Shortcut F6 in FF4 RC "select address bar."
Shortcut F6 in FF4 RC is related to "Select address bar" and "Go to the next frame"-> "address bar Select" no longer works...
http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/keyboard%20shortcuts Why?
There is a bug open about this, the alternative hotkey Control report + L can be used to select the address bar.
If "Tabs on top" is disabled F6 will select the address bar.

Each time it manually to enter a url, past a url, or select a url from the address bar, the system requires that I click on the green arrow to go to the url. The entrance to key doe nothing. Am I the only one having this problem?
This problem may be caused by an extension (possibly AVG Safe Search) which does not work properly.
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions of the origin of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.
If this does not work in mode without failure, then disable all extensions and then try to find out who is the cause by allowing both the problem reappears.
- Choose "Disable all add-ons" on issues to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode to set window to disable all extensions.
- Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')
In Firefox 4, you can use one of them to start in the questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode:
- Help > restart with disabled modules
- Hold down the SHIFT key while double-clicking the shortcut from the desktop Firefox (Windows)

just changed after the last update of firefox. It's very embarrassing because the address bar and search bar are two different entities.
CTRL + L moves the focus to the address bar
Ctrl + A then selects all the content Ctrl + Del, or a plain Del, or Ctrl + X then deletes that content.

How to select all the text in the address bar when you open a new tab
I changed browser.newtab.url to a Web site with links, that I often use. Now, I have the problem that I don't always want to use one of these links. So when I start typing in the address bar text simply add the URL of my site. The problem would be solved, if the text in the address bar is activated every time when I opened a new tab (I could press each time crtl + of course, but I usually just type)
Is there something in the config, I can change or an Addon?
I had this same problem, but I was able to remedy this by installing this add-on:
https://addons.Mozilla.org/firefox/addon/custom-new-tab/After the installation, remember to go to add-ons, Extensions; Click on the Options button; and select the development of space in the URL bar.

I can use Alt + D to reach the address bar to enter a URL, but is there a way I can then go to the default text box, to enter data, once the search engine page was opened, using a shortcut key? I have the commands in the shortcut keys page doesn't recognize as not being what I want.
Not as far as I know. Sites may assign a keyboard shortcut to a text field if they like, known as an AccessKey, but he is not necessarily going to be any consistency, and the site you may not be using one.
It is possible, there could be an add-on or userscript to help with this. Or otherwise, someone might be able to write one for a particular site.

Select a Web site in the address bar doesn't automatically loads the page.
I've updated today (14/02/2012) v 10.0.1. Previously, when I used the 'arrow' in the address bar to select a Web site, the browser would automatically go to this site. This is no longer the case.
This problem may be caused by the AVG Safe Search extension
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance/themes).

I just upgraded to Firefox 10. When I manually enter a URL in the address bar, press 'Go To' does not focus, then the Enter key will not work. I have to manually select the arrow "go to" to navigate. Any suggestions?
This could be the extension of AVG safe search. If you have installed, try disabling it. Instructions here: use the extensions to add functionality to Firefox

Y at - it a shortcut to the address bar?
Not like
CTRL + K for the search bar then SHIFT + Tab.
or
F6 then tab (and in some cases another tab)If there are shortcuts in the address bar, then why isn't it listed here:
https://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/keyboard%20shortcuts?as=AAQIf there is no shortcut, nobody knows the reason why? For me it would be by far the most used shortcut.

How to search by keyword of FF4 address bar works as it did in Firefox 3.5?
I use FF4. How to do keyword research address bar works like it did in Firefox 3.5? I mean - in Firefox 3.5, if I typed 'youtube' for example it displays youtube.com. Now, in FF4, if I do the same thing it just opens Google (http://www.google.pl/search?q=youtube & ie = utf - 8 & oe = utf-8 & aq = t & rls = org.mozilla:pl:official & client = firefox-a).
This is a popular request - there are good solutions here:

I was able to hit just enter on websites in the drop down, before, but now it does not work. I tried the upgrade to FF4 thinking that it can solve my problem but not yet, I have to use the arrow at the end of the address bar to run to the page.

What happened to the button on the left end of the address bar which allow you to see the pages you had been so that you don't have to click the back button several times? You can look at the drop down window of pages and just choose whatever you want. I use it all the time and it is not on FF4. I want to go back to the old FF.
If you right click on your back button, or click and hold down the mouse button, it will display the list. (I prefer a click-right, because sometimes my fingers slide when I try to click and hold)

I use both systems, at work and another at home, they are all two Windows XP SP3.
At work, when I click once on the contents of the location bar, the full URI is selected. However, at home, it takes several clicks to select the entire line. Is there a configuration option I can twist or a registry hack? My preference is single-click to select the entire line.
There are two available prefs to set this behavior:
- browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/browser.urlbar.doubleClickSelectsAll
I prefer to choose all with a double click, so I can use a single click to set the cursor to a specific position, if I want to modify or copy a part of the URL.
To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the 'Enter' key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access this page.
