See Iso files

I want to build a Solaris machine for the 1st time on esx. Can someone advise how to make the ISO visible on the server (IE, where I need to place it. The ISO is more than 2.5 GB)

When I select the CD\DVD drive as Datastore ISO file device Type and select Browse in this context, I can see a vmimages directory, then also a directory of tools-isoimages within that.

You can place them in any willing VMFS partition space

Then you goto your VM and mount it on the CDROM by clicking on the settings of the virtual machine.

Step 1 - create the VM using the custom option and choose theconfig you need

Step 2 - after VM is created, right click on virtual machine and click on change the setting, then click on connected and connected to the power on for CD ROM

Choose the location where you copied the ISO by clicking the Browse button in the data store (check this option) and go to folder w/h you you copied ISO.

Step 3 - Turn on your VM and it will go thru the installation process

Hi I have problems with the ntdlr lack wen I start my dell inspriron. I have access to another computer, this one I am. The Cd Player does not work on this computer, it shows no more in MY COMPUTER. so I can not burn the iso file, I need for my non-functional computer. Is there anyway that I can use a usb flash drive to do the same, as if I had my vista cd. I don't have my cd of vista with me. Thank you.

It is possible, but you must first install an operating system on flash drive: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/linux/create-a-bootable-ubuntu-usb-flash-drive-the-easy-way/.  Here another article on how to make a USB Flash Drive Bootable (that may be required for other ISO files/programs boot from it): http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2007/10/16/how-to-make-a-usb-flash-drive-bootable/.

You have an Installation of Vista genuine disc.  You say that you don't have it with you, but you can get it (or borrow one from ANYONE (it must be the same bit size).)  If so, you can start at one and run a boot recovery process (after first trying a simpler solution to see if it works):

Do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to

access the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-

ISOburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not resolve the problem, try the following.  Here is an article with more details if you are interested: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927392.

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    2. press a key when you are prompted.

    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    4. click on repair your computer.

    5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    7. type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup problem, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. In doing so, you ensure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the command prompt Windows RE:

    ·        bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    ·        c:

    ·        Boot CD

    ·        BCD attrib s h - r

    ·        Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

Good luck and I hope this helps!

If this process does not work (or you do not have the disk), you can try Easy BCD at http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1 who can help resolve the startup problem.  I don't know if it needs to fire a disc, but it probably does.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Is any them other way for a fast update windows 7? or can we get iso file updated?

Recently I installed windows 7 ultimate on my pc using the ISO file downloaded from the internet, but the windows 7 was obsolete.

So, whenever I have stop my windows 7 pc begins to make the mischieves. That's because Windows 7 is automatically set on install updates.

Please, tell me any other way.

You will need to purchase a genuine copy of Windows 7:

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)

  • Can't download Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Disc Images (ISO files) with the license product key

A few months ago, I bought a laptop with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit pre-installed, used with supplied installation disc. There is a hologram sticker COA affixed to the laptop with a product key. I used this key to activate the phone without problem. I was then able to install SP1 and various other updates over time.

Recently, I decided that I should have a Windows installation disc (Windows Update has slowed to a crawl and doesn't, and I maybe to repair or reinstall it with the disk).

I have entered my product key on Microsoft Web page to 'Download the Windows 7 disc Images (ISO files)'. But I got an error message:

"The product key you have entered seems to be for software pre-installed by the manufacturer of the device. Contact the manufacturer of the software device for recovery options. »

Running 'Winver' shows that my product is authorized.

Running "slmgr.vbs - dli" shows the partial product key and license status "allowed."

  • The windows 10 ISO file will still work to upgrade my computer to Windows 7 after the date limit to install the free version?

    Original title: upgrade Windows 10

I made an iso file for windows 10. I am waiting to upgrade until all the bugs are being developed. My question is: will the iso file of windows 10 still work to upgrade my computer to windows 7 after the date limit to install the free version?

The ISO will work after the date limit, but you can buy Windows 10 after the date limit, if you don't improve and activate it before that date.

Windows 10 is delivered as a service:

    Windows July 10 release - build 10240

    Windows Update 10 November - build 10586 (with many updates depuis.13,.29,. 36)

If you want to take advantage of the free offer, you must do so before July 29, 2016.

If you the newer versions are released before then, you can always download and install when it becomes available.

You could also install it now then download updates via Windows Update as soon as they are available.

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

Then, I'll be able to do a "clean install" by downloading the ISO file.

If this is not the case, will be that Microsoft is releasing a software, "THE WINDOWS 10 USB/DVD DOWNLOAD TOOL"?

    Yes and Rufus:

    Prepare the. ISO installation file.

See the instructions for burning. ISO in Windows 7 or later files:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/burn-a-CD-or-DVD-from-an-ISO-file

You can also use the Microsoft USB/DVD tool, which is recommended for users of Windows XP.

After getting the file .iso that you use it Microsoft .iso to USB/DVD tool to create a bootable DVD or USB (requires a blank DVD or USB flash to at least 4 GB key).

