Set a plan to SQL

Hello

In my databases under Windows 2003 R2 10.2.0.4, there are total 5 different plans for one of my SQL and are listed in DBA_HIST_SQL_PLAN and also available in my AWR (can generate details using awrsqrpt.sql). This SQL is aged out shared pool and when loading the next time, he uses different plans (due to bind peeking), and one of these plans is a curse. Now someone can advise me if I can join a plan that is in CWA but not in the shared pool, and I have no idea Oracle could be rolling the next time.

Thank you

Salman

Hello

Thank you all for your help and your advice. Directly, it is not possible, but indirectly, we can do it. More wire is worth watching.

  • Retrieve and display a result set using the dynamic sql?

    Hi all

    How would display a result set in Oracle using the dynamic SQL? Reason being, the table where I'd retrieve and display the result set is a GLOBAL TEMP TABLE created in a stored procedure. If I try to use the loop as usual, the compiler complains that the table does not exist. This makes sense because the compiler does not recognize the table because it is created dynamically. Here is an example:

    create or replace PROCEDURE maketemptab IS
    sql_stmt VARCHAR2 (500);
    OutputString VARCHAR2 (50);

    BEGIN
    -create temporary table
    sql_stmt: = ' CREATE of TABLE TEMPORARY GLOBAL globtemptab (id NUMBER, col1 VARCHAR2 (50))';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt;
    dbms_output.put_line ('... created table ');

    -Insert a row into the temporary table
    sql_stmt: = "INSERT INTO globtemptab values (1, 'some data of a test')';"
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt;
    dbms_output.put_line ('... inserted row ');

    -Insert a row into the temporary table
    sql_stmt: = ' INSERT INTO globtemptab values (2, "some more test data");
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt;
    dbms_output.put_line ('... inserted row ');

    -Select the row on temporary table
    sql_stmt: = 'SELECT col1 FROM globtemptab WHERE id = 1';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt INTO outputstring;
    dbms_output.put_line ('... selected line: ' | outputstring);

    -drop temporary table
    sql_stmt: = 'DROP TABLE globtemptab;
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt;
    dbms_output.put_line ('... moved table ');

    -display the result set
    for tabdata loop (select col1 from globtemptab)
    dbms_output.put_line ('... test of recovered data are' | tabdata.col1)
    end loop;
    end;

    In short, how to rewrite the SQL below the comment "to display the result set" using the dynamic sql?

    Thank you
    Amedeo.

    Hello

    Try this:

    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE maketemptab IS
       sql_stmt     VARCHAR2(500);
       outputstring VARCHAR2(50);
       v_cursor     SYS_REFCURSOR;
       v_col1       VARCHAR2(30);
    BEGIN
       -- create temp table
       sql_stmt := 'CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE globtemptab(id NUMBER, col1 VARCHAR2(50))';
       EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt;
       dbms_output.put_line('...table created');

       -- insert row into temp table
       sql_stmt := 'INSERT INTO globtemptab values (1, ''some test data'')';
       EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt;
       dbms_output.put_line('...row inserted');

       -- insert row into temp table
       sql_stmt := 'INSERT INTO globtemptab values (2, ''some more test data'')';
       EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt;
       dbms_output.put_line('...row inserted');

       -- select row from temp table
       sql_stmt := 'SELECT col1 FROM globtemptab WHERE id=1';
       EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt
          INTO outputstring;
       dbms_output.put_line('...row selected: ' || outputstring);

       OPEN v_cursor FOR 'SELECT col1 FROM globtemptab';

       LOOP
          FETCH v_cursor
             INTO v_col1;
          EXIT WHEN v_cursor%NOTFOUND;
          dbms_output.put_line('...test data retrieved is' || v_col1);
       END LOOP;
       CLOSE v_cursor;

       -- drop temp table
       sql_stmt := 'DROP TABLE globtemptab';
       EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt;
       dbms_output.put_line('...table dropped');
    END;

  • set the load of SQL to Essbase Cube

    Hi, I have a cube ASO which I load the data using SQL. The database user id and password changes every quarter. I wanted to make the load demand... so I want to know if theres any way I can set the user name and password for the SQL code in the file.so evry rule don't quarter I have no need to change user id and pswd evry area in all the rule files. something like variable substitution

    If you load planning, I assume you are using MaxL.   You can use parameters to pass the username password in the statement the data import and SQL.  You don't set them up in the rule of the load itself.

