  I'm fairly new to Dreamweaver and I never quite understand how to properly set up a new site the way I want. It's all very confusing sometimes to go right, as I never have taugh by someone who knows. Here's the problem:

  I am doing a project for a new client and FTP'ing the files on their server. Once I get to the host in Filezilla, there is a list of all their files as it should. The establishment they want is:

  In their folder httpdocs on the host, create the directory for the name of the customer that we do and in this framework, put all the site files to get it out it is like this:

  client/httpdocs folder

  -This fichier.jpg

  -This upploadare

  -the files.html

  On my computer, I have these installation files for this and other job opportunities as a whole to help see:

  Websitebuilds

  -Client file

  -Assets

  -Revisions

  -Designs

  -Backgrounds

  -FTP Upload

  -This fichier.jpg

  -This upploadare

  -the files.html

  -Other customers

  -It

  -It

  -Those

  Now, I want only the files IN the folder FTP UPLOAD to the server (under their client in httpdocs folder) and not the actual file UPLOAD FTP.  In Site Manager, I put it up like this:

  File C:\Users\Me\MyStuff\Websitebuilds\Customer

  In the files in Dreamweaver Local window, it says:

  Websitebuilds

  -What customer

  -Assets

  -Revisions

  -Designs

  -Backgrounds

  -FTP Upload

  -This fichier.jpg

  -This upploadare

  -the files.html

  On the server I have FTP'd, has this:

  Client file

  -FTP Upload

  -This fichier.jpg

  -This upploadare

  -the files.html

  I want only the files to show, not the UPLOAD FTP folder and files.

  Can't seem to understand or to do it properly - any advice would be great. Hope that I was clear with all this.

  Basically, DW copies the structure of local site to the remote server.  If you organize things differently on the remote site after all, he is transferred, there is a great risk that assets and links will not properly work because of bad roads.

  Move local files to root and remove the FTP UPLOAD folder.

  I have a hard drive of aging, so I reinstalled everything on a new drive. The problem is, I have to set up all my files again site management. Is there a file I can copy former overall upward instead of having to find all the passwords and settings of the client?

  EXPORT the Site Manager on the old installation of DW. IMPORT into the new

• I can't connect to tauweb - cms.tau.ac.il .the site is ok.icleared cookies and cache and still does not load

  Today, I talked with the Manager of the site informing them that the problem was due to many users.

  On a MacBook Pro to CS5 and full load...

  I have the correct info in the MANAGEMENT of the SITE... because when I hit TEST, he managed to connect.  I can see the files in the REMOTE SITE.  I can download a file.  I can't download a file.  The GET and PUT are gray.

  If I try to download a file, I get an error box:

  Strange fact... I have a program called FTP which allows upload and download.  I looked at all the parameters of the site.  They seem to be the same.

  Are you sure you have the correct download defined folder.

  If the incorrect folder. (or any folder) is set you will be able to connect and download via ftp, but not to load, (using a standalone ftp program this problem maybe not obvious).

• How do I manually re-create the site (.ste) for an existing site definition?

  The hard drive of my iMac recently failed and had to be replaced.

  Although I had backed up my website files, I don't have a backup of the file management of the Site (* .ste) site.

  So, I can't manage this site in Dreamweaver (reinstalled on the new hard drive).

  In some discussions of the forum, there are references to "you manually re-create the site definition". How can I do this?

  I keep a file of backup password protected STE files on remote server.

  Before that you must define a local site folder, manually enter your remote site settings and login details (I keep these details in a rolodex card).  If you do not have this information, you will need to contact your webhost.

  DOWNLOAD pages and no one to load the files from remote server.  You should be good to go.

• Problem adding email address to the site 'Manage your Apple ID'

  I want to add my XYZ e-mail address in the section "reachable to the ' site ' manage your Apple ID. However, I get the following message: "this e-mail address is already in use with another apple ID".

  Note that I have my email set up as my 'rescue email' XYZ on my site ' manage your Apple ID ".

  Could it be the cause of the problem? In other words, the rescue email CAN NOT be used in the section "can be reached to the?

