sharing file-Win 7 and VISTAcomputers on the network

Cannot access files shared between 2 computers on a network
Original: SONY Vaio laptop running Vista Home Premium SP2 on a PRIVATE network
New: HP Pavilion computer desktop running Win7 Home Premium SP1 on a network of domestic (not homegroup)
Router: Netgear WNR 2000

The two computers are in the Working Group: task force
In the advanced settings for home or work I put the two: NETWORK DISCOVERY ON
SHARE FILES AND PRINTERS ON
PASSWORD PROTECTION OFF
PUBLIC SHARING ON
I tried the two use 128 encryption and enable the 40 and 56 bit options.
I have two computers on the network map, but on PC Win 7 shows, the VAIO username but I cannot access (use of right click) to the ck management, properties etc.
The network presents a double between the computers and the internet.
In windows explore-network; on Win 7 PC, only the folders on the computer are displayed. The laptop computer VISTA and Win 7 appear, but for WIn7, only the user files listed are default and the public. (NO user of the VAIO.

I finally got the printer Canon MX310 toshaere after downloading and installing the software 64-bit, then SETTING THIS PRINTER to DEFAULT ON THE LAPTOP (SUSPICION OF PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEM other than PRINTER).
Now, what should I do to access folder and the files on the laptop VAIO desktop (WIN7) HP (VISTA).
I think that I put (at least) the documents folder to share. (I added a user to the permissions called NETWORK)
Also, I shared the C: drive
What am I I miss, I did too. not enough?

Thanks for sharing this information with us.

This will surely help the members of the community if they fall into this situation with their computers.

  • How to set permissions for sharing by computer/object and not by the user, share Mac and no Windows Pc

I wonder if anyone knows how put share permissions on an object such as a Mac in my case instead of the windows user.

We do not have our Macs in Active Directory, we seek to share an external hard drive only Mac and not the Windows PC on the network using active directory. I tried sharing the hard drive of a PC to anyone and both PC and Mac can access to this, but we do want Macs to see and access it and not everyone. There is no selection shares with the name of the computer in the share permissions, so the only way to do is share it to everyone. The Mac, accounts are local to the Mac and the PC on Active Directory, so what I do is have a way to share this folder with only Mac and all the Windows PC. All solutions, all ideas will help.

    Thank you

One thing I can suggest is to share the hard drive of a Mac and make sure that the hard drive is formatted in HFS file system + and not NTFS. Windows does not recognize HFS +. In this way, Windows users will not be able to access the hard disk.

Alternative methods may be available with Mac. Please contact Apple support in this regard.

  • Referencing files images, CSS, and Javascript from the system instead of workspace files repository

    Hello

I am currently using Apex 4.2 and I want to know if you still have to import images, CSS and Javascript files, respectively, in a workspace (like the shared components) to use them in an Application? Alternatively, they could be referenced in a directory on the file system? I'm still not familiar with CSS or Javascript technology and I'm trying to find out as much as possible about how to use and where Apex can do. All comments gratefully received,

    Kind regards

    Kevin.

Since you're using the EPG you will not be able to reference all files directly in your operating system.  You can load in XDB using FTP, WebDav or PL/SQL location.  The PL/SQL method is described in these posts:

A random overview of Oracle: loading images in Oracle XDB

Loading images custom when using EPG

I don't know if there is any benefit from their download in XDB compared to the APEX workspace.  Guess it would make sense that you had a file that you wanted to be referenced by more than one workspace and do not want to download the file in each workspace.

  • Sync was working, but had to re-install Win 7 and have lost the key to the synchronization

I got Sync works well between my Win 7 PC and an android device. But I had to reinstall Win 7 and am unable to set up Sync on the PC it gives me a code to enter on Android device. I stopped the service on an Android device (to try to set it all up again), but now both devices give me codes to enter on the other device. To make matters worse, although I tried to retrieve information from the PC prior to the relocation, I lost my key of Firefox Sync. Help, please.

P.S. all this can be reset your end, so I can start over again

If you still have the key of the synchronization on this device and then use this extension.

  • [Database Toolbox] possibility to Load From xml file in Labview and then in the database

Before you write in my database, I want to save it and reload if the user wants to cancel the new charge that can last several minutes.

If he cancels the load I get back my previous database data.

I managed to save my database in XML through the "DB tools SaveRecordSet To File" VI. This VI records directly contains my database table in the xml file. And finally, I only if the other VI to load file will do the same thing, means load the file and save it in my database but it gives just a recordset in labview.

Question: is it possible just to load the xml file into the database directly through Labview?

Why, finally, these screws do not have the same behavior?

I don't know, but I just thought I would chime, that if you fail to do with LabvIEW, you might want to look by making your writing in a 'Transaction' database, if your DBM takes in charge (most except MS Access)

ALSO, I got a message from one of my drives is going to die, its my DATA d, the disk drive is ok. I'm doing a backup but cnanot, it gives me an error code: 0 x 80070002. Plan on replacing soon with a bigger drive.
None of my videos are deleted, lost stuff from youtube.

  • File recorded incorrectly and parts of the image are missing

I was working in Photoshop CC and saved that I made changes.  I have added teeth, skull, the eyes and recorded.  No problems.  I added the background and not registered, no problem.  I added the flame and saved... photo is destroyed.  When I clicked saved it changed the image and now the bottom is that partially, the flames have missing parts, the dog has missing pieces and my picture once done for a class assignment is destroyed.  If there is a solution, please help me.  Otherwise I'll have to go back and redo everything.  Which waste far too much time because I have 3 other assignments to do and who does not understand to make posts on the site of the student and watching the video tutorials for other assignments.

