separate the event

can someone give me a resolution how can I separate my events without using the struct event.

what I need in my program not only separate manifestations, but also I can not go to another event if the front test is not yet finished.

I guess that you keep your code inside the structure of the running event. Usually what you should do is using the structure of event only capture events and passes the event to a state machine running in parallel. You could search for event based model of machine design State for more idea. Also its best to show the code you did

  • Can't separate the pix date during and after import?

I recently switched to Photos v. 1.3 from iPhoto, running an iMac with OS X 10.11.3. When you import photos from a memory card into iPhoto, I was able to separate the photos by date, as I found myself with, say, 10 different sets of pictures, one for each day, from a memory card which covered ten days in total. I don't seem to have the same functionality in Photos - I checked the online help for the Photos and can't find any mention of it. I'll appreciate any helpful comments!

Look in moments - they are automatically put in order by date and place - Moments are the new events and totally based on information from photos - no relationship to import date - all the Photos is sorted by date added to the library (the date of importation)

  • How to merge the event structures?

I have a program of VI script that reads a text file of records and displays a structure of the event.  It works very well because it creates all the controls and indicators I need associated with the defined registry and code backend (i.e. the structure of the event).

After I generated all this code, I copy and paste in the main VI I develop.  Everything works very well.  The only problem is that there are 100 text files from separate registry.  This means that I end up with 100 separate event structures.  Although it works, it takes a lot of space and I prefer to combine them.  However, each event structure has anywhere from 15 to 75 entries, so to do this manually is not an option.

Is it possible to selectively merge the event automatically structures?

I guess I could write a labview scripting routine that could get a reference to the structure of the event in VI, then merge... but part of the problem there is that there are a handful of structures of event I want to separate them just because they are not associated with the set of registers, that I mentioned.

  • How to determine the order of execution of the structure of the event

    Hello world

I have a structure of the event were it contains four events. All the four events a separate buttons to run. Here, three events generates a digital output, remains an event (Finder) should find the order of these three events. For example, three events namely A, B and C. I run events in the order B, C and has. The event finder should find the order of the events previously performed (B, C and A).

    Thanks in advance.

  • The best way to separate the user interface in the model LV 2012 queued Message Handler?

If you create a new "queued Message Handler" new model 2012 LV, you will see a blue box in the case of "Update view" that says the following:

Code Recommended - If you wish to decouple the Message Handling Loop from your user interface, consider creating User Events (like the "Stop" event in this VI) to message the Event Handling Loop whenever the user interface needs updating.

I would like to give a suggestion, but I am struggling to find the best way to do this and still keep code modular.  The template creates a user - Stop.lvlib "event with a create/Destroy/fire Subvi.  I would like to create a library of "User event - Update UI.lvlib" similar with similar Create/Destroy/fire Subvi keep this new modular and separate user event.  The problem, I am struck, is that there may be only two hydrants in case Structure dynamic event so, how I modularlize creating user events in separate SubVIs and always maintain this dynamic event terminals?

As a follow-up on the issue, it would be preferable to have a library of user by indicator events that must be updated or that a single UI update of the user and then event pass a cluster as the message that contains the name of the control for the update (to use with a structure of matter), then the data to go with it?

    Thank you!

Instead of having the events to record in the 'create' methods, you could be part outside your 'create' SubVIs and then simply bundle them. Then, you create your individual event of the user management. See excerpt where I created a vi 'Create user event - Update' in front of the stop.

  • Simulate the structure of the event in the LabVIEW base?

I have a basic version of LabVIEW (v8.6) who doesn't have the structure of the event. I found it was quite embarrassing monitor the status of several controls (action after clicking a control depends on the State of the other control (s)). Especially if I want to add another function (control), the effort exponentially increase with the current number controls

I had an idea to simulate the structure of the event using "shift register. First, I will provide all the values for the controls in a cluster. Then I'll put the cluster in a while loop and compare the value of the cluster to its previous value (xor the registry change). If the result of the comparison is false (none of the control is changed), the program moves to the next iteration. If the XOR result is true (one of the control has changed), then the program goes into code (it will pass what control has changed and the entire cluster) event management. So for each change of control, we can write an independent code to process the event. After processing of the event, the event was allowed.

Here are some of my ugly code currently used to monitor multiple controls. And I think rewriting using above idea so there is less chance a hiden bug.

    Comments, suggestions?

I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for on your photo of your block diagram because it seems that only the lower quarter right in your code.  I would do the following to detect a change in a cluster without the structure of the event control:

The basic package include the notifications than us?  You can put your "event management" in another thread by this method:

The advantage here is your main loop of the program is not "bogged down" every time that a change in your cluster held.  It also allows to separate the code so that it is cleaner.

