• Easy way to import existing sites in CS4 to CC

  Newbie with CC... I just downloaded the trial 30 CC of Dreamweaver after you have used previously, until 2 days ago CS4. The first opening of CC of Dreamweaver, I had the ability to import settings from a previous version of Dreamweaver. I thought that this would bring in all my existing sites? However, it seems that the dialog manage sites is completely empty. Can someone tell me if there is a quick way to import all my previous definitions of the site of CS4 without having to manually import .ste files? I am not sure I have ALL the .ste files, but perhaps most of them. It's just a real pain, having to import one by one. Would be VERY grateful for any advice. Thank you all.

  If you have previously exported all your CS4 .ste files site definitions, you can use these files to import settings into DW CC.  That said, CC is quite a leap of CS4.  In fact it might work better if you manually create the new CC site definitions.    Site > new Site...

• Management of the site - a Site within a Site?  CS4

  As a general rule, I can set up a site, but I can't using site management, if I'm trying to set up a site that is located on another site, if you see what I mean?

  I'm using XAMP on my PC.

  I have several sites that I work on and they have their own accommodation, so it's easy.  I have a problem with a new website that I'm developing, and I put it in place in a folder in a site myself for the online test.  DSo my tree looks a bit like this:

  Dreamweaver you yell at you to define a site within a site, but it doesn't prevent you to do so. The only problem is with the timing of the site, which does not work when the sites are nested.

  However, there is no need to nest sites on your local development computer if you go to separate completely the customer site. All you need to do is indicate the host of your remote server site definition directory in the subdirectory of your own Web site. Dreamweaver is not interested in whether it is the root of the real server; He just wants to know where the root of the site. However, to do this, you use links from the document, no links from the root of the site.

  A longer term solution could be to study the implementation of the subdomains on your site to test customer sites. However, I have never used subdomains myself, so can't help you with that. I'm not sure others have done, however.

  If they are, you are on the spot. The folder that lists these files is your site.

  You can simply create a new site definition in DW and point the local site root to the folder that contains these files, and you're good to go.

  And your friend can give you the passwords / qualifications to web services / servers & you can set it as a remote site of the site definitions.

  Our corporate website was built with Dreamweaver CS4, many years ago by someone who is no longer connected with the company. We cannot update more because it is not supported and cannot access now, we have upgraded computer.

  Is there a way to transfer all of this directly updated to the Dreamweaver course, I think that its CS6 or perhaps CC? or it shall be built again from scratch? or do I need to download all files relevant to the site and then re - download format installed again?

  I'm not a Web Designer, just the receptionist who is usually needed updates. Please can you help me?

  Dreamweaver is just an enhanced word processor, to HTML files, CSS and JS and PHP scripts. These are the same files that are used in the deployment of web sites. Therefore, a Dreamweaver upgrade does not affect the web site or its files...

  If you still have the original files on a local computer, you will be able to use in the new version of DW. If you do not have local files, you will need to enter them on the remote server. This is where it gets complicated because it depends on what kind of website you have. If it is a right site forward, there is no problem. However, if the site is the database, you will need also to download a copy of the database to the local server or be able to communicate with the remote database. If the web site is based on a framework like WordPress, then the only need of DW is able to change the style.

  If you want to use the URL m.domainname.com, then it is best to place the index file in this folder, which is the root/m in order to run by default. Other files/assets are related, that's why it doesn't matter where they are as long as the link is correct.

• Problem setting transition duration first pro cs4. Is this a bug?

  I have made a project of first pro cs4 and I'm having problems setting the duration of transitions between clips. I have my default transion set to cross dissolve them and 15 frames in length. When I try to lengthen, it seems that first makes two transitions in instead of a longer one. So, if for example I got a clip with a dip to black when I extend more than 15 default images to say 30 images I get two separate transitions one after the other instead of a long. I know it's difficult to understand so I downloaded the video on youtube. If fast forward you to the minute 01:20, you will see the latest bland given away with a dip to black transition and the you'll be right flash a bit after the last light disappears. I hope someone can help me solve this problem, as I'm completaly lost. Thank you :-)

  Work waaay too hard at this, dude.  Just use the default chained.  It gives you good fade to the top using all 24 images, no adjustment necessary.

• Setting up a site

  I work in an environment where the development server is available by using an ftp connection as the Production Server. Is it possible to put in place so that I can synchronize the two sites.

  You have PFS (Perfect Forward Secrecy) configured on the ASA and not the router. This could be one of the reasons why the tunnel fails in Phase 2.

  If you do not need a PFS, can you not make a 'no encryption card WAN_map 1 set pfs' the configuration of the ASA and make appear the tunnel.

  Trying to put up a new site in DW6 but the server Panel does not work. See attached picture. Nothing there but a presentation explanatory text. No buttons, nothing.

  Upgrade will not replace your existing version. After the installation of CS 6, you will always have your old version, CS 6 will be installed as a separate entity.

  Trial version is similar to the full version just with the exception that it works for 30 days.
