Select a path of the pen tool

I created a path around an object using the pen tool, how can I move this object on a different background? Sorry, so new to this :/

The best way to do this in photoshop is first make the background layer in photoshop in a real layer or a sas of transparent layer, sometimes called him.

Do you this by clicking on the name of the background layer in Photoshop and then give a name or leave the name by default when the dialog box options layer appears.

Then erase the or remove the background of the image in PS

then save it as a .psd not flatten it.

Then place this .psd document in your document of AI and the transparent background will be honored by the AI.

  • When you add points on the path with the pen tool, it will always add handles almost anything?

I'm stumped... I have used several times before the tool pen without problem. I use Wacom Intuos... but have also disconnected and used touch pad and the same thing happens... I want to add a track with the tool point pen to move and create a perfect angle and no matter what I do the pen creates the point with handles and, of course, with handles, it becomes very difficult to create and move a corners with the direct Selection tool... It certainly could be Windows or some other internal force creating the problem... I have three versions of Photoshop installed on my Alienware... Photoshop 6, CC2014 and CC2015.5.1 and it happens in all versions of three... If I'm a fool for lack of something obvious please let me know... If it's something I'm missing or have forgotten that I'd appreciate any help I can get... Peace and thanks

The default behavior is. I just hold down the alt/opt and then convert the point at a point without handles.

  • can someone guide me how to place multiple images on a closed path using the pen tool draw in?

    Please

For many images, it is a little different.

You first need to group them.

    Then stick on the path.

  • Path with the pen color tool

Is there a way to improve (color change) the path generated with the pen tool. I don't want to say 'draw' the path after the path is complete. I mean the original plan of the path with the pen tool. I have a pretty full picture which I cannot see the path I'm generating the path.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think I see what you mean... There is a fine line and unlike in other applications, I'm fairly certain that I am not mistaken, you cannot specify a color for her.

I suggest only, and I don't know if this will help, but you could do your photo complicated layer is on temporarily less opaque so: lighter in effect. Not really more light and not a permanent change, you understand. I know not how you know PhotoShop so if you need me to explain exactly what to do, don't say, no probs. I'll tell you, it's easy.

I'm not sure this will help, but that's all I can think about thinking I'm afraid. I don't know if anyone has a better idea, they will be along soon to tell you about this :-)

Edit... ah... just beat him by Marlo with a better idea, lol.

  • How to continue the drawing with the pen tool

    Hello

Let's say that I start to draw an image with the pen tool. Something happens 1/2 through the work of track and I need to stop the trace. How I later come back and start the trace of my last point and continue to the end. Now, all I get is new anchor points and lines that do not join the original track. Thank you

To resume adding segments to a pre-existing open path with the pen tool:

    1. Hover over the endpoint of the path. A slash mark appears next to the cursor.
    2. Click on the endpoint.
    3. Continue to add the anchorPoints.

It is not necessary first to select the path (but it should be).

    JET.

  • The button mask dimmed when the pen tool selected?

    Hello...

I'll follow a tutorial on how to use the pen tool.

The tut shows that I should be able to click the button mask to create a trans BG. However, mine is grayed out. I can't find a reason why this would be. I am able to use the layer mask in other circumstances.

(The tut to take me a picture to draw around the image on practice of pulling/slide, twist, adding handles and so forth).

I have the pen tool on the way, but the mask becomes not available in one of the options.

The tut said to click on Ctrl + click on the path, and then click the button mask.

Any ideas why the mask is gray?

As always ~ I really appreciate your help.

Hope you are having a great day/night

You must convert the background layer to a regular layer by double clicking on the thumbnail of the layer in the layers panel.

Press OK in the dialog box that follows.

To convert the active path into a selection, press Ctrl + Enter (or right click in the path and choose to make selection), and then press the button layer mask on the bottom of the layers panel.

    Thank you.

CTRL + C, Ctrl + V to copy and paste, then Ctrl + T to transform, then enter '-100% ' in the areas either width or height.

  • How can I quickly turn in selection after using the pen tool?

Is there a quick key/s to make a selection with what I come with the pen tool?

I don't know if there is a keyboard shortcut, but I created an action to do and then assign one of the function keys to this action. I wanted a 1 feather px on my selection, that's why I've included that in the action as well.

  • Unable to set keyframes in the audio clip selected with the pen tool - can no longer see the volume control line after developing the clip. What could be the problem? This seems to be the problem on any project that I opened.

Cannot set keyframes in the audio clip selected with the pen tool - cannot see even the line volume control more to set keyframes on having developed the clip. What could be the problem?  I use the first CC pro @.

You can use the Ctrl key and then click with the regular selection tool, clicking with ctrl will make a new keyframe. in this way, have no need for the tools. CTRL has other great shortcuts that will stop you having to spend retouching pads tools too.

If the automation keyframe line is missing, you can switch on and off in the menu sequence.

  • The pen tool is whole Image by selecting

In my image I use the tool pen to select an area that I want to copy. When I delimit the area with anchor points, close it, and then select make selection, new selection, he puts the mobile dotted autour not just the area I chose, but also the whole image (see below).

    This suddenly started happening.

I don't want this behavior. Help, please.

    Thank you

    Make Selection.JPG

Check your settings of the pen tool. You probably accidentally checked subtract shape before. What you want is to exclude the shapes that overlap.

  • CS4 does not select the style of the previous line of the pen tool

When I used the pen tool in CS3 I could select any style of line (for most of the arrows) and be able to make the new line wih this style. In CS4 it creates just a black line each time with the same thickness.

In the appearance Panel, click the drop-down (top-right) and deselect new Art has basic appearance.

I can select with the pen tool and then use the side I refine my selection?

Yes you can but not directly. Right-click on the canvas after you create your drawn path and in the menu, select "make a selection. You can refine that as usual.
