enter the search term "cabinets" and get a page/tab search results with suggestions such as Sears, JCPenney, or Amazon, I want to be able to click on Sears and open the Sears page in a new tab/page. I want to be able to close the tab to Sears and use the search results tab.

Google offers a framework for this. What it does, it adds a HTML (target = "blank") statement to every result link, which causes Firefox to open in a new tab. If you uncheck the preference to divert new windows in new tabs, Firefox will then open the result in a new separate window.

This preference is stored in a cookie, if you clear your Google cookies often, so you'll need to reset every time. You can do so here:

    https://www.Google.com/preferences

(On this page, Google refers to a new window.)

  • Why can I not see the emails of the search results in the files in offline mode?

When you perform a search in Thunderbird, if the result is in a folder offline, clicking on that result to view the entire email will show nothing. This "bug" has been present for as many years as I use Thunderbird (a very long time).

    1 create a folder offline.
    2. drag a bunch of emails from a direct IMAP folder to your folder in offline mode.
    3. perform a search that will give you results from this folder in offline mode.

You will be presented with a list of snippets of email, but no result that resides in a folder in offline mode will be completely empty when you click it. The conversation list and the content of the email will be empty.

Menu (Alt + H) help > troubleshooting information
    Click the display folder
    Close Thunderbird.
Remove the global messages file - db.sqlite
    Restart Thunderbird.

I repeat: Thunderbird successfully research and shows me a message body my search results - even from local folders. He shows me the same partial email bodies. It is when I click on a result that nothing happens.

Probably because the index is not received the message of movement and is looking in the old location.

  • Links of search results Google does not load (not a direct new problem)

    Simple problem:
1 enter a term for Google to search for (either using the Google toolbar installed or via his landing page).
    2. the results are returned correctly.
    3. However, the returned links open in the same tab of search result, or in a new tab or a new window.
    4. Select the link in the search results tab does nothing. Firefox seems to be a momentary load try before remaining in the same place.
    5. launch the link in a new tab/window returns a Google long-chain based on the prefix (i.e. www.google...) address in the navigation of an empty tab/window.
6 addresses returned by the search can be copied and pasted into new tabs/windows to load without a problem. Research process of Google to normal using this query works since IE every time.

    Test: "Energizer Bunny".
    Returns the link: www.Energizer.com/Energizer-Bunny/pages/Bunny-Center.aspx
    Has address: http://www.Google.ca/URL?SA=t & rct = j & q = % 20bunny energizer & source = web & cd = 1 & ved = 0CDYQFjAA & url = http %3% 2F % www.energizer.com%2Fenergizer-bunny%2Fpages%2Fbunny-center.aspx 2F & ei = ruYyT47cIYHjiALj69XGCg & usg = AFQjCNHg-eabuCQBx6Bv36V9F4pN4tQRYA & cad = AJLN

Note that this is not the Google redirect problem that many users have encountered, but something different.

Suggestion of John99 above that the cause of the problem is a problem of update of Google I think is correct. The discussion link: https://support.mozilla.org/forums/contributors/708153 indicated that Mozilla is working with Google and that a cancellation would be promulgated.

Although I can say this was done because the Google search function works again (from 4 PM MDT). I tried with some queries from first time and they worked as announced. All features have been restored.

(For the record, cookies were already on my machine but I clear them and hide according to the first answer - that didn't work. No other solves above I only implemented. "So as far as I'm concerned, he was a"problem of Google", it was a"fix Google").

Hope that affected everyone else now has the same experience. Thanks to those who offered their intelligence.

  • Links in search results does not open new tabs.

I'm missing something here and in other threads on this topic. I used to be able to search in the google search bar, for example, and a new tab opens with the search results. So if I left clicked on a link in the search results another new tab open and go to the linked page.

I don't remember how that was put in place, but I know that I didn't have to enter: config or install a special plug-in for it. I think that it has been implemented in the mixture of label more module.

I have no problem with search results, open a new tab, it is that I must now click on a link or right click + click 'open in new tab '.

What has changed here, and why? My old method worked in ver 21, he turned into worm. 22.

It seems that all these "updates" remove stuff that we used to have without notice and then come up with more finger clicks and config edits to make what was simple before.

For the search bar in the Navigation toolbar, you can set the browser.search.openintab true pref on the topic: config page.

For the Google Web site, you can make the change to the Google search settings page you can open through the gear icon on the Google results page.

Note that you can always force a link to open it in a new tab on middle - clicking on the link.

This also works for some entries in the context menu and some buttons (home, registration in the back and front button drop-down list etc.).

  • How can I have the search results in a new tab?

When I search something, regardless of the search engine used, the search results appear in the "active" tab Is there a way to configure Firefox to open a new tab and show the results of the research in this new tab automatically? Yes, I can do it manually by opening a new tab, to do research, but it would be much more "user friendly" it would be automatic.
I use an Apple Mac Pro running Mac OS x 10.7

To avoid extra keys or the steps and make the option to open search results in a new tab (or not) easy and convenient, install this add-on:

As long that the checkmark next to "Open in a new tab", a new tab opens to the search results. Click the icon in the search bar, far left and click "Open in a new tab" to check or uncheck this option.

