Script to collect the "Master page-text-content of the framework" details

Hello

The collection "Masterpage - TextFrame - content" Indesign file details.

If the spread of the master page text frame, I need to retrieve this text frame content in separate folder. If it possible by Indesign script?

Thank you

  • Master page text frame does not appear on the pages of the child of the master

    Why a block of text on my A-master (indicated under control) does not control the size of the blocks of text on the pages of the children of this master? Is a likely answer that I placed the text on the pages of the child until I entered the text block on the A-master. But even at this stage, when I create a new A-master, there is no block of text at all, in order to recreate and redo the problematic child pages appear not to be a solution. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    When you click on the Plus sign next to a master page to create another master page, it does not inherit the master page objects. It simply creates an empty template. If you want the new master page to inherit the objects, then right-click on the desired master page and choose 'duplicate page.

    As child pages are concerned, Yes, they should inherit all objects and properties of the master page. It's really weird if his past is not for you. What happens when you right click on the page child and apply desired master for this menu?

  • My client needs to change the text that appears on every page of his site, but in the edition browser is not make changes to the master page text. Is there a way for him to do? A special widget or something?

    He wants a place on the header of every page of his Web site where he can post his latest information in real time every day. If he had his way, it would look like a strip of tickets transiting via the header of each page. I was going to include it in the design of the master page header, so all that he would have to do is update the copy on the master and it would update the header of each page. But in the Assembly browser does not work on master pages.

    Is there a way to do this? Even if it's an a widget that has been done by another Member of the community of Muse?

    Thank you.

    By BC you can change the template or page that would change the display, but if the new site is updated to Muse then he would cancel the change.

    Thank you

  • Master page text frame, CS3 question

    I use a master page to an inside page of the chapter has a couple of different text blocks: one for the header, one for the text and one for the folio, etc..

    I made a change to the largest block of text, where will the majority of the text. Rather than update the pages, I now have a dotted line showing me where the new 'top', and I need to drag each individual up to respond to this text block. I know I'm doing something wrong, because it's crazy.

    School me! What Miss me? Not to mention that the brain cells?

    Thankee,

    Chryss

    The main text blocks can be useful or a waste of time. I almost never use them for content of the body, instead the margins of adjustment to the size of the text block. ID will use margins to create new images on all pages it adds.

    That said, if you threw text in the frameworks of masters and the images on the live page is not updated when you change the master, it implies that you have already changed the size of the image on the live page. It is unlikely, in my view, if my guess is that you are not really masters executives. It's pretty easy to think you are, but to make a new image instead.

    The idea is to look at the loaded cursor and see if the form is modified to include the parentheses. They indicate you want text in an existing framework. If the frame is bounded or crossed by guides, it is important to click in an area away from these guides. ID will use the entire frame. If, however, you click on a guide, ID will ignore the existing frame of master and make a new one. One way to tell is to drag the form part of framework filled the page and see if the main frame is always present (dashed lines).

    Allowing the page layout setting can help in a situation like this, if blocks of text actually affect guides, but there is no guarantee, and it must be turned on BEFORE you make a change to the document.

    If you provide more information, and perhaps a screenshot of the page master, we can give a better answer.

  • Can not unlock a Master Page text boxes

    Hello

    First think first: Adobe InDesign CC for MAC, OS X 10.9.1.

    I received a file from a client with a lot of master pages. Now, what intrigues me is that at point, the designer uses a master page (title on bottom - Y) to add text on the footer, which foot is then used on the rest of the master pages. Each master page contains three layers: text, Images, frames blue boxes.

    Screenshot 2014-01-08 21.48.15.png

    Then he created another master page (Z - Footers_Page #).

    Now, the delicate issue.

    There, initially, locked down titles that have been on the layer of text boxes. I unlock them.

    Screenshot 2014-01-08 21.49.55.png

    Then, I went on my page document to sselect this footer text and put a little smaller, but only on this page, not on every page of the document. Usually, this is done by clicking on the desired text block while pressing command + shift. It did not work.

    I checked the master pages and noticed that the page that I tried to change used the Z Master. So, I thought that the master might have locked up too substantive text. So I went to this basic form and I noticed that the text boxes containing footers is not locked but has not yet shown on any of these three layers.

    Screenshot 2014-01-08 21.50.19.png

    I tried the command + shift + click on the boxing of text containing the phrase ending by... Central Virginia, to make it editable. No question. They are not shown in the text layer boxes.

    The only text boxes, I can change are the page numbers.

    Screenshot 2014-01-08 21.50.43.png

    However, when I do the layer of invisible text boxes, all the footers disappear, including those I can't edit at all.

    Screenshot 2014-01-08 21.50.30.png

    I started, so I was wondering. What is going on? Commands like show all on the spread or unlock everything on spreads are gray. So, how do I change this line on a single page.

