• How to set recent items in system preferences and have it stay with my setting

  Noticed that to happen just in the last few weeks.

  Use Pages and try to use Open > recent and all I was getting was clear Menu.

  Went into System Preferences > general and recent items is set to None.  I changed it to what should be the default value of 10, but he keeps changing to None.

  Please, back up all data before proceeding.

  This procedure will unlock all your user (not system files) files and reset their ownership, permissions and default access controls.   Right-click on the shortcut, the program, or folder, then click on remove.  That's all.  If this does not work, try to use one of the following free products to remove the file/folder/shortcut: Unlocker to: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml or file Assassin http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php these programs often work when the functions of removing normal do not work correctly.

  If you want to remove the underlying program that applies an executable or shortcut icon, go to Control Panel / programs and features.  Find the program is no longer you want, right-click on it and select delete or uninstall or delete (all that appears) and that should also remove the program and probably/possibly the icon at the same time.  Be careful here if - because if you upgrade the program, remove the program related to the icon or folder, if he got somehow placed on the desktop instead of Program Files (unless completely separate program updated as shown in programs and features - so you see both an old and a new version) could cause problems with the new program.  In essence, don't forget when you delete what you really want to delete and it removes this and nothing else.  I recommend the creation of a system restore point before you do.

• Recent articles: is it possible to retrieve a list of recent items passed?

  Is it possible to retrieve a list of recent past items.  I am trying to determine if a file has been accessed and then removed from the list of recent items.  If possible, how do you do that?

  The list is stored in C:\Users\\Recent and there may be different lists for each user.  There is no real way to know if an item has been removed from the list, unless it is in the trash (which is unlikely).

  To check the Ffichier, go to Windows Explorer and navigate to the file that you are concerned about. Right-click on the headers, click more and add the access Date column.  Then you can see the last time someone accessed the file.  It's just as good as the list of recent files to find out when a person access to a file (and it cannot be deleted without deleting the file).

  I bought a laptop Lenovo X100e used with Windows 7 Professional. It was a great computer, but when I go on the internet, it behaves as if the connection is slow or wobbly, even if the connection is fast. I have an old Dell Latitude that works and it works great on the same network internet and I used my phone on my wifi at home and it works fine, so it's clearly the Lenovo.

  The network cards are 11 b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter II and Realtek GBE Family Controller christophepaille. I checked the drivers for the two (using Device Manager), and they are both currently. I used the function "diagnose problems" and found nothing. I googled for problems with them and have not found much.

  There is also a Qualcom Gobi 2000 listed (it's a WAN wireless driver for Windows 7) under other devices and he says "there is no driver selected for the item or a set of device information. I tried updating the driver, but got an error message saying "Cannot find Windows driver." software for your device I have no idea if this is relevant.
