Shadow map resolution boils down to size Comp

I try to do some shots of projection camera. A key component of that, so not to do a fuzzy projection, is to improve the quality of shadow map resolution. I tried to change, but there was no Visual improvements, so I went back in the parameters of the model to find that he had returned to Comp size despite the fact that I just changed it. I'm running a 2013 Pro Mac w / 32 GB of ram. It should not be a material limitation. Can someone talk about why this is happening? This is the final step in what has been a bit intensive shooting construction.

Much obliged.

The solution is to bypass the dialog box settings composition by ctrl-clicking on the "Renderer" button in the upper right of the composition Panel and defined in the Options dialog box that displays the resolution of the shadow.

  • Name of the technique of "boiling down sketches" + resources?

I'm looking for: 1) namefor a certain art/design techniqueand 2 /terminology) resources to help develop the technique.

I want to be able to create graphic images by: a) Google search for photographs of objects such as animals, structures, trinkets, tools, etc., b) mentally boiling down the concept of the object to its Visual essence, c) drawing on paper than the representation of the object, d) convert this sketch to a vector to be digitally refined and finalized object (, simplified and ending e) with a final result that resembles the 'simple' graphs as described, shapes, silhouettes, icons - type chart located in the logos, album covers, etc. (maybe in a few years, I'll shoot for the more ambitious designs, but not today.) )

The technique that I write especially is the combination of b) + c) above, which I shall call a technical 'sketch of boiling down'. I am confident in my ability to manage a) + d).

I think it has an official name in the world of the art/design for this technique of "boiling down sketches", but I have been unable to identify it with the research. Also, I saw a number of Lynda.com courses on drawing and illustration, and as big as they are, none of them seem to specifically cover the How-to of this technique of "boiling down sketches".

    1) which is the term for this technique of, so that I can find some practical information about this? Any other relevant search keywords would be appreciated also.

    2) what how-to resources for the development of this technique that you would recommend? (Videos, if possible, that my brain seems to process statement better art actually look at how it's done in real time).

I have to emphasize two points:

    (1) I spent half a day to myself education on copyright law which concerns photographs. I am aware that convert a photo vector or tracing it or "melting" otherwise a derivative work off the coast of photography is a violation of the copyright of the creator. I have no intend to do any of those things. I am also aware that I can go online and license images that might meet my criteria. However, my intention is to avoid the right to author and licensing complications while creating the images myself and own copyright outright.

    (2) I am brand new in the world of art and graphic design. My personal development of this skill will be used for my own personal projects. Then, if it is inappropriate to post a question like this in this forum Illustrator, please kindly direct me to a more appropriate place. I started here because it seemed the location with the highest probability to give rise to a professional answer.

    Thank you.

  • Change resolution without changing the size. I want the crisper, either of the images.

Hi, I would like to change the resolution for the images on my screen are clearer.  In the control panel settings, is currently correct for its size, but Blacks are grey, and text looks like it's under water.  He told me that he would work more pixels per inch. But as soon as I increased the resolution in the Control Panel, my office becomes bigger, clearer, not of crisper.  Crispy, that's what I do, not size.

    Hello

Changing resolution affects how much fits the screen; You cannot change this fact.

Access the site on your computer or the manufacturer of the graphics card > look for a driver download Section > search for your model number and operating system > get graphics / video / Chipset Drivers (depending on how it is formulated) > download and install.

    Change the screen resolution.

  • disk C shadow storage: what is the minimum size?

What is memory ghost of minimum size for drive C.  Thank you

The minimum size is zero.  You can disable shadow copies / restoration of the system if you wish:http://www.howtohaven.com/system/turn-off-volume-shadow-copy-vista.shtml.  It does not store any restore point then maintains without shadow.  I do not recommend this - instead, I'd like to keep at least one or two restore points in an emergency - but the decision is yours.

    I hope this helps.

  • Resolutions, all goofy font sizes in new computer Windows7

Hey - I just built a new computer with WIndows7 and a Nvidea GTS250 Videocard. When I opened Canon DPP I noticed that my thumb nails everything looked smaller (than on my old computer) even if they have been set to wide. Then I opened an image in PS CS5 and resizes. At 72 DPI and 15 "high, it was all half as big as I thought it would be - this. In addition, the toolbars and all other fonts appear just small.

I went to the configuration of Windows 7 and checked display resolution. It is located at 1920 x 1200 Dell Ultrasharp 24 "inches (my old system was able to 1280 x 768 - screen). I played with seat size resolution and that helped a little, but not much - and then I bring it all the way up to 1280 x 768). Then, there is an option 'make text bigger' (or something like that). I clicked on the middle and then great. It made my way to large desktop icons, but does not seem to change the size of the text in the application of the PS.