    There is a little professional manner, but I preffer to learn before doing the amateur work.

    Thank you.

    Sebastian

    Select master z doing Ctrl A to select all the items on the master. On the flyout menu go to Master Pages/Allow Master item overrides on selection.

  • On the Master Page text field

    I have a couple of text fields on the main Page of this repetition on the other pages. I want that the user can enter information on the first page and do not have access to the other pages. Is there a way to get there?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Yes, this can be done with a small script in FormCalc in the layout event: loan of a text field.

    if (this.parent.index gt 0) then
              $.access = "readOnly"
    endif

  • Request to modify the script to collect the CPU Ready in percentage by VM instead of milliseconds

    Hi all

    I would ask for help here with the script that I found in this forum by Mr. LucD to collect % VM CPU ready to be changed according to the famous formula for calculating the percentage of CPU of VM ready:

    ((Valeur de sommation UC / (< intervalle de mise à jour par défaut graphique en secondes > * 1000)) * 100) / number of vCPU = CPU % ready

    From my understanding, the script must be changed because:

    1. Don't divide the percentage CPU Ready by the number of vCPU for each virtual computer
    2. The refresh interval is not set 'for a week. for simplicity, this script will be used to collect last week performance data ($start = (Get-Date). AddDays(-7))

    Note: The refresh rate can be found this KB: VMware KB: conversion between the summation of values CPU and CPU ready %

    the purpose of this script is to classify VM of the result is greater than 10% determined as having problems with CPU Ready. Article source: http://docs.media.bitpipe.com/io_10x/io_107330/item_605784/Basic%20VMware%20vSphere%20Performance%20Guide_201211.pdf)

    I have tested and run script below:

    $allvms = @()
    $vms = Get-VM
    $start = (Get-Date).AddDays(-7)
    $metrics = "cpu.usage.average","mem.usage.average","cpu.ready.summation"

    Get-Stat -Entity $vms -Start $start -Stat $metrics |
    Group-Object -Property {$_.Entity.Name} | %{
      $cpu = $_.Group | where {$_.MetricId -eq "cpu.usage.average" -and $_.Instance -eq ""} | Measure-Object -Property value -Average -Maximum -Minimum
      $mem = $_.Group | where {$_.MetricId -eq "mem.usage.average"} | Measure-Object -Property value -Average -Maximum -Minimum
      $vmstat = "" | Select Time,VmName, MemMax, MemAvg, MemMin, CPUMax, CPUAvg, CPUMin, CPURDYMaxPercent
      $vmstat.VmName = $_.Group[0].Entity.Name
      $vmstat.Time = $_.Group | Sort-Object -Property Timestamp | Select -First 1 | Select -ExpandProperty Timestamp
      $vmstat.CPUMax = [Math]::Round($cpu.Maximum,2)
      $vmstat.CPUAvg = [Math]::Round($cpu.Average,2)
      $vmstat.CPUMin = [Math]::Round($cpu.Minimum,2)
      $vmstat.MemMax = [Math]::Round($mem.Maximum,2)
      $vmstat.MemAvg = [Math]::Round($mem.Average,2)
      $vmstat.MemMin = [Math]::Round($mem.Minimum,2)
      $vmstat.CPURDYMaxPercent = &{
      $interval = $_.Group[0].IntervalSecs * 10
        ($_.Group | where {$_.MetricId -eq "cpu.ready.summation" -and $_.Instance -eq ""} |
      Sort-Object -Property Value -Descending |
        Select -First 1 |
        Select -ExpandProperty Value) / $interval
      }
      $allvms += $vmstat
    }
    $allvms | Select Time,VMName, MemMax, MemAvg, MemMin, CPUMax, CPUAvg, CPUMin, CPURDYMaxPercent |
    Export-Csv "C:\TEMP\AllVMs-7days.csv" -noTypeInformation -UseCulture

    I hope that this will be the most useful script to understand where particular VM is experiencing problem with percentage CPU Ready.

    Thanks in advance,

    I have my version here, I use to use of the CPU.

    . LOGBOOK

    This unique feature provide several reports and information. IE: convert ready value into a readable format (for real-time, day, week, month, year).

    . DESCRIPTION

    This unique feature provides multiple information of esxi host, as the list below.

    The CPU usage of the virtual, Mhz, the use of the processor CPU ready computer

    vCPU allocated to the VM (jailbroken in the casings and core)

    VMHost name

    Information physical VMhost CPU (jailbroken in the casings and core)

    To convert between value of CPU ready summons in vCenter performance tables and the value of loan % of CPU that you see in esxtop, you must use a formula.