  • Firefox recently started opening new tabs when I click on search results how do I get this to stop

When I use Google and I click on a search result, it opens a new tab, where it used to just take me to a new page in the tab I was using, I searched on the tabs tab in options and saw I could choose to open in a new window, but I don't see an option to open it in the current tab. It started to arrive from nowhere.

Found a setting in Google that said to open all the result in a new window that I guessed that Firefox has been the substitution and open it in a new tab as suggested settings unchecked the box in Google and now the behaviour is back to normal.

  • By clicking on a search result from goole seaech bar, always opening google search homepage but cannot open search in a new tab by clicking medium, really frustrating.

Whenever I am clicking on the results of the search from the Google search bar, it always opens the homepage of Google. I can only open in a new tab search results by clicking twice. It started when I installed Firefox 12.

Off all extensions and on each one. Everytime you had to restart the browser. The problem is resolved after you turn off the 'Indian Rail Info App 4.78 Firefox' extension. He worked with previous versions of Firefox but the problem came with the installation of Firefox 12.
    Anyway, many many thanks.

  • I want to erase the search results for certain searches. When I search for some keywords I get old SERPs that I know are not up-to-date. If I use a different machine, I get the current results. I can't find how to clear it.

I am tracking my own Web site position in search rankings. For a short period, he appeared on page 1 for certain keywords. It is now on page 2 or 3, (as seen by me and other users when you use another computer or a browser), but when I search on my computer I see the old pages of results showing the top of page 1. How can I erase these old pages of results?

If you press Ctrl and F5 at the same time, that changes? I think that Google (I guess that's what you're referring to the) changes in search results is inspired by a little if you are connected and preferences, etc.. Try to connect on google if you are connected.

  • How to make Firefox open search results in a new tab instead of on top of the already opened page?

When I do the search via the search engine on the upper right corner, the search results open on the top of the page I see right now, instead of in a new tab, so I keep forgetting to open a new tab before every search. How can I change this, open the results in a new tab?

    Subject: config
    Set the browser.search.openintab

  • When I look for a file in Win Explorer, I get a list of files in the search results. But some of the files seem to be missing. I get a message that the directory is not found when I try to open the search results.

I wonder if what's on my hard drive and if what Win Explorer is on my hard drive are two different things.

If I do a search in Win Explorer to "purple", I get a number of results.
(To search for a file, I am in the word "Purple" in the search field in the upper right Win Explorer and pressing the "Enter" button).

There are a couple of JPG files that I wonder about the search results.
    One example is called "purple_flowers.jpg".
When I double-click this file in the search results to open it, my paint program opens and gives me a message that the directory is not found. If I use MS Paint to try and open it by double-clicking on the file and selecting "open with...". MS Paint", I get a message that the directory is not valid.

The location of the directory on the error message is the blue 'Images' folder for my user. But, when I opened this file, I don't have a file with that name in this directory. The same thing happens with another JPG file, called "octopus.jpg" when I search the word 'Octopus '.

Is this something messed up between what I have on my hard drive and think what Win Explorer is on my hard drive?
    How can I fix?
Something must be reset in Win Explorer?

I could have the JPG files with these names at the same time. I had a large library of images for a project, but I deleted it.
(I tried to turn on the option to show hidden files in this directory, but that did not help).

    Imane:

I thank very you much for that answer.
But it seems to have stumbled on the solution:

    Strangely, this worked:

    (Maybe you know why).

I moved the files in my blue images folder in another folder, delete the folder images blue, emptied the Recycle Bin and rebooted my computer.

When my computer has finished its startup routines, my folder of photos blue was there! And he had the shortcut to the folder 'Sample Pictures' inside.

When I searched "the Octopus" and "purple", I no longer saw these JPG files in the search results.

I don't really know what happened, but I thought that after these results just in case someone else knows this.

I'll read and watch in your information. I don't want to know more about what is happening in my computer.

  • The search results in Windows Explorer not always highlighted.

Windows Explorer in Windows 7 is just great!

But why is not always highlight the results of research (especially the Word documents) is beyond me.

In a typical search result list displays some highlighted, others do not. Why is this?

The highlight appears only if it exactly matches your search term.

  • Click on search for result code doesn't display the line containing the search results

I use the latest version of DreamweaverCC2014 on the latest version of Mac Mavericks. I use Dreamweavers find and replace to find code in an open html document. In the search results Panel results aren't clicking on me at the relevent code line in the document. It used to work well in the previous version of DW, I was using.

In the DW help note it is said: ' display the results of a particular search in context: select window > results to display the search panel. " Double-click on a line in the search panel. If you are looking for the current file, the Document window displays the line containing that search result. ' http://helpx.adobe.com/Dreamweaver/using/Text.html#search_for_and_replace_text

Double-click does not display the line containing the result of the search for me. It seems to work OK in my CSS files, but not in HTML longer (1010 lines).

Any advice? Someone at - it the same problem? Thank you

I have the same problem with all the HTML files that have external style sheets. for example .

So it seems to be a bug around that. When you delete the above, double click functionality works.
