  My Oracle 11 g R2 server works on Win 8 in shared server mode. I put SHARED_SERVER = 3 and SHARED_SERVER_SESSIONS = 10 in the initialization parameter file. I don't know how these two works settings. Is anyway to set up the process server dedicated server shared for DBA session? In short, I want that on a shared server, all end users / Developer sessions use or shared server processes where the shared server process will be shared between them according to setting SHARED_SERVER_SESSIONS and also that you want to create dedicated server processes share server for session of DBA only because I want only uses session SYSDBA privileged dedicated process server rather shared server process.

  Configuration of the database for shared server connections ALLOWS sharing of connections to the server, but does not REQUIRE it.

  It is the client process to apply the type of connection.

  Connection with a dedicated server is the default value.  If you want a shared server you have to specifically ask for it:

  We noticed some undesirable in MSTSC behavior when a network connection drops during a session-MSTSC to a server. What happens is that when the user is disconnect from the remote session due to network connection dropping, the entire system freezes for a few seconds, making the communication on other physical cards within this same remote device which are not affected by a network connection cannot fall.

  In order to reproduce that we run several tests on the following versions of windows using various equipment:

  • Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition
  • Windows 2008 Server R2
  • Windows XP

  Tests were performed on both physical and VMWare virtual servers. All systems are equipped with at least two physical ethernet adapters on different IP networks.

  During the test, we put a MSTSC connection to windows server during the first card (A) on this server. On the other (B) ethernet card we have implemented an application to communicate to a client on another machine, sending simple messages every second and receiving responses.

  When we pulled the ethernet adapter cable has and in doing so, disconnected the MSTSC, the communication on the ethernet B card connection would fail aswell for a few seconds.

  Is this a known issue? And in such a solution?

• Development Server can be upgraded to Interactive Server?

  I want to start with Flash Media Development Server 5.0 and later to purchase a license for Flash Media Interactive Server 5. The 'upgrade' can occur by simply applying install a license key for the development server or do I "start over" with the Interactive full version?

• Totally watered development server - steps of the need to rebuild

  I followed the documentation to try to rebuild our development server. In the past several restorations of production were completed successfully and configuration is a mess.
  
  So I tried to follow Appendix D of the Guide to planning Admin, I have restored production to development (database HSS) Shared Services and tried the import/export utility. Groups and native users come but commissioning is just a plain old mess.
  
  In the projects there are old essbase configurations and I try right click Delete, but the deletion fails. I tried through the configuration utility to unregister and it failed too.
  
  Try to return to a base, so I can then restore with production data. Looking for a good avenue try.

• Is there a way to allow users to disconnect their sessions on a remote server to the RDP from their local machine?

  QWINSTA and other command line utilities are a bit too complicated for the end users, we of course do not disconnect the session hurt accidentally. In general, we only questions with sessions stuck to a few users who would be perfect if utilities command-line integrated for rdp sessions would allow to change username, but since they require a dynamic session id # I don't know how this could be scripted. Is there a tool available for Windows 7 clients on a Server 2008 RDP allowing them to disconnect from their own session if they are blocked? We have enrolled in different time zones who have to connect remotely in order to do their job and sometimes it is too early here for someone to be there to help.

  I found a http://www.ctrl-alt-del.com.au/ , but it says it is only for Server 2003 and I tried and got an error flashed too quickly to be read.

  I started locator both gemfire server and when I run tcServer, tcServer throws an error that "'gemfire_modules_sessions ' region cannot be found. "

  I believed that tcServer will connect to standalone GemFire locator and search for the session to the server area. I understand OK if not, can someone explain how gemfire-cs module, code examples if we can post will also be useful for everyone.

  Glad you got things sorted. Here are some answers to your questions:

  1 were the same for the ClientCacheFactoryBean and the pool defined in client - cache.xml the names of your pool?

  2 - if all your host names are resolvable on all systems in your cluster so you should not use IP addresses.

