Set Up as a new phone or restore?

Hello!

I had an iPhone 3 something, there is some time, and one day when he bricked, and my service provider would not subsidize a new, I just bought an Android not expensive and used since. Then, I decided to change carriers because I wanted an iPhone again. What I was wondering is, since it's now a different carrier, and phones are of different ages, (iPhone 3 iPhone 6), should I set up as a 'new phone' or can I 'restore' it?

And if I need to set up as 'new', I'll keep all the apps I had already bought (and since updated), or what? I mean, if I don't lose the apps, I feel that I would rather set up as "new" anyway since I'll probably make a number of changes.

Are you sure that you always backup? I guess if you have one, it's in iTunes.

All content you purchase with your ID Apple can be downloaded again free of charge as long as it remains available in the App Store, iTunes or iBooks Store. If the phone was that old, your backup can be so outdated, it is not worth using. The parameters would be so different in iOS 9 of what they were in the iOS 6 or whatever that you used on the old phone.

I would be put in place as new and download apps, music and videos that you want again or sync it to iTunes on your computer, if that's what you were doing.

There should be a backup for the old iPhone and the new iPhone that you just set up as new.

The new iPhone you just configure would not overwrite the old backup iPhone.

  • Implementation of a new iPhone 6 s. iCloud backup. My last backup shows gray, under bed «iOS 9.3.1» required Is the new phone that apple sent me by mail is not up to date? Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

I need help with the backup of a new s 6. The backup screen choose watch my last backup in gray. Making it inaccessible and says iOS required 9.3.1. I have set up as a new iPhone and make sure this new phone has iOS 9.3.1, and then try to install the most recent backup?

iOS 9.3.1 just came out recently, so it's quite possible that there is an older version of iOS installed on it.

Set up as a new phone, using the same Apple ID, then update 9.3.1 (settings > general > software update).

After it is updated, restore from your backup.

Key issue here, what kind of iPhone has your old phone? And what version of the operating system on your computer?

Because of the noise of it, it seems that your computer is now obsolete. It's why he can only get up to a certain version of iTunes. It's a bit silly, but I wasn't expecting my 12yrold computer running windows vista to last very long. So it happened to me, but that's just technological progress.

  • New phone Restore - Code of Restriction has changed?

So I got a new phone to replace a broken.  I restored from my last backup.  I was sure that I have no restrictions enabled on my broken phone.  However, catering for the new iPhone has allowed restrictions, and I can not get connected with the last restriction code I had set and even have the code stored in my password program.  I have even tried all the other 4 digit code that I've ever used, and none of them works.

Is there a problem with the restorations of corrupt or modify the restriction code?

So it appears I have to completely wipe my phone via iTunes and start again because the backup and restore process has somehow allowed restrictions and changed my restriction code.  So much for the backup of my phone.

I do not understand what it means to 'clear the recovery mode '.  It could mean erase using recovery mode, or it may mean something quite opposite.

In any case, try to use the procedure described in "Erase your device with the recovery mode" in the article of HT204306 you fixed above.  If this fails, contact Apple Support such as suggested in the "Get more help" section of this article.

I just got an iPhone 6 and when I plugged in my laptop, he asked if I wanted to restore my new phone. I said yes! But unfortunately chose the wrong backup restore with. Is there a way I can go back to how my phone was before?

Yes, you can as long as you understand that you will lose everything that is currently on the phone.

    (1) settings > General > reset > erase content and settings

That will make the iPhone as new.  Then, during the installation process it again once will ask you if you want to restore from an existing backup.  You can then restore the scheduled backup.

Cards don't yield - you'll need to add them to the Apple pay separately on your new iPhone (every combination of payment card and the device is assigned an account number single device).