  • Is it really true that I can't view file creation date and time in the form of column bin?

I need to sort my material by the date and time of creation of the file.

It seems that this basic metadata more are missing in Premiere Pro

I hope someone can point to my error here - otherwise, it's a MAJOR FAILURE by Adobe. Surely, after file name, it is the most "basic" bit of METADATA required from a file.

Otherwise there is no solution workaround, other than the batch renaming clips at the finder level. (I tried the tags and comments at the research level, but can't seem to access it either)

    Hi Jim,.

Unfortunately, even when these data are present for the clips, the ability to sort by these data is broken.

It caused a lot of performance issues, then Yes, that it has been disabled.

and they still haven't fixed yet.

This is fixed in the next version. However, you must add the columns in the display of the metadata.

    Thank you

  • DB file sequential read and read of the direct path

    Hello

Could someone please clear my doubts about 'db file sequential read' and ' path direct reading. And help me understand the tkprof report correctly.
Please suggest if my understanding for scenario below is correct.

We have a 11.2.0.1 ' cluster 2 node rac version + asm' production and environment of his test environment that is a stand-alone database.
The query performs well in production compared to the test database.
The table is to have 254 + columns (264) with many lobs coulumns however LOB is not currently selected in the query.
I read in metalink this 254 table + column a intra-line-chaining, causing "db file sequential read" full table Scan.

Here are some details on the table which is similar to the prod and test, block size is 8 k:
TABLE                             UNUSED BLOCKS     TOTAL BLOCKS  HIGH WATER MARK
    ------------------------------  ---------------  ---------------  ---------------
    PROBSUMMARYM1                               0          17408          17407
What I understand less tkprof in production environment for a given session is:
1 - the request resulted in disk 19378 readings and 145164 consistent readings.
2 19378 disc bed, 2425 reads disc has given rise to the wait event 'db file sequential read'.
This statement is correct this disc remaining readings were "db file sequential reads" but real quick so didn't wait event tied to it?
3 - 183 'direct path read' there also. Is it because of the order by clause of the query?

The same query when ran in no no rac - asm test stand alone database has given below tkprof.
    Does this mean that:

For trace files in the database Production and Test, I see that 'direct path read' is against the same data file that's stored table.
Then how come 'this direct path read' because of the order by clause of the query and would have been in sort field size or pga?
Or this direct path read extracts real PGA disk data, and "db file sequential read" do not extract data?
I know, it's 'direct path read' is wait event when data are asked in PGA drive or what kind segment or temp tablespace is used.

Here is the example of trace file in the Production database:

Direct path readings can be done on the series tablescans in your version of Oracle, but if you have chained rows in the table and then Oracle can read read read the beginning of the line in the path directly, but must make a single block in the cache (the db file sequential read) to get the next part of the line.

It is possible that your production system has a lot of chained rows, while your test system is not. As corroboration (though not convincing) indicator of what you might notice that if you take (reads disc - db file sequential reads) - who might get you close to all the blocks direct read - the numbers are very similar.

I'm not 100% convinced that it's the answer for the difference in behavior, but worth a visit. If you can force and indexed access path in the table, do something like "select / * + index (use {pk}) * / max table (last_column_in_table)" and check the number of "table fetch continued lines" could be close to the number of db file sequential reads you. (There are other options for the counting of the chained rows that could be faster).

    Hi Laurent,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft community forum!

I understand that you have a problem with the opening and editing of files on the network in Windows 7. I will try to help you with this.

    (1) did you make any changes before the show?

    (2) you are the administrator of the computers?

    (3) are protected files?

    Advanced sharing permission

    1. in Windows 7, right click on the shared folder and then click Properties.

    2. click on the sharing tab, click Advanced sharing. Check this file share.

    3. click on the permissions button, click Add.

    4. highlight the account that you want to share this folder to (name of account that will have access to the file), and then check the box allow for total control.

    5. If the name of the account is not listed, please click on the Add button. Type everyone, and then click OK.

    6. click on all members of the list of users and check the allow full control check box in the "Permissions for everyone" pane and click on apply, click OK.

See the link below and follow the steps to set up a home network. You can set up a network between your two computers and share files between them.

  • Need help to set up officejet pro 8600 and scanning to the network on OSX Lion folder

    Hello

I'm trying to implement my Officejet Pro 8600 more scan to a network under OSX Lion folder.  I have correctly set up the printer otherwise (and can scan and flown from my Mac).  I created SMB sharing as described in the documentation.  My only question is what to enter in the Web server of the printer when it asks for the network path of the shared folder.

For example, I have the following shared folder:

    / Users/me/Documents/scans/Durable goods received

on my computer that has name is:

    My iMac

    has an IP address:

    172.16.1.4

wonder web server of the printer a network path (for example: \\mypc\sharedfolder) but I do not know how to translate my way above in the correct format.

    I tried the following:

    AFP://172.16.1.4//users/me/documents/scans/durable------Goods\ recipes

    but he doesn't like it.

    I also tried:

    Recipes of \\172.16.1.4\Users\bvz\Documents\scans\Durable of goods.

    Nothing helps.

Thanks for any help or ideas!

    Hello

First of all, make sure to install the latest firmware for the printer.

SMBX (used by Lion sharing protocol) support added lately, and the device fails to access any forlder Lion shared with an older FW version:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02919168

You have shared the folder durable goods received ?

If so, I guess the correct path would be as follows:

    \\172.16.1.4\Durable goods received

Please let me know of any changes,

    Shlomi
