service on the laptop cover

I read the service manual for my HP Pavilion laptop dv4 and seen the video to remove the service cover. However, the underside of my laptop does not resemble these pictures and diagrams. The instructions tell you to slide the release lever "partially ejected" the coverage of service - but on my laptop, sliding the lever has no effect on anything... except to clear the battery of course.

I guess my service coverage is the small rectangular panel that covers the optical drive Bay? I don't see any way to remove this piece of plastic.  Am I supposed to completely ignore the maintenance manual and start taking screws twelve?

I'm trying to be gentle to avoid the break anything.

I managed to go down the plastic ferrules. The trick is to use my nails. Not on this one. My nails are bad. Now, I will proceed to the next step which is almost surely to unscrew a few screws to open the keyboard. But where are the screws? I read all the manuals of Pavilion model. The three screws indicated in the manual dv4 do not exist on this laptop.

I close this thread because I down plastic tips.

  • Can't separate the top cover to the base/motherboard to replace the RTC battery on laptop ZD8080US

I am trying to replace the RTC on a Pavillion ZD8080US battery.  I proceeded with disassembly in step 11, page 5-33 Maintenanceand Service of Guide.  I am now unable to separate the top cover from the rest of the laptop.

I can get the left side of the image of the base but even with what appears to be excessive force that I can't get the right separate about 1/4 "without making me concerned that I'll break the cover.   (The right side of the cover is folded about 10 degrees when I'm trying to force it).  I tried some jiggling and a few twists to see if that would open invisible conflicts but with no luck.  I used the tree of a screwdriver between the parties to try to increase the force.  All to nothing does not.

Coverage seems to be stuck/attached to a 4 "- 5" to the top on the right side.  It acts like a screw that has not been removed.  I don't see anything when I peer into the hole when the two parties are discarded.  Is there any adhesive which can be between the parties on the right side?

I examined the process of dismantling four times.  I counted the screws that came out.  I revamped to all the screw holes in the drawings and made sure there is no screws in the holes.

Am I missing something?  Is there a step or a comment has been omitted in the text?  Is there a screw hidden under the model or label of Windows?  Is there one thing that others have found to accomplish this separation?

I appreciate any help I can get.

    Hi DesertFox899,

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

According to the question that you provided if the laptop is under pressure in the bag and as it is a model to screen touch there could be opportunities for brands of keyboard, I suggest you to use a keyboard protection to avoid further damage.

I just formatted my laptop and every time I try to intall service pack 1 for windows vista as it gets installed but when I turn the LAPTOP works again it ask me to update? What should I do

    Hello

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you here what Service Packs, if any, are already installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.

    Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30

    Vista SP1 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21299

    Vista SP2 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16468

    Vista SP2 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17669

And if you have any problems:

There is a Forum that Microsoft has put in place for problems with Vista Service Packs. If repost you the Forum they will definitely try to help you here...

  • Cover of the laptop... The width?

    Hello

I know this may seem a silly question to some people

But it is a question which has been so annoying for 4 months now.

I was wondering if someone could tell me please... How broad are we supposed to open our mobile eyelids?

I always use my laptop in the same place - Kitchen Table

I'm rather small, and the kitchen table is a bit high for me.

If I had to use my laptop with the lid open to an ideal of 90 degrees ... I see that everything is perfect!

    for example

    Colors would look correct

No problem with the reflection of light

    However!

Whenever I see portable computers used by friends, relatives or on TV... The lid of the laptop is always open much wider

    e.g. 110 degrees

    For this reason...

I had trouble using my laptop when the lid is opened a little wider than 90 degrees.

    Probably more at 100 degrees

I really want to use my laptop with the cover to 90 degrees

    But before you do...

Can someone tell me please... What is the correct angle \-- for a laptop to be open lid to?

    Thanks in advance!

Laptop... HP Pavilion... DV7-1055ea (Vista Home Premium)

There is no angle correct / specified to open the lid of the compartment... it's just what works for you.  The best angles of vision are usually between 90 ° and 120 °

Just so ignore everyone and how you want to use it!

Depends entirely on this laptop you have. If it has a 64-bit processor
You can use 64-bit Windows. If a 32-bit CPU, you can't.

If you don't know you have, hold down the Windows key and press
Break | Break. It will tell you if you have a 32-bit
    processor or 64-bit processor.

I have checked forums for the resolution, but do not have access to the button start because there is no other users have the laptop so can't start suggested solutions.  Am running Windows Vista and I wonder if this problem could be connected to the fact that I had to restore my laptop to factory settings the week last for another problem.  I have a complete upward (to make this last week before the restore to factory settings), so if I can get around the screen just to uninstall Windows connection, maybe I can re - install and the problem will be solved?

  • Re: Satellite R630-155 - part number for the LCD cover

My 3 year old belle has hit my R630 on the floor and the plastic LCD casing/lid is now broken. Hinges are fine, the screen is fine - I just need to replace the plastic cover. How find the part number or get a new one?

    Thank you.

    Hey,.

Here you can get t numbers because it s a forum for owners of Toshiba laptop only. If you can speak with normal people like you and me here.

If you need these technical details such as part numbers, you will need to contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys have access to databases of Toshiba and can give you the exact reference and order this part too.

    Good luck! :)

  • How to remove the rear cover to the hard drive.

    I own a laptop, a HP Pavilion dv6, System ID 3583, product ID LY076UA.

When you turn on the laptop hard disk cover has no screws, it seems to be stuck in the chassis. What to do, take a knife and try to lift up?

All the diagrams that I find slightly different models shows screwed on covers HD online.

I also need to replace the fan, I would not mind a maintenance manual appropriate.

    Hello

This is the HP Pavilion dv6 Maintenance & Service Guide. There's a latch of service you must release to access with the optical and hard drive. This is why there is no screws.

    Best regards

  • dv5-2070us screws for hdd insecure on the laptop

I watched the service manual for this laptop and images on hard drive showed the screws to secure the hard drive on the laptop, but hard drive of my notesbook does not have slot machines, a carter or holes to put the screws on. The hard drive is just lying with cable connection on the motherboard.  Without screws to fix the hard disk, it will be sensitive to vibrations or 'clash '. Could be a factor for the hard disk to fail?

  • ENVY dv6 problem on the botton cover screws

I recently purchased a dv6 HP ENVY to the United States, however, I moved to the Brazil and I can't use the support of security on my laptop. In the botton cover, there is a screw which does not where it is supposed to. I wonder if it is possible to replace this screw.

    Here are some pictures:

    So, what can I do?

    Hello

I have the same series but the screw is somehow attached to the lid and there is also a small source. Repair shows the coverage of service without any screws so can't tell you what exactly it is. I suggest to buy a few screws on ebay like this:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/320-laptop-screws-set-IBM-HP-Toshiba-Sony-Dell-gateway-Lenovo-Samsung-ThinkPad-/110912953774?PT=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d2ed5dae

The screw is certainly a phillips 2.5 and length is 11 or 12 mm. 2.5x12 is defined in the screw.