Seems to me that if I resize an image to 11 x 15 and then when I zoom to 100% it must be 11 x 15. What Miss me?

You definitely want your screen must be set to its native resolution of 1900 x 1200. In this resolution, the pixel density is 94 ppi (according to Dell).

For example, in Photoshop preferences, set the resolution of the screen (under the new RFSO preset resolutions, in the units tab and leaders) to 94 ppi. Now, when you use the mode > size it must be the correct size to print screen.

Otherwise, your could (as you did) resize your document to 94 ppi and 100% view, but this isn't the right way to work. 100% view is to display the actual pixels (where the shortcut view) on the screen, only not for correspondence of print size.

More info about the density of pixels here:

  • Satellite P100-160 resolution goes down when the 2nd screen is connected

    Hi all

I have a P100-160 equipped with Intel 945 express chipsets for graphics. Whenever I connect to my laptop to an external display, it reduces the resolutions available for the external monitor and laptop to 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768. There are no other options. I KNOW that the graphic card can support a higher resolution for an external monitor that.

I tried all the sense of starting and restarting with the monitor plugged in and out, I updated to the latest drivers and and I flashed the BIOS with the latest version of the BIOS without result. There is not even in the BIOS to change display settings.

Someone has encountered this problem before?

    Hello

The favorite of the external resolution can be chosen IF the graphics card chip and graphics driver support this resolution.

In your user manual, you can find information about what external resolutions are available and taken in charge on this laptop.

    Did you check that?
If this is not the case, do it!

  • When I go to my pictures and zoom in on it and then click on print schrinks it down to size. I want to zoom and make the image more closely

I want to zoom in on my pic. and printing and it keeps schrinking it to the low size ot.

    Hi wtfe.

It is normal that you cannot print the entire image after zooming it.

When you zoom the image and select to print automatically to change the zoom level print as normal image.

However if you want to print pictures after that zoom you can only do this to some part of the image and import later than some larger version of the image in any photo editing software, save it as a separate image and then print it out.

    I hope this helps!

  • Photoshop CS6: Change the default resolution for the 'Document size' in the Image Size dialog box?

I have a Canon EOS 40 d, Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Bridge CS6.  I shot everything in RAW.

When it's time to change the images, I start by opening in RAW using Adobe Bridge.  When I finished to make adjustments, I click the button open an Image that contains the image to Photoshop.  When I put them to the top of the dialog box size of the Image, the size of the Document is still 240 DPI.

Is it possible to change this default?  If so, how?

Click on the text in blue at the bottom of the Camera raw window and change the ppi there.

Copy and paste the shadow layer style to another composition blocks AE.

This happens on Windows and OSX

    Is this a known bug?

To work around this problem, use a command in the layer > menu Layer Styles add a layer style (any layer style) to the target before sticking layer. Then you can remove the first layer style that you have added. The bug only occurs when. gluing on a layer that has not already a Layer Styles property group.

  • All my number of columns is boils down

    Hello

I registered to the Adminitrator discoverer s and created a custom folder in which I pasted my SQL query. My SQL query contains the column amount row of table ap_invoice_distributions_all (which is of type number). Then I connect to Discoverer Desktop to create a new workbook. When I run my workbook, it produces only 1 rank of all amounts on line summed up in a single total. Now my SQL returns 52 rows with amounts of different line turning into a FROG. I'd wait to see all 52 lines in discoverer desktop. Why discoverer the sum of the amounts on the line? Is there a setting I can change to prevent discoverer by adding up the number of columns?

The problem is not with my request. It produces a correct result in TOAD. But in Discoverer Desktop be summed up in a single row

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

Expand the inscription on the folder administrator--> right click on the amount field and change the 'default' aggregate amount at retail

  • It is best to set the resolution size and icon of the screen up

It is best to set the maximum screen resolution before attempting to adjust the size of icons and text on the desktop, notification area, Quick Launch bar and start menu? I know that the icons can be made to the largest and by choosing a lower screen resolution but y at - it a benefit to have the maximum resolution? My view is not too good and I need icons and text to be big enough.

    Hello

The screen, or the screen resolution, resolution refers to the size of the whole image displayed on your computer screen. Specifically, he refers the number of picture elements, or pixels, which are displayed at the same time. A pixel is the smallest element on your computer screen, the more pixels, the more detailed the picture will be. With fewer pixels, display items will be larger, but there will be less space on the desktop for windows and the programs to run.
