  • Cannot start web server on the executable file

    Hello

    We have a problem with a Web server - we cannot get to initialize the help of nodes of property or the ini on a compiled executable file.

    As part of our application, we are starting the Web server to publish a status page to be read remotely. This works very well when we are running in the development environment and also when we run an executable a PC with installed development environment, however it will not boot on a PC with just the runtime installed.

    I have attached some of the code that functionally does exactly the same thing in our main application. I used this as my Tester code and built in an exe while trying a lot of different things to fix.

    When executing:

    • The code will sit in the while loop until I press stop.
    • Web server: Active Server = FALSE
    • Out error = ERROR No.

    In the full application the while loop waits a few seconds before throw an error if the server is not started. In this example, I can let the loop running for awhile without leave. Normally, the boot time is<50ms when="">

    It's the ini file to the executable file:

    [WebTest]
    server.app.propertiesEnabled = True
    Server.OLE.Enabled = True
    server.tcp.serviceName = "My Server computer/VI"
    server.vi.propertiesEnabled = True
    WebServer.Enabled = True
    WebServer.TcpAccess = "' + * '"
    WebServer.ViAccess = "' + * '"
    DebugServerEnabled = False
    DebugServerWaitOnLaunch = False

    And it is the Web server configuration file:

    ErrorLog "$LVSERVER_ROOT/logs/error.log".
    LogLevel 3
    The default server name
    DocumentRoot "$LVSERVER_ROOT /... /.. '. "/ www".
    Listen 8000
    ThreadLimit 10
    TypesConfig "$LVSERVER_ROOT/mime.types»
    DirectoryIndex index.html
    LoadModulePath "$LVSERVER_ROOT/modules '" $LVSERVER_ROOT/LVModules "" $LVSERVER_ROOT /... ".
    LoadModule LVAuth lvauthmodule
    LoadModule LVSnapshot lvsnapshotmodule
    LoadModule LVRFP lvrfpmodule
    LoadModule dir libdirModule
    LoadModule copy libcopyModule

    AddHandler LVAuthHandler
    AddHandler LVSnapshotHandler .snap
    AddHandler LVRFPHandler

    AddHandler dirHandler
    AddHandler copyHandler

    "CustomLog"$LVSERVER_ROOT/logs/access.log"'%%u %t \"%r\ hour' % > s %b.
    KeepAlive on
    KeepAliveTimeout 60
    Timeout 60

    As can side note, anyone tell me where the $LVSERVER_ROOT variable is configured?

    I tried the things:

    • Copy a new default configuration file before the entry into force
    • Writing a predefined file (encoded) before initializing config
    • Definition to root before initializing directory (it actually generates an error because the server is not active...)
    • Set WebServer.Active = TRUE several times inside the while loop
    • Toggle the web server in the ini file

    System:

    • LabVIEW 2010
    • PC with Windows 7 running

    Thanks for any help, because it makes me crazy slow!

    Ben

    Hi Marco, thanks for the reply.

    I have this guide was reviewed previously and had done all that he but a small section who gave me a hint of something to try and I have solved my problem, so thank you!

    If anyone is interested, here's the problem:

    The directive DocumentRoot folder in the config must exist or the Web server cannot be started. So basically, make sure that the file points to a folder that exists!

    This leaves two small annoying problems if - you can't see if the file exists (and then create it) before starting the Web server, because you can not query the path to the folder without the Web server running.

    AND

    You can't really define the configuration programmatically file as parameters from the file are responsible for execution, not on the start Web server.

    The result of this is that the config file and the folder root document should be created (and corresponding of course...) when the executable is built / installed on the system. Not a massive headache, but it means do not forget to put things in the build specification and do not rely on software to do the job at startup

  • LabVIEW DSC Client\Server application. How to install the executable on the client.

    Hi all

    I'm currently programming an Client\Server application.  The server application must host shared variables, and the client application must read.  The client application reads the shared variable in the indicator of their connection with the properties of the indicator.  I started programming and the client application and the server are in the same project.  In the client application I am lie the indicator to the library in my project that has the "My Computer" as the address.  My question is how do I tell the executable installed on any computer, that I wanted to use the variables shared on the server?  I have LabVIEW 2009 DSC.

    Thank you

    If by "data binding", you hear the Variables defined on your computer, then Yes, unless you want not linked to new variables on each executable, in this case here is an example that can help.

  • With the help of the child in the executable class

    I'm kinda stuck and don't know how to solve and could not find a solution online.

