Several installation issues for the first time the user of 10gRelease2

Despite the doc who said certification 10g Release 2 Windows XP Professional (> 1 MS), clusterware install fails with YES-1-8001 (error - must XP ver 5.0 or 5.2). My XP Prof Ver 5.1.2600 apparently is not compatible. Error Msg suggests the Service Pack upgrade.

Tried to install Personal Edition, but has never seen the oppty to selection after downloading (clinet, gateways, clusterware) individual zip files into separate and then folders by running setup.exe from each folder. Don't know if I am running Personal Edition.

It is my first time attempt to install Oracle dB. Seems that my client and gateway installation went well, but I do not have something straight to start SQLPLUS or my question clusterware is causing a problem.

When you start SQLPLUS, entered by user name (e-mail), passwd, don't know what to enter for the chain. Leaving blank, a timeout exceeded. Do I need a login? SQLPLUS crashes if I try, and then click file.

You have installed the companion stuff. Get rid of it.

The initial installation software for the HP Photsmart 5510 series was the correct software. I finally resorted to re - install Windows 10. I was then able to uninstall properly the remains of the 5510 installs my computer which allowed somehow not all subsequent installations trying to finish. Unfortunately, the software would not overwrite the wrong files and it does not alert me to the fact that it was not complete installation. It simply says that the installation is complete. My guess is the ultimate failure of the procedure was the result of some entries in the REGISTRY, creating a conflict with the installation and full installation process was abandoned.

The process automated to re - install then took place without a hitch and all the functions of the printer now appear to work as expected.

I think that an option in the installation process to allow overwrite existing software on the computer may well have solved this problem without pain. The alternative that I had to go through has been extremely laborious and frustrating.

I am facing a problem, a strange problem with the ACS. I use 802. 1 x on my network to authenticate users. Thank you all, I'm able to resolve the problem.

It seems that the problem is with the software. I downloaded the new software fresh and re-directed runcluvfy.sh. This time, he threw the error/usr/bin/scp was not there, but it's there.

So, I deleted the file/usr/bin/scp of the two nodes and recreated link/opt/pware64/bin/scp/usr/bin/scp and rerun runcluvfy.sh.

Now he went well without any warnings.
