Server not maintaining sessions?

I use ColdFusion Builder to develop an application on my local machine. I installed the built in server provided with the developer edition of ColdFusion 9.

When I try to use the adobe software provided the code to set a session variable:

< cflock timeout = 20 scope = "Session" type = "Exclusive" >

< cfset Session.ShoppingCartItems = 0 >

< / cflock >

and then access it as follows:

< cflock timeout = 20 scope = "Session" type = "Exclusive" >

< cfoutput >

Your basket contains elements of #Session.ShoppingCartItems #.

< / cfoutput >

< / cflock >

I get an error that says that variable session does not exist. My application.cfc file has these two properties:

<!-should we use same sessions? ->

< cfset this.sessionManagement = true >

<!-how long the session vars persist? ->

< cfset this.sessionTimeout = createTimeSpan (0,0,20,0) >

Yes, I'm sure you must also this.setClientCookies = true for sessions keep actually.

  • Constant problem: first time, a link is clicked: server not found. Refresh page and the server is immediately.

    Foxfire regularly gives me the error message: server not found - BUT if I hit refresh, the server 'not found' opens immediately 99.9% of the time. It's really annoying. Happens several times per session, but not every time I click on a link.

    Maybe you have a problem with IPv6.

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Error_loading_websites

  • Variable not defined session immediately after CFSET session.var = "data".

    Hello, everyone.

    Got a real head scratcher (of least for me that is.)

    Just to experiment a little, it is not (yet) project, but something I would like to as reusable code for future projects.

    I try to write code that will clear session variables when the browser is closed, - THEN - separate session variables to the client by changing and expiring cookies cfid and cftoken.

    In my Application.cfc, I have the following:

    onSessionStart:
     <cfif NOT StructKeyExists(session,"app")><cfinvoke component="components" method="setDirs" returnvariable="session.app"></cfif>
     <cfset oRequest = getPageContext().getRequest()>
     <cfset session.cookies = oRequest.getHTTPRequest().getCookies()>
     <cfcookie name="cfid" value="#session.cfid#">
     <cfcookie name="cftoken" value="#session.cftoken#">

     onSessionEnd:
     <cfloop index="local.cookiename" list="cfid,cftoken,cfmagic"><cfcookie name="#local.cookiename#" value="" expires="now"></cfloop>

    On the page that appears, I have:

    <cfset session.cookies = getPageContext().getRequest().getHTTPRequest().getCookies()>
     <cfoutput>
     <cfloop index="idx" array="#session.cookies#">#idx.getName()# = #idx.getValue()# - Expires: #idx.getMaxAge()#</cfloop>
     </cfoutput>

    The above is where appears the error message "Cookies" not defined in the Session  Didn't I just put session.cookies, twice?

    Thank you

    ^_^

    You can't.

    To change a browser cookies, you must communicate with the browser.  This is done when the CF server sends the HTTP response for a request for this browser.

    onSessionEnd() - by its nature - only works when it is not communicating with the browser, and has not been any communication from the browser at least the period [session timeout].  So you can monkey with the scope of the cookie all you like in there, but the changes are never sent to the browser, because the browser has long since "left the building" as it was.

    HTTP is connectionless, and the browser is not communicating with the CF Server in any case (him speak only of browser on the web server), there is no way for the CF server know that the client has closed his browser.  Everything that takes place on the client machine, and CF is sitting on the server see  Even the web server does not know what is happening on the client user interface.

    What you can do is to put the cookies and session to have a very short time, so that expire them quickly once there is no activity to refresh.

  • Server not found

    EVERY Web site I click on give me this error on my Mac Book Pro page:

    Server not found

    Firefox can't find the server at www.weather.com.

       Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
       If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
       If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

    What is rong?

    You have security software that would block websites?

    Try disabling IPv6 (also check other possible causes).

  • Work around for server not found problems on FF36

    I found a work around for all people with server not found problems with FF36.

    If you manually set your DNS network adapter to an external DNS server (as opposed to your local ISP) then the problem disappears. I set mine to use the google DNS servers:

     Preferred: 8.8.8.8
     Alternate: 8.8.4.4

    No idea why this works, but it is 100% success on my desktop PC, whereas before I could not connect to a Web page with FF36 without updating the multiple page and a lot of frustration, although FF35 was fine and back to FF35 turnover was as beautiful.

    Something has changed in FF36 and how it manages the DNS or the mode of operation with certain network cards.

    There is nothing to do with the Add - ons, profiles or software firewall as I tried all these things and that the DNS change makes a difference. I even copied on a full profile and directory of program files to work for Mozilla on my laptop which saw no problem and the problem still exists on the desktop, which is why I started watching the network adapater since everything between the working PC and no work was identical.

    I hope that this will help the developers to identify the real cause of the problem and fix it in the next version.

    AG - your problem looks different you had FF36 work.

    Considering that the problem of many of us that when we spend FF35 in FF36 we get a lot of server is found errors when you try to load Web pages.

    Sometimes they load and then they stop loading and then if you click Refresh a lot that they sometimes then charge again, or you have to wait a minute or two and then they load.

    For some reason any using an external DNS server {see # 698286 answer ~ J99} has stopped this problem completely, as does return to FF35.

    We need an expert on to Mozilla DNS resolution to focus on this. [*] See my note under ~ J99 Seems to me that you use an external DNS server adds some latency to name resolution and maybe this is necessary for the network card in the PC that encounter this issue to resolve the addresses of Web page.

    Obviously something changed in FF36 FF35 to cause this problem. I'm open to Mozilla contact me by E-mail if they want me to try something else to help pin it down.

    *

    change Note the John99
    Mozilla can consider WHETHER we are able to provide evidence to support this. We must be able to complete a report of bug with right steps to reproduce (STR). Developers should be able to see themselves the problem before we can expect to focus on this.

  • Why does Firefox Mac returns 'Server not found' for a website but Safari on Mac same load site without any problems?

    The financial company Web site www.gmo.com will not appear in Firefox 32.0.02. Server not found is the only result. Safari loads Web site without any problem and Firefox for Windows computer in the House support the site without problem. All the other sites I have access, including banks, Amazon, etc. loads normally.

    What/why the Mac of Firefox version would not be able to to connect/load this site?

    The company of people told me that no one else has reported this problem and other people in my company can access the site. And they cannot reproduce the problem.

    My ISP provider could not see anything from their point of view. And access all computers to the modem/router in the House everything without any problems.

    Anyone have any ideas on what would cause this or how to go about troubleshooting?

    Thank you for your time.

    Looks like it's something on the computer. There are cookies that must be removed individually from the Firefox profile.

    To do this, go to the Firefox Menu, tap Preferences, then tap privacy and then delete cookies or cookies see the. You can search the sites that gives you problems and remove them. Restart Firefox.

    It could also be that you add a DNS server for your connection. 8.8.8.8 is google, but I don't know if this would affect given that the server is not found, not that there is no link, that's why it does not sound like a connection problem, but a cache problem. Use the Profile Manager to create and delete profiles Firefox

  • Can I go back to the old look error messages 'server not found '?

    After the Firefox 32 update, I noticed that the "server not found" error messages look differently now. I don't like the new look, so I wonder if you know an add-on that restores the old look. I tried to search for him, but I don't know the name of these error messages, so I don't know what search phrase I should use.

    Thank you very much for your answer. The solution in the thread link you to seems to be a bit too complicated for me, so I guess I'll have to live with the new error messages (unless the add-on you link is updated to work with latest versions of Firefox, but that seems unlikely). Thank you anyway for your help, however.