  If it's NOT a problem, then why am I allowed to use my e-mail XYZ as my 'rescue email' address for my Apple ID site, even if he uses another apple ID!

  I see you are trying to add an additional email address to your Apple ID. If you already have an address assigned as your email of relief, that is probably why you can't add it as an additional e-mail address. See this support article for more information about Apple ID addresses: on your Apple ID email addresses

  If you want to change the emails, you can replace the recovery email address and use it as an additional e-mail address.

• Synchronization of the settings for the Site (Manager)

  I use Dreamweaver on two different PCs. I use the same Adobe ID on each computer (that is, I see my email address in the Edit menu).

  On both computers, I have the edition > Preferences > sync configured to allow automatic synchronization settings and I chose the five categories for the synchronization (for example, Application, Site, extracts, etc.).

  I'm trying to 'move' all my settings from computer A to computer B. On computer A, I select Edit > [email protected] > sync settings. On computer B, I tried using the same command to synchronize the settings. I also tried Edit > [email protected] > manage the synchronization settings, select the check box to import the sync settings (which says that the cloud settings will be imported on the next launch) and restart Dreamweaver. However, the extracted component does not contain my snippets on computer B, my named workspace is not in the list of workspaces, it is not all of the sites listed in the dialog box Manage Sites, etc.

  First, the Site synchronization synchronizes only parameters associated with a site.  He won't move a site from computer A to computer B.  The reason is that Adobe does not store your usernames and passwords as part of the synchronization.  Complete documentation on what does the synchronization and its limits is here: synchronize site settings, preferences, keyboard shortcuts, and workspaces in the Dreamweaver forums

  For other parameters, I try to go in sync settings in the preferences and click on manage account (on computer A).  So on this Web page, go to the settings for Dreamweaver and select Reset settings.  When you do that, you will need to go to A computer and download a new synchronization.  It could just be something doesn't work is not on the end of Adobe.  If this does not work, we go further.

  Check that there is no cleanup operation pending on recovery plans and there is no problem of configuration for the virtual machines that protects the Site Recovery Manager.

  A large number of files in your site seems not to be on the server. If you use file > upload to FTP host, please repeat the process and select Download all files. If you use file > export as HTML and download with an FTP external program, please repeat the export process in an EMPTY FOLDER and then download everything that has been exported to your server.

  Did you get the site built through Muse?

  If this is the case then under settings, there will be an option to enable editing for content you will need to check.

  If this isn't the case, then the person who built the site you put authorized role which has no access to certain things, you can see that if you can go into the settings and roles and change it OR contact this person to give access you.

• DW CC 2014 Site manager deletes the credentials

  I have a site that I regularly use that has no problems in CC of DW, but since the upgrade by 2014, whenever I start DW I got in Manager of site/servers and re - enter my user name and password before it will transfer or synchronize. It is configured to save, but it won't save Oh my credentials at the exit. Other sites is not a problem. Is there anything I can do to refresh works this site so that the credentials are saved?

  I deleted the Site Manager site and created a new site. This seemed to fix it.

  Hi all, just went live with my first pay site, unfortunately when I click on "Manage Site" from the partner portal, I get a 404 error page, and cannot access the back-end of the site. I can manage all partner sites and the trial, but not this pay site. It is visible from the front end, but can't manage it, does anyone else have this problem before, and if so, what is the solution?

  Contacted directly supported and it turns out it was a problem in Chrome 28.0. Upgrade to the latest version of Chrome and the problem has been resolved. Thanks for reaching out nevertheless Gaurav.

• DW CS5.5 'Put' can not ftp but manage the Site > can Test

  DW CS 5.5 build 11.5, by clicking on 'Put' or 'Get' generates the error message "an FTP error occurred - cannot establish a connection to the host" but the site > Manage Sites > server > Test, I get "Adobe DW CS 5.5 connected to your Web server successfully. Is there more than one place in DW to configure FTP? Thank you.

  After not working not for a week, all of a sudden today DW works. 'Put' and 'Get' the two will connect. The only thing I've done in the meantime has been successfully Site > Manage Sites > server > Test many times over several days. I am grateful for what fixed the problem, but I can't explain it.  I thank those of you who have read and examined my question.
