  I have a requirement where I have to add a serial port to a virtual computer that is an Ubuntu operating system and the port type must be 'output to the file"with a file name specified in a data store on the same ESX host.

  I advise you to upgrade to 4.1 PowerCLI.

  If this is not possible use the attached script that works for versions pre-version 4.1 PowerCLI.

• HP Compaq 6000 Pro AT492AV: Serial Port PCI Driver help - HP 6000 AT492AV Windows XP Pro

  Due to former software compatibility issues, I run Win XP on my computer HP Compaq 6000 Pro AT492AV.  I installed a new copy of XP OEM and have solved all driver except for 2 problems:

• Portege M200: serial port does not work with port replicator

  Hello
  I have a Tablet m200 and the top mentioned dock/replication PA3314-1PRP port.
  As the M200 has no serial port (rs232), I want to use the one on the docking station, but it is not recognized as a device on my tablet.

  Thew network connections and usb ports all work fine and the lpt port is shown in Device Manager. I have restored the Tablet and it still does not recognize the serial port.
  How can I get this port recognized so that I can use it.

  I just, I can confirm that when you use the Replicator port advanced III with Portege M200 several ports do not work. Problem is that Portege M200 does not support these interfaces.

  This is a technical limitation and the port of mouse PS/2 port keyboard PS/2, serial port, I.Link (Firewire) port and DVI port will not be supported when Portege M200 is anchored on the Advanced Port Replicator III. :(

• Need help with a 32-bit Thinapp had app to interact with Outlook 2010 x 64.

  It is a specific example, but this isn't the only application that I have a problem with any ideas are welcome.

  Here's the current scenario that drives me bananas.

  The Thinapp - Visio 2010 (32-bit, of course), packed under XP SP3 with Office 2003 is installed locally.

  Target OS - Win 7 x 64 with Office 2010 x 64 installed locally.

  Visio 2010 is running, you can virtually all do it... except, save and send-> Send as an attachment (or take the steps to e-mail).

  Basically, I tried it is difficult to explain the specific error, because they vary from "There is no default mail client installed" as many variations of "Reinstall outlook" absolutely nothing happening.

  The common theme is that the windows installer starts a repair for msmapi32.dll.  Insulation on the folder that contains msmapi32.dll (C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033) is set to writecopy.  I even tried including msmapi32.dll inside the thinapp Visio, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

  Send as attachments work fine on XP SP3/Office 2003.  So I was wondering if anyone had some advice to get 32-bit apps to play nicely with x 64 apps.

  I tried to turn on/off WOWon64 in package.ini, I've got the following in my buildoptions

  ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault = virtual

  ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions = Outlook.exe

  and VirtualiseOutofProcessCOM = 0

  All tips/tricks beyond the ordinary, much appreciated. For now, it's time for me to go home and have a beer.

  Cannot conclude something concrete now.

  It may be a good idea to install 32-bit office natively, and to observe the behavior. This way atleast we can reduce. Take your old installation that has worked for you in the other OS. Deploy it on 64 bit OS and see if it works.

  If there is a communication problem with the 64-bit native applications. We need to varify if that actually works of native office visio and 64-bit native 32-bit.

• Palm Centro Bluetooth Sync with Vista 64-bit

  I just got a Palm Centro and went throughout the configuration both the Palm Centro and the PC to see each other.  I created a (COM5) virtual COM port and chose this port as my connection series.

  That's when he stops working.  By pressing the button on the Centro HotSync gives me the following error...

  Cannot start the HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application.

  This port has been created, how can it be used?

  Well, I found a solution.  After pairing between the phone and the PC and affect the virtual port, you must restart the computer.  Once I rebooted, the port was available and hot sync phone would be.

  Thanks, it's resolved, it was due to a frame, now, I tried to write and read using labview, so that I could not manage to connect, for the resource of visa I wire only the port # COM1, will I have to do the series in order to get. Please advice

• Help with webworks plugin/extension.

  Hi guys, for a few weeks, I decided to love make an app for BB10. I did some research and found that this webworks was the way to go because of my prior knowledge of HTML and JS. I started to design the GUI and a few days back, I was. Then he came to the coding part, and I hit a wall, a huge wall.

  My application is a manager a little bluetooth and I need to give him the possibility to activate bluetooth in-app, but is not possible via webworks (to the best of my knowledge and apparently, my research has not sufficiently thorough). I did research more far and I found that it was possible, but only through the natives(core/cascades). I almost burst into tears because I speak of hours invested in webworks thrown through the windows. I did research more far and found that its possible for access to native code via webworks but will need a plugin/extension. Happy goes me to the site of BB and they have sort tutorial on the subject, but I spent the last 2 days on the site and is not quite explanatory.

  TL; DR... Someone at - it have a plugin/extension for webworks bluetooth or know where I can download one or know where I can find an indept tutorials on how I can make one for me? the model on github no use was more (no comments/explanation)

  I had searched the internet on installation of a virtual COM port, but I only find solutions based manufacturer. So I think that the driver or the software that generates the virtual COM port is based on the product that you (in your case, the gps system).

  The manufacuring company request a solution!

• Bluetooth Serial Port (SPP) on the XOOM profile

  Does anyone has experiences using devices to profile serial port with the XOOM?

  We try to get our through SPP Bluetooth barcode scanner and we had a few problems with the matching.

  We are able to pair our device with the XOOM did very well (using Bluetooth 2.1 Secure Simple pairing (SPP)), however, when we try to open a serial port (RFComm channel), the XOOM is trying to make an increased level of security and enforce Bluetooth man in the middle (MITM) protection.  The problem is that our device does not have ANY screen or buttons that would allow a user to enter the PIN code!

  Anyone tried the "non - ui" SPP BT 2.1 devices with the XOOM?  Such as barcode scanners or GPS units?

  We "got around" this by having our 'claim' device, the pin code has been entered correctly, but this is really just a hack.

  We have solved this problem by using a new call API 2.3 and higher to specifically ask for a link "unauthenticated."

• reading photoplethysmograph waveform with serial port on PC using Labview

  Hello world

  I'm gaining time real Photoplethysmography waveform of serial port using Labview.I have managed to acquire data from serial port by using the following features:

  -Baud rate: 38400

  -data bits: 8

  -stopbit: 1

   

  -No parity bit

  -Time delay before reading the serial port: 10 ms (according to what was written in the manual that every 10 ms there is a frame in serial port)

  After the reading string will be converted to byte array to be able to extract the bytes associated with waveform (1 & 2 bytes in a frame) even for SOP2 (6 & 7)

  (what is read in serial port is in decimal and must be converted to hexadecimal based on what made the software of prodeuct for some result.that in the waveform properties, I chose the hexadecimal representation)

  Then, as mentioned in the manual, I associate these two values to draw the waveform.

  Although I used the filter band digital waveform of pulse but not significant pass that was seen (cutofffrequeny:10 high low cut-off frequency: 0.5).

  I have attached my program and result in front of Panel and manual for the sensor. The result is still far from what is supposed to be. I was wondering if you could help me and let me know your opinion on the program and the protocol used. I have to get the result as soon as possible. Please let me know if you need more information.