    For UEFI systems based

If your computer is UEFI, they are normally the systems that come pre-loaded with Windows 8 or later, you need prepare the ISO for such a configuration file or you will receive an error during installation. The USB key must be formatted in FAT32 and use the GPT partitioning scheme. To do this, you must use Rufus, a small tool that you can download for free.

    After installing Rufus:

    • Launch it
    • Select the ISO Image
    • Point to the file ISO for Windows 10
    • Check create a disk bootable using
    • Select GPT partitioning to EUFI firmware as the Partition scheme
    • Choose FAT32 NOT NTFS as file system
    • Make sure that your USB in the device list

    • Close when you are finished
  • Windows won't let me not reset the file association for the .iso files

(Inadvertently), I changed the default program for iso files in windows Explorer and I am unable to change it back. I tried to delete the registry for ".iso" and he always acknowledges as a file from windows Explorer. When I go to the Menu 'Open with' by do right click and choose the program by default, the box to make the selected program, the default is grayed out. I try to open the disc in burner program, but the file still shows the icon from the windows Explorer. A funny glitch happens when I try it... hundreds of explorer.exe process openness raw computer. I wrote a small program to kill them all and was fine... but I really want to solve this problem, so I don't accidentally double click and create this glitch. I'm looking for any answers, but understand that I cannot solve, but learn. What is a fish without the ability to catch it?

    Hi Assimilater,

Follow the steps below to solve the problem:

Method 1: Change the Control Panel file associations

See Microsoft Help article to the following address and to change the programs that Windows uses by default:

Change the programs that Windows uses by default

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-which-programs-Windows-uses-by-default

    Method 2:

Do a System Restore to a restore point prior to the show and check if you can get the computer to the top and work.

  • Where is the "install windows" (ISO) file on my computer?

I have a Windows 7 Professional. What I intend to do is to create an ISO bootable disk so I can install a part of windows on my mac, but there is only one problem. My windows computer came with an installation disk. It automatically starts the installation when I turned on the computer. In the files on my computer, I tried to find the installation folder in the c: / windows folder, but I don't see any folder the installer, or an ISO file. Nobody knows where the file (ISO) Setup of windows on my computer. Be very specific. Any help will be appreciated.

As I said, to reinstall your computer, he has often a recovery partition that can be used to return to a factory State.   Various computer suppliers often offer an option and the utility to create a recovery media put on DVD or a USB.  This is very recommended to do what the other method is not usable, when there is a catastrophic hard disk failure.

What you can't do is create a generic Windows media can be used to install on another computer. (If you could would be to license and activation issues).

Until recently, it was possible to download an ISO and makes a generic Windows installation media.  This has been recently removed.  MS has a way to download an ISO for only retail media now.

It is still possible to buy Windows 7 on the secondary market, but media retail versions are extremely expensive.  A "system builder" OEM media is cheaper and more available.

  • Where to download Windows 8 to create an ISO file?

    Hello
I downloaded and installed windows8 by Microsoft but I need to make a bootable DVD in ISO files. If I use my product key I can download windows 8 again to get the ISO files without having to pay for a second download.
Is it possible to extract the ISO to the installed windows 8 without the need for a second download long and perhaps costly.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

    Hello Marilyn,.
Thanks for your reply. I checked the details on my summary of the order and filled in the details to get a CD-ROM of Windows 8. However it is not clear if I'm going to have to pay to get the disc. Any ideas on that?
    Thank you

The disc will cost an additional 14.99

  • Virtual machine does not start the Server Windows 2003 Std ISO file?

    Hello

I am trying to create a virtual Windows 2003 machine, I created the ISO file, downloaded on my ISO library and connected the CDROM drive for the ISO file.

When I boot the maching, I select the start menu and select the CDROM drive the virtual machine starts the ISO?

The continuous boot just on the network card boot.

It's as if the virtual machine does not see the CDROM drive?

    I use folder2iso

To me, it sounds as if the ISO created may not be bootable! How did you create the ISO file?

  • How to mount an ISO file

    Guys,

I'm pretty new on the VMWare environment so apologizes in advance for what might seem basic questions.

I want to mount an ISO of Windows 2008 file in the client VSphere 4.1.

Now when I Googled what he tells me to open a command prompt at the host and use the Assembly tool.

First question is I see a list of virtual machines, built by a previous contractor who took the site for reasons that I will not.

When I do a right click of the mouse I have a console open for each virtual machine, but what I want to do is mount an ISO file of windows 2008, so I can build a new virtual machine.

I see a name and an icon called VMCluster and under that 3 servers then under all virtual machines.

What I see is an option to go to the command line to mount the ISO file.

Can anyone please tellme how to proceed?

    Thank you

    Fred

Do you mean you want to mount the ISO in a virtual machine on a host?

If so, there are several ways to do so.

Best way to demonstrate would be: right click on the virtual machine, select "Open Console" and then in the top bar look for the icon that appears to be a CD. Click on this icon, select the CD/DVD drive and select "connect to the ISO image on the local disk.

A picture is attached below to demonstrate.
