• Stop the scrolling jumpy behavior

  When I initially opened a window that has a scroll bar (Finder, Safari, Mail), it momentarily displays the full view of the content of the window at the top.  However, after a very short time and after that I stopped any scrolling, content jumps down from a line (or section) content, lost the material at the top of the window.

  I can scroll upward to view the content at the top of the page, but when I take my hand off the mouse, after another moment that content breaks down again to lose the sight of these bits.

  For example, on this forum, the black line on top (with different options 'tab' white text) is lost.  In a window of Finder, in list mode, this is the first line of text that jumps out of sight.  In Mail, it is the first item in the list that moves from view (for the list of messages) and it is the upper bits of the message in the messages pane.

  It doesn't all the time but often enough to be annoying.  FWIW, oddly enough, I don't think I'll have this behavior when I force a scroll to the top of the window using the trackpad.

  Is there a way to stop this behavior to jerk upward?

  Welcome to Apple Support communities.  From what I understand from your description, it looks like at any time, you open an application that displays more content of the screen and you stop scrolling, your screen is "jump" to the next page/section/line by itself without any intervention on your part.  I can certainly understand why you contacted us about this!  I would find it difficult to read what's on my screen, if the content "jumped" every time I removed my hand my mouse. I'd be happy to help in any way I can.

  First of all, you don't mention what version of Mac OS X you have.  Update software on your MacBook is always recommended and would make sure to have the latest versions of Safari, Finder, Mail, and other applications included in Mac OS X.  The following documents will help you back up your MacBook and update your operating system:

  You mention using a mouse, and that this behavior of the screen will not occur when you use the trackpad integrated.  Is an Apple mouse (wireless Magic Mouse or USB model)?  If it's a third party mouse (not made by Apple), then you will need to check with the manufacturer to see if they could have updated drivers for it, or if there might be some settings that cause this problem.  Another useful troubleshooting step would be to try this in a user account 'test' to see if it happens there, too.  Who would tell us if the question is to scale the system, or simply in your account.  Use these instructions to create a user 'test'

  From your MacBook in safe mode can help determine if starter or connection elements are originally your scrolling problem.  It also removes the font caches, hiding the kernel and other files of the system cache.  Title of the article says it's to El Capitan (OS X version 10.11), but the instructions are the same for other versions of OS x:

  I have a problem when I apply a horizontal scrolling.
  I create a page with a horizontal scrolling.

  But when I saw the page, scrolling is jumpy/choppy.

  It seems as if the objects (or all of the site) are jumping up and down really fast.

  PS: I use the last version of Muse CC. My computer is an iMac with Mac Os X Yosemite.

  The problem is solved thanks to a very capable cat of Adobe service.

  I used the button on the top (the one next to the design) and that has created problems.

  Instead, I used the command + shift + e, which opened the preview in the browser directly.

  Now, there is no scrolling jumpy!

• The scrolling behavior is not smooth after update to Mac OS Sierra

  After that the macOS update Sierra the scrolling behavior has changed, does anyone have same experiences?

  I can still scroll trough a Web page without a problem. I mean the scroll with 2 fingers on the touch pad or scroll with the magic mouse gesture.

  BUT: In trying to slowly scroll through long lists of selections, just answers touching on fast movements, not on the slow change.

  Steps to reproduce:

• Weird behavior of Firefox in Facebook when scrolling down

  My Firefox has a weird behavior when I open Facebook and start to scroll, I have attached two images, first image is when I open facebook, everything is ok (I dimmed the contacts), second image is when I start scrolling down, you will see square masive black with blue navigation. That happens only when firefox is "enlarged" and not with windows. I also try to disable all addons or run firefox in safe mode I have also reinstalled it and the problem is still there. Have any suggestions, which could be bad, also if forgot to tell you that any information not hesitate to ask and I will it provide.

  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button

    

    click Help

    

    then select restart with disabled modules.

  If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
  • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
    (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

  When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

  

  If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

  To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

• Linux Firefox 38 Scroll Bars change (for worse) behavior

  With the update for Firefox 38, the scroll bars are are suddenly bad. The correct behavior for Linux scroll bars when you click on above view indicator (the part that you can move) is to move to the top of the screen and when you click below view indicator is to move to the bottom of the screen. When you the Middle click in an invisible box, it moves you directly to this part. And you can enter the indicator and drag it anywhere.

  With 38, when you click above or below the indicator view, it now moves you directly to this part/area rather than move to the top or the bottom of the SCREEN. This is not another Linux applications - LibreOffice, claws, Pluma, Thunar, etc.. It is inconsistent and a mess of support. Worse, I searched on the preferences and about: config and I cannot find a way to put it back the way that it is supposed to work (as it did in Firefox 1 to 37 and even Netscape Navigator). What is going on?

  I understand that in the linux version of Firefox, there is a difference in the way that scrolling works in version 37 and 38.

  There are two places that control smooth scrolling:
  Subject: #advanced under 'Général' preferences there are scroll smoothly.

  However if there was a change in the update, please post if there is not always an improvement.

• Tecra 9100: Jumpy cursor and scrolling are not smooth.

  I have a problem with my Tecra 9100 that after moving my cursor for a few seconds, he rushes toward what direction I pointing me. It's very annoying.   Optimisticly, I formatted C drive and put on a new installation of Windows to see if that would solve my problem. Surely, he would do?... Nope. How I download the driver of my laptop MouseWare comes with?... Still does not solve the problem.

