Shadows without distortion?

Hi all

I am trying to create a drop shadow in Illustrator for a logo. I thought that I understood using edges to feathers. Once I went to place the logo in another document, and resize the deformed feather logo. I would like to avoid having to change the settings every time I use the logo. I should mention that it is the shadow around the type with that I have a problem. Is it possible to flatten the shadow just to prevent it from deforming. I like to keep as a vector in addition. I'm sure it's a simple solution, but I feel like a newb here and get frustrated.

Thanks for your help!

Basically, when I resize the logo, gradient feather, I had in the original runs and is not as visible.

When you place the file in InDesign or Photoshop, it won't happen.

You can also place the Illustrator file in another file (linked, not embedded) Illustrator. Or you could do a symbol out of it.

Even when the scale it that you might have trouble with resolution. Depends on how the chart will be scaling.

    Hello-

is it possible to change a resolution of 1280 x 1024 on my new s1931a without distortion?  I don't care if it shows with black side bars.  currently when I try to do this in windows 7 it distorts the image (fun vertically it fills the entire screen).  I have not installed all the drivers for the monitor (it did come with a driver disk, however).  Windows 7 detects the monitor very well and shows the 1366 x 768 native.  also, my computer is a brand new hp.  Thanks for your help!

    I thought about it!

The s1931a is able to display many resolutions, including of 1280 x 1024.  The integrated ATI graphics card can handle it too, it's the monitor that needs to be adjusted to the correct proportions.  I had to use the buttons under the screen and go to the Menu-> Image-> Custom Scaling control-> fill Aspect ratio.  I don't think that I was able to select this option before when the native resolution was created under Windos 7, then you will probably have to set the desired first resolution before making adjustment on the command monitor.  Seems not as great as the native resolution of 1280 x 1024 and the text is difficult to read, but it meets my goal.

Thank you for your suggestions anyway, Big Dave.  Thank you!

I suggest you start by updating your video display driver.  You should be able to get the driver of your OEM Web site.  Once you have updated this post back the results. Mike Microsoft responds to the technical support engineer

  • InDesign: how tilt blocks of text without distorting the text?

I want to put in place several large blocks of copy to these requirements:

-the basic lines of the text are at an angle on the page

-the left and right edges of the text block are shot-on horizontal (aligned with the guides in the screenshot below)

-the block of text can be enlarged or reduced without changing the angle of the left and right edges

-forms of the letters themselves are not distorted

This screenshot shows what I'm after.

This screenshot shows the real bounding box for the text block.

This screenshot shows how the angle of the text box changes when I change its size.

I think Illustrator is a kind of function that allows you to "zero" (reset the transformations of a grid of 90 degrees) an object after it is transformed. Not finding anything like that in InDesign. And I find no way to set a custom angle constraint that would allow me to use the direct Selection (white arrow) tool to change the height or width with confidence.

I'd appreciate some tips! Thank you for your attention.

I do so with the example of shooting. Tilt works the same way.

    1. draw your rectangle, I applied a text frame reference grid (textframe options)

    2. with the Selection tool or the transform tool turn the frame in one direction, you can also do this with the entrance of the value in the transform Panel, what I would recommend.

    3. now, select the direct Selection (white arrow) tool and hold the ALT key and click on the frame. Now, only the frame is selected. Turn the other way, or insert the value in the transform Panel.

I also have another method to offer:

    1. Draw the main frame with the text tool.
    2. Draw a small box above, it must be much smaller than the main frame.
    3. Turn the small frame in the direction that where you want to go the text.
    4. Select the two images.
    5. Go to the Pathfinder > Add.

Now, you can add text or select a text based frame reference grid. He will do the same as above. May be simpler.

  • Can I resize a picture in a small banner without distortion?

    Hi all...

I'm doing a 879 X 593 px image in a banner about 950 x 130 px.  Is it possible to do it in photoshop without causing the stretched image or distort the items inside? Are there other options in Fireworks?

    Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: Too bad...  I thought about it.  I converted to a smart object and do a free transform.  Then I changed the size of the canvas of what I need it to be...  Wow!  I really feel like I accomplished something today!

  • How can I make my smaller work without distorting anything or by moving paths?

Whenever I'm trying to make it smaller move my ways and when I rasterize, it becomes illegible...Screenshot (43).png

In the transform Panel Menu enable entry to the scale patterns and stroke. Then it will evolve everything proportionally.