    I have a parent class and its children to the class. The child class only overrides a method, but not the run method. I want to compile the executable project, where the run method is called, but the class type is the child, not parent. How to do this?

    I tried three things, but all in vain:

    (1) in the build properties when I select start VI the run method of the parent, I get in the executable the parent, not the child's class class. It's logical. However, I couldn't find the option to use the child as a type's class.

    (2) when I add the run method of the child class and appeal to parents, I get two windows pop up. The run of the parent and the child method. Too many. Even if for the class child run method (see below the block diagram of a child, red run method's parent), I put not to show the façade when it is called in the properties of VI.

    (3) when I tried with a separate VI calling the run method of the parent class, but the class type is the child, I get the façade of this separate VI and the run method of the parent. See below (Blue class is child, red of parent).

    In both cases 2 and 3, I chose to put the checkbox 'See the façade when it is called' a FAKE, but still the front panels appear.

    Someone don't know either: i) the use in the executable version of the options to generate an executable when a different class method is used, or ii) when you compile an executable file with a certain start VI, to not show this starting VI?

    I understand if I say "you want to configure the RUN method of the class as 'start-up VI' in the EXE file, but it should run the RUN method for a child object"?

    If this is correct, your third approach is the right one. This new boot VI is often used as 'Splash Screen' that covers the task of a demon "spawning" for your application.

    You must simply close this VI once it's over. This can be done using VI server on its own front panel functions.

    hope this helps,

  • error 1004 during the VI of the executable call

    I'm implementing the tutorial "create a windows NT service using LabVIEW", but I had no success. When I start my VI client I get the error 1004: the VI is not in memory. I always work with the normal executable, not the service again. Later, I will cross this bridge.  I made sure the data that generator VI has been included in the executable file (see attached files - no cookie generator VI, just a random number generator), and I have configured the server of VI in Project Explorer.  If I run the service VI in LabVIEW (not executable) and change the customer VI to search in memory rather than communicate through ports, then everything works perfectly, so I think that the problem is related with a certain configuration of the executable file.  Any help will be appreciated.

    There are several points here:

    (1) change the Boolean constant in svcSrvr.vi to a control, otherwise the VI does not appear in the exe file (even if it is specified in the build specification) [this looks like a bug to me]

    (2) in the application, use a different port (if not the project is still listening on this port as well as the application cannot listen on the same port), that is to change the port number in the application.ini. Solution: close the project before you run the exe.

    (3) wire "localhost" (or the name of the computer) the reference of the application open machine name entry.

    Hope this helps,

    Daniel

  • 2010 user.lib path to the executable file changed since 2009 (1abvi3w)

    Our group has often using VI server to control the other executables LabVIEW for automated tests. We expect the VI to be within the executable to control via Server executable VI screws and screws we need to construct the full path.

    For LabVIEW 2009 user.lib screw the path used to appear as:

    . exe\LabVIEW 2009\user.lib\...

    For LabVIEW 2010 user.lib screw (on Win XP AND Win 7) the path appears now as:

    . exe\1abvi3w\user.lib\...

    It's just information for developers. He really threw a key in our calls to the VI server and are uncertain as to why he's changed and why his "1abvi3w". Who's the funny guy?

    Seriously, why this change and why to use a '1' and '3 '. Is this an attempt of 1337 speak?

    Paths in applications applications are based on the hierarchy of the source of VI. For files in the directory of LabVIEW, the LabVIEW directory real name was used in 2009. It was ok except when creating relies on platforms or on multiple computers where LabVIEW has been installed to a different location. So for 2010, a single, constant directory name has been chosen.

  • Using VI Server to check whether another executable LabVIEW is running

    Hello to you all, helpful people.

    I need to have a single executable check LabVIEW if an different LabVIEW executable is running.  The simplest way to do seems to be to ask Windows if the name of the executable runs.  A good thread is here.

    However, this requires the use of a tool (task list) that does not exist on all Windows operating systems I need support (all flavors of XP, Vista and 7).  In addition, even if I found an equivalent for each OS, I need to make sure that they continue to work and update my program whenever a new OS was released.

    A much better solution would seem to be to use Server VI in LabVIEW, so it is cross-platform.  However, despite reading over my printed manuals, by reading lots of subjects in the electronic manual, scanning through the forums and make some limited looking for a manual on the Web site of NOR, I still can't understand the basics of the implementation of a communication server VI between two executables.  It's very frustrating, because I'm sure it's a simple task, but I can't find the right instructions.