  I run out of ideas and do not think that my problem will be solved by a software update. I think it's to do with my hardware (namely talk, hard drives). I have 2 hard drives. Either way, the error messages "delayed write failed" appears on both my hard drives.

• The table of fixed size control: avoid behavior "scroll enter."

  I have a table control that will be always 6 rows of 8 columns.  I want to prevent the display of scroll that would display one or more empty lines at the end of the table.

  I tried to turn off 'Scrolling selection' in the menu contextual and disabling "vertical scroll bar see the" under properties - appearance.  However, even with these two parameters, if the user creates an entry in the last row and press the Enter key, the table scrolls a line and exposes an empty line at the bottom.

  Is it possible to remove this behavior?

• Strange behavior of scrolling in TreeView

  I'm observing the strange scrolling behavior in a simple tree. When I am developing nodes, the exchange of the vertical scroll bar position, i.e. the node that I develop, changes its position. It is unusual (I have never seen this in a toolkit of user interface or application I have used so far) and is problematic as far as where the user experience is concerned. Is this a bug or do I need to clarify is that somewhere?

  It's a little embarrassing. It seems to behave correctly if the tree does not scroll down (although the exact behavior is more subtle, I think).

  I have filed applications to "tweak" to JIRA.

  BTW, there is probably something wrong with my code model because the tree completely falls apart, when I collapse node '19' once again after that.

  The model is very good (except that it explodes if you expand the nodes deep enough to overflow integers). The problem is that you forgot to handle the case where the cells are empty in your implementation TreeCell. You need

• Trackpad X201T questions - randomly try to scroll, other bad behavior

  Sometimes, my trackpad will flip out.  If I'm scrolling with my fingers, it will stop moving and decide that I said to start the scrolling, or whether I want to zoom text or he stops in his tracks and put the cursor in the window cursor move.  Sometimes it will stop and then start moving in a semicircle, and so it seems to be really sensitive.

  Yes, I did.  I have a new piece of wristrest with the new trackpad from Lenovo.  It tooks weeks to arrive.  Corrects the problem absolutely.

  We are looking for help on a 4.5 AIR Flex application deployed in a tactile desktop environment.

  We are developing some kind of a kiosk application before all designed for desktop computers (mouse). Recently, we tested on a touchscreen used with a stylus or fingers (not a mobile device but a touch screen connected to a computer), all run smoothly without modification the touch events on the screen being interpreted as an interaction of the mouse by the driver.

  So everything works fine, but of course the user interface is not designed to be manipulated with the fingers and especially the scrolling of the list behavior is not suitable: the desktop AIR application displays the vertical scroll bars and buttons to scroll the list up and down, but usually in a touch screen, you scroll the list by dragging (touch something and drag up or to the left element is not selected because that you moved the finger before moving it to the top)

  I know this behavior for a Scroller exists in flex 4.5 in a 'Mobile' project (apparently, it is possible to compile a 'Mobile' project in a desktop AIR app...?)

  So my questions are:

  (1) is it possible to implement this behavior 'mobile' a drop-down list to a desktop AIR application?

  (2) as a general rule, it is possible to set installation (by configuration or almost) 'style' of the application (by 'style' I mean the size and behavior of the components to be handled by a mouse or a finger). It seems possible that the logic behind the component does not change, just the size (if it is a button or the behavior of scroll if it is a list and so on...). Is this something related to skin? or maybe a theme?

  (3) what is the difference between a "desktop AIR application" and a "mobile app" in Flex Builder 4.5? (both project seems to have the same compiler arguments, etc...) ?

  In a project Flex desktop, you can activate the scroll key defining interactionMode = 'touch' on the list.

  Good afternoon and I hope that your well today.

  I'm a little uncertain of what your question is exactly, but maybe that what follows will help.

  There are two methods to create a horizontal scroll bar,

  (1) with the right button of the scroll bar, and then select the horizontal scroll bar > always on

  (2) on the Panel before going to the modern > containers > Horizontal split bar.

  I guess you number 1.

  To remove it, you now have methods,

  (1) make a right click the scroll from the right hand bar (as before) and select > always off.

  (2) with the right button of the created horizontal scroll bar and select delete with separators.

  If you cannot move the scroll bar to where you want, I'll make sure that the scroll bar is not locked. You can check this by selecting the scroll bar, right click and uncheck the locked box.

  To get the results you have, I first created a horizontal separator. The selecting the right part, in the upper pane scrollbar select horizontal bar > always on.

  I hope this helps.

• Question screen scrolling very Jumpy - how can it be improved?

  I have Setup 3 MS servers Windows Server 2012 R2 Remote Desktop connection to the Terminal Wyse C10LE.  When scrolling in documents of the display screen does not clearly.  I tried to reduce the level of encryption and security settings, but still no improvement.  This is the configured RDP connections.  Running out of ideas and wyse is not much help.  Network connections are 1 GB. Here are the virtual machines.

• Strange behavior of automatic scrolling in timeline

  Hi all

  I searched the forum but couldn't find a thread on this topic... I have a strange bug/feature that is quite irritating. A few minutes after I start the first one, the timeline will start to scroll every time I have to abandon my mouse cursor to the center of the screen.   To be clear: this does not happen when I first start the first. It is generally 5 to 10 minutes in a session, and then I have to exit and restart the program to get a few minutes of peace.