Why do you need to reduce its size? If it is placed in a layout like InDesign application, it can evolve there without loss.

    Thanks for help

    Here's a way

Make sure that your image is a square, with the chain focused on the image on a separate layer, with a layer of background white. On the layer of the string, filter > distortion > polar coordinates, using 'Polar to rectangular. Use the free transform to scale the height of the layer. Note that the vertical position will affect the overall size of the final result, so it would be a good idea to put a horizontal guide along where you want the final diameter to be identical to the original (I used the outer edge).

Once the image turns deformation > polar coordinates again, but this time use "rectangular to polar. You will notice that the string layer is now a ring, surrounded by transparency, transparency at the center point. This is why you add a white background.

  • How to resize a text box without distorting the text?

I'm trying to resize an area text, but whenever the text gets distorted. What I am doing wrong?

To resize the box, double-click its icon of layer.

The difference between a text box (aka paragraph Type) and a layer of Type normal, is that for the shape, select the text tool and click where you want the insertion point.  For the latter, you click and drag to make the type box.

  • How to rotate and turn the bar without distortion graphs?

I have a horizontal bar graph and I want it to have the same form as a pie chart that I as a backdrop.

What I do everything first, it is to rotate the graph (after the converted in an image) at the right angle, depending on where it should be positioned. After that, I use the-> deformation-> Arc to make it fit in the same form as the pie chart. But when I do these processes (in any order) I get a distorted image, with lines describing not concentric lines (not like Ray, I mean).

I got the perfect shape, works on a MAC, but now I'm working on PC. How can I achieve the same?

I enclose a picture descrbing what I tell you.

    Thank you very muchSin título-3.jpg

Problem is that you turn. You could apply the distortion to the horizontal chart, then make a symbol and then turn. Or: create a brush and apply to a curve.

  • Angle path of straight line without distortion wavy when put to the drawing scale

    Hello

I am a beginner using the CS5.5 and try to add straight lines to a drawing, using the online tool. They are inclined to about 30 degrees from the horizontal, parallel to the other. Used 2pt and color for the lines. Everything is great in artificial intelligence. When I export the drawing in PNG for insertion in InDesign to illustrate and design to adapt to the InDesign page to scale down (45%), the lines once perfectly smooth and straight are wavy, almost zigzaggy, slightly distorted. Not a good result.

Is there a better way to draw straight lines located on a corner of the drawing so that they are perfectly smooth and when scale retain their smooth straight look?

    screenshot1.jpg

    Any help appreciated.

    Kind regards

This is just the view of screen which is shredded. You'll find when we print it will be OK. To see a more accurate version on your screen in InDesign, select your object and go to object > display performance > high quality display

  • Stretch without distortion

    Hello

How to make the bottom of half of the cross longer without exceeding the height of the horizontal bars?

I tried to use the slice tool thinking I'll copy some of the background and paste on the lower edge, but can't seem to get that to work.  I can recolor, so this isn't something to consider.

    Thank you!!!

With the direct Selection tool, select the anchor point at the bottom of the cross and the shift drag to the bottom.

  • CS5 / HAVE beginner - how rotate a line segment without distorting the game?

    Hello world

I am a beginner of HAVE.

I did a straight line segment and added arrowhead. After that, I added and effect (ARCH) and the results are in the center of the picture / screen of the page.

I tried to rotate the arrow arched segement (even try to hold the key down for procedures) and when I turned it in position I wanted - the form of bud segement and so distorted so that the ARC has disappeared. I am very knowledeable on rotation of forms, etc., but this has never happened before. Is it because I added an effect? I know I'm missing something.

    Thank you, Jamie

Use the tool rotation (keyboard R).

With your selected drawing, double-click the rotation icon to call the rotation ther dialogue.

GOLD: Option-click on the center of rotation for the dialogue.

GOLD: click the center of rotaion and then manually drag.

Now the Option (alt) key when you drag, you will get a copy.

Now the shift is going to limit the rotation to 45 degrees or 90 degrees.

  • How to change an image without distorting the background

    Hello

I am a total newbie to Photoshop Elements (using the Version 14) and I want to sail on this bride not the stick upwards at the top. I can get it somehow? I've been using the function "Warp/liquefy" but when there is a background detail, it doesn't look good, because it makes the background kind of liquefy as well...
