See 4.6 - What version of vCenter is necessary?

Greetings-

I have a (rather small) client that (3) is deploying about (6) ESXi hosts virtual machines running server. Customers want to implement a small view 4.6 deployment (about 20 customers). The customer is currently using vCenter Foundation Edition since they are only (3) ESXi hosts. My question is should the customer move to vCenter Standard Edition to implement see 4.6? Obviously if the customer is seeking to expand the number of ESXi hosts then upgrade to vCenter Standard Edition would be required but for this first deployment of view 4.6 I wanted to make sure that that vCenter Standard Edition was not necessary.

THX in advance

Joe.

There are different ways to buy.  You can buy view add on which allows you to take advantage of your existing licenses vSphere/vCenter in the environment or you can buy the view bundle which comes with vCenter and vSphere licenses that can be used to view office workloads.

  • What Version of Vcenter Converter to install?

    Hello world

New to the Group and have recently played with VMWare. Our 3 Vcenter servers run v4.1. I wanted to P2V a machine

to one of our guests and noticed, Vcenter Converter we had not installed on Vcenter server.  When I looked

to this he said Converter 4.2, installed and tried to start it. Came back with an error of not finding a configuration file and

that I should reinstall the software.  Following a vmware doc, it was suggested that I go to the Vcenter server and uninstall the

conversion software, uninstalled both the converter and the customer. Now trying to find the right version of the converter to reinstall.

Watching downloads I am presented with 4.3 standalone - it would be OK?

My apologies for the level of detail in the question, trying to FYI as well as ask.

Converter 4.3 is the current version, although there is also a public beta version of Converter 5.0 (http://communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn/beta/public_converter_50) that works really well. However, you also need to consider that comments of the operating systems you want to convert. The most recent versions of the converter do not support for example Windows NT and 2000.

  • What version of vCenter to use

We are about to build a 20 ESX host close to a new environment.

We decided to deploy the 3.5 for vSphere ESX is a bit too new for mission-critical for us. However...

VCenter being backward compatible we could theoretically deploy vCenter 4.0 with ESX 3.5 and then just upgrade to ESX4 host in the future.

I would like to just hear some comments from the other if vCenter 4 with ESX 3.5 is a good fit (what are the risks) for a new 20 host environment.

    Thank you!

I have more small environment, total, 9 guests but vCenter 4 works well with ESX3.5. I have 6 4.0 servers and 3-3.5

  • What version of Acrobat is necessary for a CS4 master ACE?

Hi people, I have not found this answer anywhere else if someone could tell me: appealed the certification Design Master CS4 Acrobat X or Acrobat 9 ACE? Or is either accepted?

    Thank you!

I guess the current version of the Acrobat application, which would be Acrobat X. That's what seem to indicate Certification pages on the Web site. I searched in the search, but couldn't find contact information.

    http://www.Adobe.com/support/certification/ACE.html

The truth is, you probably should certify you in CS5 because applications are already at CS5.5

  • What version of Acrobat is necessary to separate pages of a PDF in separate documents? Standard or Pro?

You need to be able to split a PDF file into separate files depending on what page. This standard? Or can I Pro?

    Hi asfkmg,

Acrobat Standard and Pro will allow you to cut a PDF in separate documents. Here is a great video that shows you how: https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-to-break-a-pdf-into-parts

  • What version of ColdFusion do I use Flash Builder 4?

I spent reviewing all the wonderful things that can be done with Flash Builder 4. I currently have ColdFusion (CF) MX 7 and Adobe Web Premium CS5 (which includes Flash Builder 4). I will be able to use FlashBuilder 4 (FB4) with CF MX 7 or FB4 only works with CF 8 or 9? None of the tutorials/articles-how-to resources I've read clearly indicate what version of CF is necessary.

Although I asked him, I see not my dept COMPUTER upgrading to CF 8 or 9 anytime soon. So if I can't use FlashBuilder 4 with CF MX 7, what are the alternatives any recommend development of a RIA - data editable web app (very probably with a SQL Server DB)?

FB4 is a text editor.  He might have a few bells and whistles to expedite the process, but at the end of the day, it is an application for the registration of text in files.

CF (any version from 1.0 to version 9.0.1) is an application server.  The 'short' version of how this works, it's that it receives a request to a web server, bed CFML in a series of text files, each one compiles, executes the compiled code that will generate probably more text (say: some HTML) and passes the result to the web server.

FB4 and CF have no interconnection whatsoever, apart from the fact that both work in text files: FB4 to create; SEE to read.

You can use FB4 to write source files for all versions of the CF.