    You can't have them set up, encrypt to MaxL (that I know) but if you can get away with unencrypted passwords then it will work very well.

  • PLAN to EXPLAIN verbose output when you ask explain simple plan on SQL

    Hello. In short, I have two questions: first, inability to run EXPLAIN PLAN via SET AUTOTRACE ON EXPLAIN and second, extremely detailed output when I connect as SYSDBA to bypass the first issue.

    Thus, question number one:
    I am trying to obtain an EXPLAIN PLAN via SET AUTOTRACE ON EXPLAIN to a simple SQL query:

    To work around this I connect as sysdba and get the second issue: the following extremely detailed output
    HR@XE> connect / as sysdba

    Welcome to the forum!

    Every time you post please provide your Oracle Version 4-digit (result of SELECT * FROM V$ VERSION).
    >
    So, first question, why I get this error? Object should be available to everyone, right?
    >
    Your username may have access to object. But you must have dba privileges to access the objects of database views.

    The "ORA-01039: insufficient privileges on the underlying objects of the view" message tells you that the user has privileges to access the BASIC OBJECTS used to generate the view. Access to these basic objects is necessary to generate the plan you want to see. To work around this, I connect as sysdba and get the second question: the following extremely verbose output
    >
    And that's because sysdba has access to objects in the view database. You asked for a plan, and you guessed it. This verbose output IS the plan and all those that oddly named tables are presented in order to satisfy your request are included in the plan.

    Make your query using DUAL citizenship or SCOTT. Table EMP and you will not get the error.

  • Planning of SQL Tables - descriptions of members

    Hi all

    Is anyone know where descriptions of members / aliases are stored in the database of planning?  I thought they would be in HSP_Object, but the description box is empty.  I'm looking for things like account Description, Description of the entity, etc.

    THX,

    Mike

    Here is an example with the member name, alias, and description

    And here is the SQL code to return.

    See you soon

    I want to G1234 empty.

    Can someone guide me to solve this problem.

    Kind regards

    Can someone guide me to solve this problem.

    No - not in this forum.

    This forum is ONLY for questions about Sql Developer.

    Please mark the thread ANSWERED and repost it in SQL and PL/SQL forum.

    SQL and PL/SQL

    When you repost you will need to provide the DDL for the table you are trying to update.

    Some columns have NOT NULL constraints that do NOT allow you to put them to null.

    Hello

    what the plan for

    SELECT * FROM V_ORDER_ITEM WHERE ROW_ID = :ROW_ID

    ?

    If it's the same thing, this means that the optimizer cannot merge the view (in fact, he can't even lower the predicate). Nothing in the view looks like he could have done fusion (such as the use of rownum etc.), so is lack of privilege VIEW MERGE or a bug in the optimizer.

    GRANT MERGE VIEW ON V_ORDER_ITEM try or run the query under the account of the owner of the view and see what happens.

  • How to set serveroutput on the sql worksheet?

    Hi all
    I had
    ORA-00922: missing or invalid option
    When I run
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON
    Why is this? I want to empty the buffer when executing the DBMS_OUTPUT. PUT_LINE.

    Best regards
    Val

    Valerie,

    As I see worksheet SQL does not support the SQLPLus commands. I have some doubts that supports packages of PL/SQL calls. You can try calling "DBMS_OUTPUT. ACTIVATE (BUFFER_SIZE-online NULL)"instead of SET SERVEROUTPUT ON" but it gave me error when I tried to run any command PLSQL.

