Help, please

Hello

Sorry for the late reply.

I appreciate to the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far.

You can try to disable antivirus.

The problem can also be caused by your security such as anti-virus program or a firewall of Windows /Defender that can have conflicting parameters as to not not to perform certain tasks. I suggest you temporarily disable antivirus programs and firewalls, and recheck the result.

If the problem persists, you can do later on new security that you was disabled programs.

Disable the anti-virus software

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

If the question is to fix, I suggest you to publish the application on Microsoft TechNet forum because we have experts working on these issues.

    Hello

I just got a new laptop (Presario CQ62) his March Win 7 - other computers on my home network under Win XP.

I can't the laptop Win 7 to access one of the shared drives or folders on the network.

I've looked through the tutorials and help files and do not get the case.

Win 7 does not support this Protocol, so I'm lost with how to get it to see my other XP computers.

I have already disabled the protection password to the "network and sharing Center" on my desktop. Is it necessary to do more installation in office and cell phones?

    Hello

An access denied error message may occur for one or more of the following reasons:

    • The folder property can be changed
    • You do not have the appropriate permissions
    • The file can be encrypted

Problems to work on files and folders in Windows can be caused by permissions issues, or even corrupt corrupted user accounts. These problems often occur after the upgrade to another version of Windows, connection to other computers on a network or even simply plug an external hard drive to your computer.

Perform the steps mentioned in the article and check the results. Make sure that you have taken ownership and read the sections 'number 1' as suggested in the article.

Original: SONY Vaio laptop running Vista Home Premium SP2 on a PRIVATE network
New: HP Pavilion computer desktop running Win7 Home Premium SP1 on a network of domestic (not homegroup)
    Router: Netgear WNR 2000

The two computers are in the Working Group: task force
In the advanced settings for home or work I put the two: NETWORK DISCOVERY ON
    SHARE FILES AND PRINTERS ON
    PASSWORD PROTECTION OFF
    PUBLIC SHARING ON
I tried the two use 128 encryption and enable the 40 and 56 bit options.
I have two computers on the network map, but on PC Win 7 shows, the VAIO username but I cannot access (use of right click) to the ck management, properties etc.
The network presents a double between the computers and the internet.
In windows explore-network; on Win 7 PC, only the folders on the computer are displayed. The laptop computer VISTA and Win 7 appear, but for WIn7, only the user files listed are default and the public. (NO user of the VAIO.

  • What is the difference between win 7 pro DSP OEI DVD and the OEM or normal Full pack?

    1. What is the difference between win 7 pro DSP OEI DVD and the pack OEM or normal Full we learned normally?
    2. does DSP OEI DVD comes with CD of instalation?

These versions are for small integrators (DSP = 'partners in enforcement service'), which usually contain a single Windows (1pk = 32-bit or 64-bit, not both as in commercial versions) and an OEM preinstallation kit to preconfigure Windows and/or integrate additional tools (OEI = 'Installation of Original equipment' or 'Integration organizational environment'). They have the same limitations that versions OEM = license is tied to the computer where the operating system has been installed initially and not transferable in case of death of the machine. • How to restore partition factory settings after installing Win 7 Professional and after having lost everything as a result.

I have a netbook with a partition that has win7 starter installed.  I unfortunately poorly installed windows 7 Professional and now have nothing available which was originally on the computer.  Everything was wiped clean including my ability to use / access my wireless, ethernet controller, pci, etc..  I tried repeatedly to recover the partition back to factory settings, but it won't give me the option to select the partition.  I guess that's because they are all two Windows 7.  Can you help me get it back to windows 7 edition starter of the partition so I can restore all the factory settings and programs.  I haven't lost any information or files that I loaded win7professtional as soon as I turned it on.  I have restore points, images, etc.

When I installed Win 7 Professional, not old Info windows.old file but I don't know how to access that is.

    Help, please?  Thank you

The Windows.old folder has two objectives:
    (1) can be used to uninstall Windows 7 and return your PC to the previous version of Windows.
    (2) contains a backup of all your files of data, documents, photos, Etc. from the previous version of Windows.

If you don't need either of these two options can delete the Windows.old folder. In your case if you can access the "recovery Partition" to restore the windows and then back the Windows.old folder before you begin.

Note: Option to change Windows Explorer to see the Windows.old folder:
Click on start and enter in the box "Search": "hidden" (without the quotes)
Click on the "Show the hidden files and folders" option at the top of the list.
    In the "Folder Options" window
Click the 'view' if it is not already selected.
In the list "Advanced settings" locate "hidden files and folders".
Now click 'show files and folders '.
    Then, disable the following:
"Hide empty drives in the computer folder.
"Hide the extensions of the file types that you want to know."
    "Hide protected operating system files"

Click on the "Apply" button and the OK"" button.

  • With XP Pro SP3 and Win 7 x 64 network connectivity issues

I have three computers on a home network via the connection to the router. Box 1 running XP Home. Box 2 XP Pro SP3 and the box I use is (my main box 3) running Windows 7 Pro x 64. In Norton 360 all the boxes appear. The Win 7 system does not appear in the local network on the two first machines. The software shows them as being shared and protected. Win 7 shows however all three machines appear in computer (win 7) and will not let me connect and I would like to receive files from the XP Home (box 1) machine. You cannot connect at all to the box to XP Pro from 1 or 3. When I try to connect to my main box 2 box I get this message

"box2\ is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Not enough server storage is available to process this command. »

Any ideas as to why XP Pro box are not accessible? As I said it has all the preferences enabled file sharing. The firewall is not the cause, and the antivirus is not the cause. I have disabled both to exclude it. I can use the utility to transfer files between machines 2 - 3 but that doesn't help me get the kind of access that I owe to my backup drives that are on the machine 2 (xp pro).

It must be something simple that I forget (I hope)

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • File sharing between 'Vista Home Premium' on desktop PC and 'Windows 7 Starter' on laptop

    Hello

I have a desktop under Vista Home Premium PC.

I would use my laptop, Windows 7 Starter, to access the files/folders on my desktop running.

The existing guidelines of Microsoft tells me to select one of the three options on the 'Remote' tab in the 'System properties' window, you get to via the settings 'distance' in the 'System' part of the 'system and safety' in the control panel.

However, the "three options", to which it refers do not, appear on my phome PC or laptop.

Exactly how you set this to the top!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_name.jpg

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

Since you have a network with Win 7 and the other version of Windows, you must configure Windows 7 as work network.

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.