    The form requires that you know the default update intervals for performance dashboards. These are the default update for each chart intervals:

    Realtime: 20 seconds

    Last day: 5 minutes (300 seconds)

    Last week: 30 minutes (1800 seconds)

    Over the past month: 2 hours (7200 seconds)

    Last year: 1 day (86400 seconds)

    To calculate the % of CPU ready of the summation value ready CPU, use this formula:

    (Value of summons UC / ( * 1000)) * 100 = ready % CPU

    Example: Stats in real-time for a VM on vCenter may have an average CPU ready summation value of 1000. Use the appropriate formula values to get the loan % of CPU.

    (1000 / (20 sec * 1000)) * 100 = 5% CPU ready

  • Script to collect the VM name and total size on disk

    I'm trying to find a script that will display the following information:

    • Name of the virtual machine
    • The total size of the VM (vmdk)

    I thought I saw one here before, but can't seem to find it anywhere.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    You get the error by using the function, because the function expects an object of VMware.VimAutomation.ViCore.Impl.V1.Inventory.VirtualMachineImpl and you give a VMware.Vim.VirtualMachine object. If you change your part of the code in:

    # Connect to VIServer
    Connect-VIServer $VIServer

    #Initialise Array
    $Report = @()

    # Gather VM Size Information
        $AllVMs = Get-VM
        ForEach ($vm in $AllVMs){
                $Size = Get-VmSize($vm)
            }
            $Report += $Size

    $Report | Export-Csv "C:\VMDiskSize.csv"

    # Disconnect from VIServer
    Disconnect-VIServer $VIServer -Confirm:$False

    He will not give an error. But this does not also give the desired output because it will give you the total size of the disk of all virtual machines.

    You get the expected result:

  • Alternating the sides of footers for chapter use master pages

    Hi, I am creating a pdf with Chapter Book 1 appearing in all the footers on the left page (in Chapter 1) and securities of Chapter 2 in the footers on the right side of all pages (in Chapter 2). So far, I have only one master page, a master of two pages with blocks of text on two pages. After that I did this master, I dropped my text and it autoflowed. I then did a second master page based on A master called B-Chapter 2, with chapter markers on the right side instead of the left. I then applied this master to the relevant pages, and it went well. However, now that I did it, I have more control over text blocks in Chapter 2 by using master pages. What have I done wrong? I would like to have layout as described, but still be able to adjust the size of all blocks of text in all the chapters, using the master page text frames. Is this possible? Basically I want to alternate the secondary section appear on the titles, but retain control of executives text via master pages. Appreciate any thoughts.

    Object styles can not control the dimensions of the image. The good news, however, is that if managers of it line up on the cues you can activate the page layout setting BEFORE you change the page size and the images are resized automatically.

    tell each page

    tell each text block to create outlines

    tell the end

    tell the end

    In the documents that I have the conversion, many of the type is defined in master pages, if I want to add a command in the script that replaces all master page items before converting vectorised text, but I'm not find this command in the dictionary. Does anyone know how to do this with Applescript?

    The substitution command would be a good starting point. Try something like:

    say application "Adobe InDesign CS5.

    Repeat with I 1 to the number of pages

    override (each element of the master page of the page elements I which leave substitutes is true) destination page page I

    I got the code base of other scripts. I've pasted below. He collects only results for esx server in view of the need to modify the code for the above requirements.

    $servers = "server0″", server1″

    $account = "root".

    $password = "password".

    $servers | % {$a = plink - pw $password $account@$_ "esxupdate query"

    {$server = $_}

    Thanks in advance!

    Have you tried running the script in the powershell console?

    May be a problem with the vesi script editor.

  • How do the text field of the script on a master page to show a total of retail

    I'm trying to become familiar with LiveCycle Designer and need to know how to have the fields on the master page to reflect the detail for each page totals, then a master total at the end. It's for printing only output so I guess that the script should run on the server, because I saw this option.

    Another question: where can I find documentation for this so I can read other things myself? I have difficulties to find a path to what I need on the Web site. Thank you

    It can be done, but it implies some level of script. I was going to create a sample for you but thought that it would be easier to your screen. If you provide I'll put something together for you. Make sure you incode I can work with a data file.

    If you want to try it on your own, here is a post that describes:

  • Is no longer, I can choose any text, images or tables that I put in a landscape master page that has a different text than the rest of the document stream.

    I tried to follow these steps to set up a master page to landscape:

    http://blog.rockymountaintraining.com/Adobe-FrameMaker-adding-a-landscape-page-to-a-PORTRA TI-document.

    After experimenting with these options, I choose is no longer any text, images or tables that I had put in my new master page of the landscape. The content is somehow now on another layer that I can't.

    Any ideas on how to recover my content?

    Have you added [another] master block of text to the page? If so, you may have placed one above the other. Try to select the main text block and move it slightly to see if you have another below it [who is probably your content].