  4 - this property snuck in the config that I sent you. It is no longer valid to go to 7.0.0.2. Previously, we have defined a valve optional commit in context.xml. This valve valid changes of the session at the end of the request/response http instead immediately when each session attribute is changed. It is allowed to improve performance. Since version 7.0.0.2 definition of the valve is removed from context.xml is configured programmatically and is enabled using this property.

• ATG sticky session with Apache web server

  Hi all. I use webservices module ATG remains on my local system. I send applications via the web browser that goes through Apache and typing the ATG application server. The problem is that, while on our test environments, several subsequent applications maintain the same session on my local system, each application comes with a new session id. This causes problems to test things locally that need to have a sticky session. I use poster (firefox plugin) and after the first request, I capture the cookie (esessionId in the response) and add this header cookie in subsequent applications, but the answers still have a different esessionId cookie value.
  
  Can someone explain how the session (with the help of cookies) tracking work between Apache and ATG? I know that there is a way to allow Apache to know what cookie to take to activate the sticky session but I do not know how to configure it.

  If you add the url session ID and always get different sessions, it means in your application server accepts session cookies from.
  SessionId in url is limited.

  When you configure apache with the plugin application server, he built in sticky session feature enabled.
  I guess the question could be the cookie in the request is not sessionid or each request is get presented as new request by the plug-in.

  Got a real head scratcher (of least for me that is.)

  Just to experiment a little, it is not (yet) project, but something I would like to as reusable code for future projects.

  I try to write code that will clear session variables when the browser is closed, - THEN - separate session variables to the client by changing and expiring cookies cfid and cftoken.

  In my Application.cfc, I have the following:

  You can't.

  To change a browser cookies, you must communicate with the browser.  This is done when the CF server sends the HTTP response for a request for this browser.

  onSessionEnd() - by its nature - only works when it is not communicating with the browser, and has not been any communication from the browser at least the period [session timeout].  So you can monkey with the scope of the cookie all you like in there, but the changes are never sent to the browser, because the browser has long since "left the building" as it was.

  HTTP is connectionless, and the browser is not communicating with the CF Server in any case (him speak only of browser on the web server), there is no way for the CF server know that the client has closed his browser.  Everything that takes place on the client machine, and CF is sitting on the server see  Even the web server does not know what is happening on the client user interface.

  What you can do is to put the cookies and session to have a very short time, so that expire them quickly once there is no activity to refresh.

• Best method for multi-developer Server Variables / multi-server environment?

  In addition to having a development environment on my laptop and my desktop computer, we have a staging server and a production server. In addition, we have one or more developers and contributors who may have one or more development that is clean environments.

  Each of these environments may have their own copy of ColdFusion (developer, standard, enterprise - everything is required) and their own copy of SQL Server Express / whatever, their own data source name, the name of user of data, password data, names of CF mappings and so on.  So, while SQL tables and the structure of the code directories is all the same, there are many different things from one to the other.

  Certainly, we need to have a large number of variables so that when someone downloads via SVN commit they don't live, everybody to the top, because they push their own local names in place.

  How do you manage that?  XML file?  CFC? some form of. INI file?   Looking for a solid way to handle this for a multitude of environments and developers, I welcome so see YOUR solution.

  I have server development Coldfusion and Apache running on my local host. CF is on port 8500, and Apache runs on port 80.

  My remote host in plesk, I may add support for Coldfusion and PHP, is it possible to run PHP files on localhost:8500?

  Sweet. I run this Setup on Mac 10.5.7 and it's awesome (PHP & CFML on port 80, that is).

  The simplest solution is to reinstall CF as a multi-server and run the Apache connectors. Setup of Mac CF (8.0.1) most recent is "built" for Leopard, so it works well.

  I had trouble settting/get cookies on my pc for development in the CF and was trying to get arouind using JS.

  The problem turned out to be be ZoneAlarm blocks cookies by CF. I couldn't even set Client variables because they are dependent on cookie! It took me forever to figure this. Sigh. A waste of time this as frustrating.