I'm guessing a difference (which could be confusing the issue here) between CF and Flash as the author, is that I assume that FB comes with a Flash compiler to convert your source files from a SWF file.  CF, CF server does this automatically.

  • What version of windows is required to upgrade a desktop with Windows ME computer to use wireless internet?

We have a 2000 Hp desktop computer? with windows ME and just recently had wireless internet access. The system is too obsolete to connect even with our router. Now, what version of Windows is necessary for us to spend to be able to connect?

Unfortunately, a Windows ME operating system cannot be upgraded.  Its time to recycle that old computer and buy a new one with Windows 7 preinstalled.  Here are a few examples.

  • What version of SQL is recommended for vCenter

I work some of the largest projects we have 9 esxi hosts 10-12 VMs and Vcenter will be loaded onto a physical machine with SQL server and I was wondering what version of SQL is recommended. We are looking for in SQL 2008 or 2005 either 64-bit or 32-bit and I was looking for advantages and disadvantages for each option.

    Thank you

If you want to use the composer, then you must go to SQL 2005, because 2008 is not supported.

  • I can't find the tab to see what version I'm in help. Where the tab?

I need to be able to find what version of Firefox, I am, at a given time. One source of help that I found via Google says I should "click Help, then select about MOzilla Firefox. The version of the browser will appear on the Info screen. "But I can't find the help tab. Where is he?

There seems to be a lot more layouts possible these days that there was once.
Your Firefox is outdated - you will always have the Firefox icon orange in the upper left corner. Help is at the end of the list; About Firefox is the end of the list to help.
Now, most people will access help via the question mark in the three Bar icon.
Or, right-click in the toolbar space and check the menu bar. When indicated, the help is at the end of the menu bar.
To get a more precise answer to your version, go to Options > Advanced Options > update > view update history.
I have no keyboard shortcuts, but I think that the previous method of help no longer works. Someone may be able to bring us up-to-date.

  • Have Fire Fox 33 and need to know what version of UBUNTU to be compatible?

Have four hearts and plenty of room on the side of the memory and 33 running for yahoo and I want to go to union UBUNTU OS/Fire Fox. What version of it is compatible with 33? 32-bit, 64-bit, or what number of UBUNTU's downloads I need to run? Thanks for any help and have a good one, deedeest111

Mozilla has 32-bit and 64-bit Linux built as you can see at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Unlike with Windows, you must have enough current some packages in order to use Firefox. So any release Ununtu in recent years must manage current Firefox. As you can see the demands of 33.1 is the same since 17.0

  • What version of Thunderbird I use?

I'm used to see an 'About' option (which tells me what version I use) when I click on help, but I saw this on Thunderbird. How can I find the version? I ask because I'm trying to copy emails from Thunderbird on a Windows XP computer to Thunderbird on Windows 8 computer and although I can copy files, Thunderbird Windows 8 is not 'see' them. Its file structure is very different from that of Thunderbird on the XP machine.

  • Thunderbird does not and I need to know how to find out what version of Thunderbird I have?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, use Firefox, but know not how do I know what version. I have Zone Alarm anti virus / firewall, iolo System Mechanic and run them both regularly. I also have a g-mail account, a folder marked 'Gmail' in Thunderbird, and basically 100% of my Gmail messages come to my Thunderbird Inbox. After the opening of Thunderbird, the green "loading" round is seen turning @ low lower left says 'Download Message', @ bottom lower right, the "progress bar" shows HARDLY any green and Thunderbird takes FOREVER to load. If I try to click on an e-mail, (most of the time I don't even have to do), my screen becomes an opaque milky white and at the top of the page says "Thunderbird"(not responding). "» I usually just leave the laptop, and back in 30 minutes or so to start to open my emails. Sometimes, it is ready for me to start reading e-mail and other times, it STILL doesn't react, and I have to continue to wait. Using Ctrl / alt/del... Thunderbird highlight the Task Manager, and click 'end process' is not good. restart, OR shut down / restart also does no good.

If the files are corrupt, compaction usually does nothing good. With corrupt files, if you can remove them and empty the trash compacting should remove them. If there was something wrong with the messages, when you looked at them first, you would see that. It is the only way to detect, unless that have a way to read the whole mail accounts file.

Usually an antivirus does not show the cookies, but antispyware shows sometimes, but most just delete cookies, sometimes a little too enthusiastic.

  • should what version I? can I check it somewhere?

Re my browser - I don't know what version it is. Some sites say that they are not supported by what I, for example, required F'fox version 9 - question: How can I know what I have and how to upgrade?

    Follow this:

Click on: FIREFOX icon > HELP > ABOUT FIREFOX

Then you will see your version of Firefox and should be updated. If so you will be asked if you want to download the latest version.
