Script to get multiple IP addresses by vm?

Hello

I have several virtual machines with vNIC 2 or even 3, each with different ips, I'm trying to get the list of the vm name, different IP addresses and the dns name, is it possible?

I found a script and modified some parts, but I don't have the first IP.

$VMs = get - VM
{foreach ($VM to $VMs)
$VM = get-view $VM.ID
$nm = $VM.name
$hn = $VM.guest.hostname
$ip = $VM.guest.ipaddress

The only difference I see is that my script retrieves the IP addresses of the object of comments.

Which is only filled when the VMware tools are installed.

Which could explain the difference?

Maybe try my script but then with $_. IpAddress, so instead of $_. Guest.IpAddress.

    Of course, you could do something like that

    This assumes that your CSV file has the following columns

    Host name, VMname, ipaddr, netmask, gateway

    BTW, the cmdlet Set-VMGuestNetworkInterface uses Invoke-VMScript to launch one of the scripts that you find in the folder the PowerCLI installation directory Scripts .

    If you take a look inside one of these BAT files, you will see that it is also using the netsh command

  • Script to create multiple virtual machines model works is not for the network adapter variable

    We are working on a script to create multiple virtual machines from a template. The script works fine, but when we try to include commands to set the NIC to a group of specific ports on a dvswitch script errors on. Here's what we have so far. This script (less network variables) works, but we would like to include the network configs in the script as well.

    This is the part of the script that configures the network/dvswitch adapter... but does not work properly.

    You cannot use the - model and Networkname - parameters of the cmdlet New - VM in a single order, because both are in different parameter sets. You must first create the virtual machine and then use the cmdlet Set-NetworkAdapter to change the portgroup of the virtual machine. As in example 4, assistance from cmdlet Set-NIC:

    No T_ROWNUM2 should be 0003.

    I made a copy of your page to make corrections.

    There are several problems.

    First you where submiting T_ROWNUM2 whereas you would use: t_rownum in the pl/sql code.

    I changed the name of the element in the f_set_multi_items_tabular2.

    Secondly you where now affecting the rownumber f03_0001 for the first line.

    Resulting XML returned as follows.

    I changed the following text in the show_lov.

    I also had a compilation of pl/sql code error, there was a); missing the end of the last item. Fixed that too.

    But why do you think lpad won't work for lines 10 and more.

    LPAD ('10', 4, '0') will give "0010"

    LPAD ('100 ', 4,'0 ') will give "0100"

    LPAD ('1000 ', 4,'0 ') will give '1000'

    So unless you have more than 9999 lines you would have no problem.

    Here's a vSphere SDK for Perl script that extracts the MAC addresses for all your virtual machines - http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-10490

    You should be able to take it and translate it into any language vSphere SDK you plan to use. Basically you'll be listing through virtual hardware for the virtual machine to search for devices of type VirtualEthernetCard and then retrieve the MAC address of each device.

    You print at the end, $row instead of $report.  Also, one of your VMs have more than 1 NIC, if so you don't catch him.  Here's another version using the cmdlet will return all the Macaddresses.

  • Get the IP address of the virtual computer? (when no DNS available)

    I have a strange setup where I have a server vCenter runs in a private network that has no DNS available IN-HOUSE.  I am running the scripts that query an IP address range, but takes forever to run.  I can run get - vm and get all virtual machines, but can't do anything with them because there is no DNS and I can't find a way to enter the IP address of the virtual computer.  If I could get the IP addresses I could then run functions against them.  If it makes a difference those VMS have two network cards: Public and private.  Any ideas?

    The Get - VM cmdlet returns the IP addresses to the title of Guest.IPAddress count of the first IP address use as well:

  • Satellite Pro L300 - 12 H did not get the IP address of the DHCP router via cable

    My Vista Premium SP1 laptop is connected via a wireless connection to a modem/router ADSL Buffalo WBMR-G54 model that works very well. However, I tried the other day to connect the NIC via a RJ45 cable to the router and it won't work! I get the message "limited connectivity" and an IP of 169.254.xxx.xxx that suggests he does not get an IP address from the router.

    I was on various websites and tried all sorts of things as uncheck ipv6 on the properties of LAN card, put off the power of the DHCP Broadcast flag in the registry (according to the number of micrsoft) etc but nothing works.

    Anyone have any suggestions to make it work?
    NB: I took the laptop in work and plugged into the Windows 2003 Server network and got a DHCP IP immediately!