  • Explain the Plan in SQL Developer vs SQLPlus

    Hello world

    I have a small question. Why a plan explain blocking in SQL Developer but return immediately in sqlplus?

    For example, in SQL developer, I write my statement and use the F6 command to bring up the plan to explain it and just, it hangs and crashes. It seems he's trying to produce a plan to explain, but it worked for hours now.

    When I log into SQL Plus, I do a
    SQL> explain plan for <query>:
    SQL> select * from table(dbms_xplan.display);
    The whole process takes less than a minute to get the plan of the explain command.

    Is there something fundamentally different running through SQL Developer?

    Thank you!

    -Joe

    Joe,

    F6 in SQL Developer runs an AutoTrace, which is currently running the SQL and also shows schedules and terms of the explain command. If you only want the plan of the explain command, use F10.

    Kind regards
    Bob

    Here are the steps I followed.

    I don't see a problem with these steps. It is correct. Step 7 is redundant (because of the where you have placed the tnsnames.ora file)-it is only really necessary when you place the file in another directory where +%ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin+ is no longer applicable.

    Note that the customer himself, needs to load the DLL of OIC InstantClient - and this DLL uses the settings of environment and the rest of "do its thing".

    If customer load another customer Oracle DLLS, then bets are open InstantClient is used, never mind will work.

    Only one copy of a DLL can exist in memory. So if some other s/w is using other DLL OIC, then this DLL is already loaded and will be used by all other client s/w. Nothing will be able to use the DLL itself InstantClient.

    Therefore, make sure that no Oracle client driver is loaded at all. Then make sure that when the client s/w requests to load the DLL of the OIC, it is loaded from the InstantClient directory.

    As far as I remember, the core Win32 LoadLibrary() call is made by the application - if the DLL is not in memory, the current (in the virtual machine for this process of Windows) directory is used. If the DLL does not exist there, the %PATH% variable is used to find and load the DLL. DLL usage meter is then set to 1. When multiple processes require the DLL, it is incremented. When a process ends, the usage count is decremented. When it reaches 0, its unloaded from memory.

    Result of all this is that only one module DLL (whatever the number and versions of the physical DLL files on disk) can reside in the kernel space, and you must ensure that the correct physical DLL is loaded by the kernel.

  • Planning for SQL server and Oracle db

    Hi friends

    We intend to improve our environment Hyperion of 9.3.3 to 11.1.2.2. and we will go from SQL server as our RDBMS Oracle.

    If we change DBMS, do we have to rebuild the total application or is there an easy way to migrate from sql server to Oracle

    Please suggest

    Thank you

    Upgrade the application to 11.1.2.2 while remaining on the SQL Server, then use LCM to export the application, remove the application, update the data source to point to Oracle, use LCM to import.

    See you soon

  • How to set up planning to download data in mode FORCE

    Hi people,

    I want to load data into FORCE, REPLACE or NLS with planning.
    In fact it download data using the default mode: MERGE.
    What is a way to configure the planning?
    Is there a way to customize the uploadding mode (as we have done in the FNDLOAD)?

    Please refer to the settings in the afsload.lct file:

    # PARAMETERS:
    #
    # For the DOWNLOAD:
    # CUSTOM_MODE - determines whether a custom line is updated or not.
    # 'FORCE' is to annihilate any customization.
    # A value other than 'FORCE' is to preserve customization.
    # Default is to preserve customization.
    # UPLOAD_MODE - NLS: whenever you run to download translations of NLS.
    # REPLACE: previously remove all entries and only insert is necessary
    # MERGE: find the corresponding line (that they are up-to-date, it is controlled
    (# by CUSTOM_MODE). If the row not found correspondence, insert it.
    # NOTE: REPLACE and MERGE are used only for the MENU ENTRY

    He is Laurence, nursery development for planning. Running in FORCE or NLS mode is not supported in planning right now. You can go ahead and sign a request for development through SR. The solution might be to take the ldt file in the extract and manually launch the FNDLOAD on the target instance.