    Hope that helps!

  • the event structure cannot combine with other events and run only once

Why it will always get stuck when I combined the 'new user add' event to the event of 'Login '?

It works for me when I separate the two, but the 'Add a new user' button can work but only once for the structure above, program will be blocked on the second time that I press the button "add a new user".

It has already been said, you must use that a single structure of the event and not 2. Also, avoid using local variables (better store data in a shift register and not in an indicator) how you do it, it can cause bad racing conditions.

Actually here you just don't another data storage since you have a file. Don't store data file to the root of the C drive, you do not have write permission. Use the default data folder or the folder of the application.

I have attached a simple example. I guess that's a work at home? Please make my account help: try to understand why your VI does not work and try to find a solution by yourself. Modify my sample and play with him. This is how you learn LabVIEW. If something is not clear, post here, and we can explain/help.

Edit: has the 'connection' event, I don't check against whether the file exists or not. Difficulty of this part, gives too little practice.

  • Digital button & code that must run outside the switch of the event

I have an interesting situation.  I have a command button which I activated the control via the mouse wheel of the user (thanks to great examples of code herein for one!). To do this I like, I had to put the processing part of the code outside the set event button, such that the value of the output of the control would be updated immediately.

The only problem with this methodology which is then when the user closes the Panel and the button control is a final reminder, this block of code is executed one last time, which translates into a non fatal error "invalid control ID '.  The solution here is relevant, but is not ideal as shown above.

My solution feels like a hack, but tell me what you think - trap on EVENT_DISCARD and back at the beginning.  Seems to work, just feels like a patch.  Here is the code:

int CVICALLBACK KnobCallback(int panel, int control, int event, void *callbackData, int eventData1, int eventData2)
    {
        int prevValue = 0;

    }

I suggest to put the code SetCtrlVal fragment in a separate function and call this function for the correct event only; at present, it is called for any event, including the event throwing...

In addition, there is no need to recall the values min/max/inc of your control each time, once the start programme should be enough

  • Control the event with two controls

    Here's what I have.

I have two separate loops of time. Inside of each timed loop, I have a structure of the event. Each structure is the trigger by pressing a button each. It works very well.

However, I would like to add a third button that runs the two structures of the event. I want to do this without creating additional events in each structure. Is it possible to somehow this third button wire to the other two and to trigger both based on the action of the third? I have problems it works.

  • Structure of the event by tabs design pattern

    Hi all

Worked on a user interface using a model of design of event structure to respond to pressure on the button.

The interface got big enough and I decided to organize buttons into groups and put them on different tabs (to the Group feature).

However, when I put a case all about the structure of the event statement to separate the code on the pattern too I was not able to switch tabs and the interface gets stuck.

    Attached example.

I could put all the events button of different tabs in a structure of the event, but thought that this could get very large and unreadable. Is there a standard design model that responds to this problem?

    Thank you very much.

If you the tabs correspond to States so high kitted out to call a Subvi who is responcible for this State.

Then inside the Subvi handling state that I use recording dynamic event to implement the events I have to the service so that in this State.

This is what one of these sub - VI may look like.

  • Stop the execution of a loop in a structure of the event

I tried searching the forums to avoid posting a duplicate, but more I couldn't open most of the vi as they were higher.

I put in a dummy while loop in an event structire I intend to use. Once I have begin to execute the while loop, I am not able to stop using a control for some reason any the fornt panel control.

I am not able to change the vale of the shutdown command at all. I tried to create a separate event for the STOP, and I still couldn't stop the program when the While loop was running.

I guess I'm missing something really small. I would appreciate your comments on this.

    Thank you

Right-click on the structure of the event and choose 'edit events' in the case that gives you bad.

Make sure that the check box lock the front panel is not checked.

I suspect that yours is checked, so your front is locked until the end of the event, so you can never stop your loop.

  • Time after the event, without blocking the user

Hi, I am creating a software to control a power supply. One feature that I have bad to add is a timer.

I have a structure for the event that fires when the user clicks on the buttons, which most slowly increases the current for a period defined by the user. I want the timer to count so far defined by the user of time (in seconds) after the event fires. One thing, however, is that I need to be free to trigger another event (which stops the power supply in an emergency) so I can't have this synchronization process lock me up for snap buttons.

I was experimenting with the millisecond timer, as well as with a loop that goes through with a defined time interval, but it is not quite give me the functionality I want. (I've been placing these loops of timing outside the structure of the event to other events run yet, but I want the timer to only is triggered after an event is triggered, is it still possible?)

