  I recently put my Windows Live Hotmail account to my default e-mail client in Internet Explorer 8 on my Windows XP SP3 System. Unfortunately, whenever I click on a link to e-mail on a Web page to open a new message, Hotmail tells me, "Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Hotmail right now", and a new/compose message window does not open. I disabled the HTTPS option in Hotmail, which fixed the problem. However, when I went to do a manual update of Windows, I am nailed with a Trojan horse! Apparently, the Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials have been affected by turning off HTTPS in Hotmail! It's 2012, and it's terribly disappointing that Microsoft only has not ironed out all the imperfections in these services now. If anyone can give me a solution (in simple terms), I would appreciate it!

  This indicates that the site is by default an obsolete encryption encryption algorithm that is vulnerable to the attack of 'Blocking' which was in the news earlier this year.

  You can turn off these old present in Firefox to try to force the site to his game. Here's how:

  (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

  (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste dhe and make a pause so that the list is filtered

  (3) double-click the preference security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_128_sha to true to false (disable Firefox to use this encryption)

  (4) double click on the security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_256_sha preference from true to false (disable Firefox to use this encryption)

  Then try your payment site. Any improvement?

  I've updated my CC photoshop today, as I do normally and after the update, Lightroom was beautiful, but photoshop has been a gray icon. The version of photoshop that opens is a weird version without many features. I can't open my regular version of photoshop, as the computer find it anymore.   What's happened is that there is an advanced feature in your update where 'remove previous versions' is checked on by default.

  But in any case you are watered. Something custom is intact. Reinstall the previous versions.

  Here's how: open your creative cloud office, go to Apps and find additional Apps value previous apps on the menu drop-down.

  Click on the arrow pointing down next to the Install and select the version that you uninstalled. Let me know how it went.

• Activation XP, updates, IE8 and Security Essentials after April 2014

  Through my church, I recycle computers that have been brought in.  They all have XP and most hard drives are removed.  I have a generic restore XP Professional SP3 disk and am able to activate XP with key code on the side of the computer through a websight Ms.  I install the XP updates usually ~ 150 + IE8 and Security Essentials.   After April 2014 I will be able to continue to help people?

  all updates will always be available, that 2014, means is that xp is more taken in charge, or in other words, no new security updates only is published, which makes xp unsecured over the internet.

  I keep trying to update and all these errors reappear. I can't install Microsoft Security Essentials and any update of Windows. I tried to do system Recoery by pressing F11 after reboot, and it does not work either.  I'm guessing that something might be wrong with the registry or there is a virus but I am not a computer wiz. I don't have the Vista recovery disc and the original disk to restart.  is it possible to fix this?

• PC crashes when Microsoft Security Essentials attempts to download updates

  I have PC with XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3.  Whenever Microsoft Security Essentials tries to update automatically, the PC hangs and I have to unplug it to make it work again.  This isn't a good thing!  Does anyone have an idea what to do?