    A lot of instructions to configure a server VI say to go to tools-> Options-> VI Server: Configuration and enable the TCP/IP option.  Which seems exaggerated, if I only need communication on a local computer, but ok.  However, in other places told me that this sets the default settings for the instance of the main application (another subject I am still unclear on), so how does it apply to my existing LabVIEW project?  My current project is an executable, and I thought I would create a new build for the second executable specification.  Executable has all my existing code, while B executable would have just a reference VI available server ping, in order for an executable say if it is running.

    So I built executable B, and I joined his VI for your reference.  Deciding that the VI settings programmatically server configuration will be more comprehensible, I put options that seemed logical: a unique TCP Port number listen to Active = True, TCP/IP access list = IP Address of my computer and the executable = B.vi VI access list.

    In my test executable A.i, which I use to this get up and running before changing my main code, I use Open Application references with the IP of my computer, the unique port number and a short timeout.  I hooked up to a property App node to determine if I get the correct connection.  All I really need is to check the name of the Application and I'm good.  However, I keep getting 'LabVIEW.exe.

    If anyone call tell me that I forget in this simple configuration, I would be very grateful.  Some basics on something else I'm missing about how works the server VI, how the tools-> Options from the settings relate to all, etc., would be a big bonus.  Eventually I'll need a way to specify no IP address of the computer (or a way to interrogate LabVIEW), so I can broadcast these two executables on any random PC.

    Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Reference VI only open in the executable version error

    Hello people! I'm having a strange problem because I've updated to Labview 2014: I a vi that uses "Open VI reference" to open the desired vi programmatically. It has worked flawlessly in the compiled version (.exe) of the program until yesterday, when I compiled again for the first time since my update by 2014 Labview. It compiles without problems, but when I start the exe and load the first vi it already gives me an error "Application built or Shared Library (DLL): Missing.

    The fact is that all the screws that I want to open are inside a LAW degree which is supposed to be compiled within the .exe: infact is the path I use to open:

    D:\LabVIEW Data\builds\Sequenzer\Sequenzer2.0.exe\com_lv_sequenzer\trunk\Sequenzer_Functions.llb\Seq_Connect_to_Database.vi

    And I get error number 7:

    Reference VI opened in Seq_Function_Interface.vi-> Sequenzer_Main_2.0.vi
    Path of the VI: D:\LabVIEW Data\builds\Sequenzer\Sequenzer2.0.exe\com_lv_sequenzer\trunk\Sequenzer_Functions.llb\Seq_Connect_to_Database.vi
    Built Application or shared library (DLL): ensure that all loaded screws dynamically were correctly included in the specification for the application or a shared library build.
    LabVIEW Real-time: screw built into executables are not accessible via VI Server calls. Use the Source Distributions dynamically call screws on real-time targets.

    Vi Seq_Connect_to_Database.vi is included in my built (as you can see in the attached screenshot and it has always been).

    Do you have any idea why it doesn't work anymore?

    Thank you very much in advance!

  • User account locked access to the executable file on a mapped drive to a pc

    I have a windows 7 64 bit pc.

    I mapped drives that I have used for years.

    Now, 1 mapped drive on this pc, my account is locked when I try to run an executable file. I can connect to other PCs and it is not a problem. I don't have any credentials stored on my pc. I rebooted, removed from the computer from the domain and readded. I checked the server when the actions are (logged in as myself) and can run executable files. It is a problem on this pc for this drive. Even if I use the full path in windows Explorer, my account locked with incorrect password.

    Any ideas on where to find the next?

    The executable is probably attempting to access a shared resource using the incorrect credentials. You would examine its inner workings in detail, for example by checking his profile files and registry keys, in order to know what it is.

  • Run the executable from the folder that is being synchronized

    We run a view environment 5.0, Windows 7 and Persona.  The folder on the desktop is one of the folders that is redirected.  If a user copy an executable file on the desktop, the permissions of the server where the folder is redirected resident take previous.  He cannot run the executable file on his desk and gets an error Windows cannot access it.

    Thank you

    When you say that the the desktop folder is redirected, which is part of the Folder Redirection GPO folder, or is it just part of the character which is managed by the Directorate of Persona? If it is redirected to a network location using the Folder Redirection settings, then the permissions associated with this network location would come into play. If you examine the properties of the executable file, is there an option to unlock the file to the bottom of the dialog box? Who could be there if you try to run an executable file from a network location.

    If it's just being roamed by using the Persona management, perhaps you must set the desktop folder to preload? It is possible that the icon is on the desktop, but the file itself has not finished downloading yet.
