  Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my question.  In the near future I will have a cluster vmware small I need to generate reports of use of resources on.  I saw a tool called queryperf which seems to provide for all my needs and then some, but I'm not sure how get or use this tool.

  I normally just jump on an esx host and try the command to see if I have it but I'm traveling at the moment and do not have access to one.

  To wrap this up, I'm very keen to learn the following:

  How no one acquires queryperf?

  Where the tool lauched from?  (by this I mean: guest operating system, command-line esx host, ect)

  How to run on a cluster vm instead of a single server/client integer.

  I'm not aware of a tool called queryPerf, but there is a VI API method called queryPerf() that allows you to query the performance data of your vCenter/ESX (i) /VM (s) http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vc-sdk/visdk25pubs/ReferenceGuide/vim.PerformanceManager.html#queryStats

  A great place to start to look for some samples or past issues/scripts/utilities that could be used to question the different associated performance stats is the VI API forums: http://communities.vmware.com/community/developer/managementapi?start=0

• Perl script for deploying a virtual machine template

  Am looking for a perl script for the deployment of the existing models on Vsphere virtual computer. So far, I got access to the virtual machine. I saw that there is a utility called new-vm on the powershell. I'm running a linux machine and therefore seeking an alternative to perl. Kindly give me pointers or help me with some documents.

  Well, I managed to create a virtual machine from the template using the vmclone.pl script, which is part of the vmware sdk. But post creation that he's not leaving means VM State is off. I'll have to find a way to start the virtual machine as well.

  A few answers to your questions

  1. you will need to get an ISO of the CD of CentOS and store it somewhere on a data store.

  Once this is done, you can use the cmdlet Set-CDDrive with the IsoPath parameter.

  2. use the cmdlet New-VM , something like that.

  I am trying to install for VMware NCPS on vMA so our UPS can stop our guests.  I get the following message (see screenshot): 'this version of Powerchute Network Shutdown only supports VMware ESXi' but I have ESXi.

  I tested ONLY vMA 4.0 can worked with 2.2.4 PCNS not vMA for ESXi 4.1 4.1. It is because of authentication problem "fastpass vi" between 4.1 and ESXi 4.1 vMA found in opt/APC/PowerChute/group1/bin/shutdownhost.pl.

  Again, you can install NPC on vMA4.1 by making a few minor changes. Basically PCNS 2.2.4 always look to ' / etc/vima-liberation "during installation and vMA 4.1 already changed to ' / etc/vma-release. If you make a symbolic link or edit the installation script.

• When you run the script via VMware tools when power changed, some commands in script (as a copy) has failed.

  First copy the files on local disk was OK.

• Mode script for ANY c ++ function

  My goal was to use the pxi 5406 to implement features of frequency sweep. Right now, we use only the functions on the list of the frequencies of creation. There are four modes of release for the frequency list, signle, continuous, step by step and burst. We use the bleachers through fashion. It is painful to use this mode, since for each frequency, you need to send a rising edge, so if I have several hundred, it means I have to produce this amount of rising edges. This will generate a lot of buffer in another analog card.

  The 5406 has the ability to run script mode. Only for her output modes are Standard function and frequency list.   I am looking for two 10 GB switches to low price without perfomance high-end to create an environment of demonstration NSX. VMware NSX has only one requirement difficult and an option for the integration complete.

  • Support IGMP (HA hybrid mode but optional in our test configuration)