If you need more information, just ask, thanks!

Thnigs to do to dramatically improve your code:

You need not separate loop.  Put your code from timer inside the structure of the case of timeout event.  Set the time-out to 50 instead of 500 to match what is in your separate loop.  You can get rid of the becaue of queue, it is no longer necessary.  Create registry to offset on the main loop.  When the event occurs to start timer, pass the time for the shift on the right side register.  Wire the shift register on the left side in the event of timeout to use its value.  BTW, the shift in your separate loop register is used to nothing because you do not change the value on the wire.  Don't put all the loop in the case of timeout, get rid of the loop and just put the code of the loop, with the exception of the EndTime variable that can be removed and 50mS delay, which can be removed.

Put the Boolean value of early Inc. inside the case to start Inc. value change event.  Same for all Boolean values.  Put them in their cases of particular event.

Get rid of local variables now.  You'll race conditions if you do not, you doing wrong in that you don't need especially now.  Look at the current limit control.  Add a wire from the control of the current limit to where feeds the local variable of the current limit.  Delete the local section.

Move all the controls from the inside of the structure of the event outside the structure of the event, but still within the main loop.  Wire controls where they are going.  Now you can eliminate all local variables of thos and just wire from control where they are needed.

All outputs error.  One is enough.  Create an error in your front panel.  On the block-diagram wire the error in the first function of Sorrensen before the loop.  Where the error from the Sorrensen hit the loop function, change the terminal on a shift register (right click and select replace with shift register).  Move the error Out 2 to out of the loop on the right side.  Error 2 wire the register shift on the right side.  Everywhere, you need a mistake in, branch off the error in the thread because it is in the loop.  Wire all your outs of the error in the case of the event and the last Sorrensen function to a function of merge error.  Wire of this error on the shift register.  All your errors are combined in a single indicator.

    That should do for now.

  • Set priority higher for front panel events in a Structure of the event

    Hey people,

I need some advice on the management of events in Labview 2013... I have a structure of the event which handles events of façade (keys) as well as some user events. User events come thick and fast from an external dll. The data as well as this event gets queued at the start and then traced / processed.

The tricky part is if there are great number of events of the user, the response to the event of the façade is significantly delayed. I get about 80 events back to back user every two seconds. So, if I press a button on the Panel before every two seconds (2 seconds, 4 seconds, 6 seconds... etc) is obviously the delayed answer as opposed to pushing in multiples of 3 seconds (3 seconds then 6 seconds, 9 seconds...) where the reaction is immediate.

Now I know labview 2013 supports two prioritres while generating events (high & normal) but the problem is in my case, user events come from a dll using the 'PostLVUserEvent' method that does not accept a priority. And I don't see a way to set a priority for the events of façade (keys).

Any thoughts on how this can be managed?

Thanks in advance, best regards, Abel.

The best solution would be to separate user and events of the FP in two independent loops, but I understand that this may be difficult if the two event classes operate on the same data.

Another possibility is to use two loops serialized, encapsulated together in a larger loop, each containing a structure of the event: the first, with a short timeout, would manage the FP events and could go out on timeout. the second would deal with all user events and would be forced to stop after a predefined number of events managed or, better still, when a quantity preset time has elapsed.

  • generate the event user triggers two events structure

    Hello

I would like to generate a while a user event that triggers events in two or more loops loop event.

I have attached a non-fonctionnel project VI, so easier to show what I would understand.

My experience is that user generated event cause that a case of Structure of the event, not both. Why? What if I want the two loops of the event that will be raised? How can you make with the user event?

Maybe someone could explain this a bit deeper?

    Thank you very much!

So here's the VI in my dropbox:

    https://DL.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8148153/draft_to_show.VI

    Classic mistake.

You need TWO 'register for events', the output of each class to a separate structure of the event.  Then it won't work.

  • Control a Subvi VI main using the event Structure

    Hi all

I'm moving hand Vi VI Sub values...

However, my Subvi works with a structure of the event. (Change in value).

So when I run my main VI and I press the highlight (yellow bulb), the sub vi does not run...

I'm sure... I m missing something very basic.

My main and the Subvi operate with a structure of the event.

    Please see my attached files.

Each event structure listend to a button to calculate different: one on the respective fromt Panel. (Even if they have the same label, they are completely separate!)

Events are mainly for any user, they won't be triggered if a terminal is written by program. If the front panel of the Subvi is closed, you cannot press the top button.

Can you explain the purpose of your exercise? You seem to confuse you upward in some misunderstandings based on the flow of data and events.
