Share my printer online

I have a computer at home, my personal workspace and another is in a friends house. I want to print anything from my workspace to my home or home printer a friend is anyway to do this?

Currently I use the software "printershare", but it is the only limit to 20 pages, I need to find another solution.
Thank you and solution given ~.

Assuming that you're not network two computers for other purposes (using VPN or remote desktop), you will need to use software that supports IPP (Internet Printing Protocol) printing.

One option is Google Cloud print.

Other options are a print server, which includes the ability of the IPP or other 3rd party software.

This problem occurs if the computer has the following registry value configured when you set the printer status offline .

You can read this article and follow the steps provided.

The new status of the printer is "offline" after you remove a print queue and then restart a Windows computer

    b. double-click the icon of the printer that you want to change online. It will open a pop-up window describing all current print jobs.

  • The printer settings cannot be saved (error 000006d 9) when you try to share the printer

Trying to share my new printer (Canon Pixma 4700) on my network in windows 7. Previous printer (Canon Pixma 4000) worked well. New printer works fine but when I try to share this printer I get error (000006d 9)

I went to the "system configuration" and restart all services and now I can share my printer with homegroup. I had a few services stopped before thinking that they were not necessary for what I was doing. I don't know why my previous printer sharing worked or what service was necessary to allow my new printer to share.

  • How to share a printer Canon MP 970 with a WinXP Dell laptop and a Dell of Win7 desk top?

I recently implemented a Dell PC in Win7 professional desk top which is ethernet connected to Verizon FIOS router home. This configuration has replaced a desktop Dell 7 years under Win XP computer. In an adjacent room, I have a Canon MP970 USB printer connected to an old Dell Laptop for six years under Win XP and connected wireless to the router home. I was unable to configure the latest desktop computer Win7 to share Canon printer. Older Dell/WinXP (replaced) desktop has been configured to share the printer Canon with Dell laptop, WinXP and did successfully...

In the laptop, I selected control panel > printers and faxes > sharing > drivers additional > environment, but can find no list for Win7. My thought is that the laptop must have the appropriate driver that allows it to recognize the request of Win7 Office to share the Canon MP970 printer. Thank you fo all help and advice from the community can offer.

    GrampyH

    Hi GrampyH,

If you have a printer connected to your computer, you can share it with anyone on the same network. No matter what type of printer you have, as it is installed on your computer and is directly connected with a USB cable or other type of printer cable. The people from that your choice to share the printer will be able to use it to print, as long as they first locate your computer on the network.

Printers that are directly connected to a network and not connected to a computer are available to anyone on the same network. These printers must have a network port or wireless connection that allows them to connect directly to the network.

You can read these articles and check if that helps.

  • How do I share my printer between my two systems of Windows 7?

Some users find that they have a printer that is not connected to the network that worked well in a mixed Windows environment, but their two printers on Windows 7 (a host and a client) are not able to share the printer.

Windows 7 manages networks differently than previous versions of Windows.

The best way to start with sharing printers between several Windows 7 computers is to set up a homegroup.  A homegroup is a way to allow different Windows 7 computers communicate with each other and share resources.  Microsoft has a good article on the residential groups that includes links to various guides.

Once the residential group is installed, the next step is to set up a host of the USB printer.

This Microsoft article details how to enable files and printers, sharing, printer sharing and the main steps of adding the printer.

The first two sections are fine as they are, but I would like to expand on adding a printer shared on other computers to Windows 7.

This process tends to have the greatest success with printer sharing in Windows 7.  Most USB printers only have a driver available in Windows.

    1. Select start > devices and printers.

    2. click on add a printer up.

3 if it is a network printer, it is not the standard current network printer.  Select Add a local printer.

    4. Select create a new port with a local port for type.

    5. enter------------ without the <> symbols.  The host name is the name of the computer on which the printer is connected to it.  If you don't know this name, go to the host computer and click Start > right click on computer > properties.  The name of the computer appears here.  Share name of the printer has been selected in a previous step in the Microsoft article.

    6. click on Ok and the printer driver appears.  Click Windows Update to ensure that it is the most recent list.

    7. Select the printer model in the list.

    8. follow the rest of the guests.

At the end of these steps, the printer must be shared from the host computer to the other computers on Windows 7.

A few important notes this configuration:

    1. only impression will be functional.

    2. the host computer must be on for printing to work.

    3. the host computer may enter sleep or suspension.  This interrupts the shared printer on other systems.

With these steps, the printer must be functional on Windows 7 computers once more.

I hope this information is useful for some.
