Original title: Windows 7 for 2000.

I am trying to install Windows 2000 on a Windows 7 netbook so I can run older programs that are not stable on 7/8.1, but I'm stuck when the program compatibility Assistant gives me a message saying "this program is blocked due to compatibility issues... the installation cannot continue because th version of Windows on your computer is newer than the version on the CD.

As suggested, a virtual machine would be better for running Windows 2000. More modern is no longer supported by Windows 2000, this is why you probably encounter problems installing it.

You can use one of the free utilities Virtual Machine to run Windows 2000 on your system:

You can use alternatives such as Oracle VirtualBox or VMWare Player.

  • This driver is blocked due to compatibility issues

    Hello

I have the Toshiba Satellite with Windows Vista home edition model. I get the above error message with:

    Pilot: StarForce Protection
    Publisher: StarForce
    Geographical area: not available

and my laptop also can't find the DVD disc drive. Please let me know the solution.

    Thank you...
    Leena

    Hello

It is a known issue between the Starforce Protection and Microsoft Vista operating system.

The Starforce driver that is located on your CD/DVD is not compatible with Windows Vista.

You must find a compatible driver Vista Star-Force.

I tried to find one for you, but it seems that all Starforce Websites are down.

  • The driver is blocked due to compatibility issues.___Driver: Tages Protection__Publisher: Tages SA___I want to delete this driver. __

I recently installed a video game (The Witcher) to my computer that has also installed drivers Tages (some anti-piracy software).  I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.  The game does not run on a 64-bit operating system.  I uninstalled the game, but whenever I start Windows I get an error message saying that the Tages driver is blocked due to compatibility issues.  The Tages software does not appear in programs and features or in the list of drivers in the Device Manager (I also tried to change the display to show unused drivers and it still does not show).  I want to delete this driver.

This is a bug with a fix.  For a long time I played the game and visited the forum so I know more exactly details.  But I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and the game works fine.  Also, I can confirm that it works well on Vista Ultimate 64.  Go to the official forum of The witchers to seek a solution.

Here's the question I asked about the order of installation to play the game.

As you can see, you are supposed to remove Tages.

    See here for more information.

Alternatively, you can go here to remove Tages.

The system error prevents you from the operating system correctly?

I hope this has helped.  :)

Can anyone of you tell me please
one) where I can get a driver to solve this,
    (b) stop this message that appears whenever I start

    Thank you

    Kian

    Hello

The TCtrlIOHook.exe belongs to the TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility control.
All this FN keys needs to control the software and TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility is necessary if you want to use the function of the FN keys.

    (A) If you didn t find these utility for Vista on the Toshiba page then it seems that Toshiba don't provide this software for Vista for the M70 laptops.

    (b) If you want to stop the message appearing at the beginning of the boot process, you must remove it from the OS or you will prevent loading software!
This can be done in the registry. You can remove entries from the RACE

    Hello

Your question of Windows 7 is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for Microsoft SharePoint forum. Please ask your question in the Forums of Microsoft SharePoint. You can follow the link below to ask your question:

  • Error "this program is blocked by group policy. For more information, contact your system administrator. "downloading program.

    Original title: virus

I can't download new programs, changing the date or make a few changes to my computer, that is the message I get "' this program is blocked by group policy. For more information, contact your system administrator ' ' how can I solve this problem.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft forum. I will definitely help you with this.

    I would like to know;

    1. Your computer is connected through a network of field?
    2. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
    3. You have any other security software installed in the system or that you have uninstalled earlier?

The question could arise due to lack of permissions due to the remains of some program in the uninstalled registry before. To further diagnose the problem, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Run the next fixit and check if the remains of any previously uninstalled security software is deleted.

The problems that the programs cannot be installed or uninstalled

    Method 2:

Give all the permissions on your user account and check if it helps.

Follow the steps to give all permissions:

    a. press the Windows key + R, type regedit.exe in the Run dialog box and press enter.

    b. right-click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE , and then click permissions.

    c. click Add under the Security tab and add a new group: everyone.

    d. Select everyone and check the option: total control.

    e. restart the computer and check if the problem is solved or not.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. I can't install ActiveSync due to "compatibility issues". I try to sync my HP Ipaq and I'm stuck now

    What to do next?

The successor of ActiveSync in Windows Vista and Windows 7 is Windows Mobile Device Center. Your iPaq must run a minimum of Windows Mobile 2003 or later.

If this option is not available for you, I suggest you put Windows 7 Professional or ultimate edition (if you are running or the another edition) and download free Windows Virtual PC with Windows XP Mode and synchronize your iPaq there.
