  I'm writing a book and I saved every chapter in a separate file. I will now copy all of the pages in a single big file, basically. The problem is - and I would have thought about this before, I have used the same style names in each chapter, but made some settings for styles in the last chapters I want to apply to the previous chapters. If I combine these files in a new file, how can I make sure that the later styles are those that is used (IE, overwrite the previous styles with the same name). In other words, can I specify a 'master' style that overrides all "local" styles that are imported from a specific file (I'm not sure I used the master and local correctly, but I hope you know what I mean.)

  Also, just out of curiosity, if I wanted to keep these two styles that had the same name, is there a way to do it, too?

  And I have 4 layers in my palette, all of which are connected (I selected all 4 layers and click the chain LINK to link, and I see the link on all 4 layers).

  My question is, how to style all 4 of these layers once and it will display the same on all 4 layers? I thought that once I've linked layers, and then I went in styles and started a layer style, all of them would take on the uniform style on the entire line. Apparently, I do something wrong when I go to the style, he styles just a layer only, while the other 3 are simple.

  This would save time so I wouldn't have to make 4 each, but once for 4...

  If you group layers, you can apply a layer for the group style.

  In Illustrator CS5, select options > identical do not seem to include the selection of all objects with the same number of nodes under the currently selected object.

  A double click on the magic wand tool also does not provide such an option.

  I am fairly new to this, but I think it has to do with the way you have drop them downs named. Copy you a then keep stick in each area? If so, that's the problem. You must rename each with a different number: Dropdown1, Dropdown2, etc. I think this might solve the problem.

  A materialized view has 2 objects internally for her

  The key to understanding the difference between the Organization of your files and folders directly in your disk folders tree and by organizing with a catalogue, is that the catalogue:

  -contains no image files, that links to the actual location on the disk

  -stores the links in a database with organizers strict rules, which is to avoid duplicates.

  One of the highlights of the databases such as those in the elements or Lightroom is that they store duplicate data.   I have a few scripts that are used to perform various operations on the current selection in InDesign. Under normal circumstances these work very well, but I can't seem to reliable get the document/selection of foreground when there is another document opened with the same name. Most of the references to the document and any reference to the selection, I've tried so far will simply lead to this document which was recently opened (and has the same name).

  app.activeDocument.fullName always return the path to the most recently opened document of the same name, but app.documents [0] .fullName returns the correct path.
