    Hello!

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite C50-A133 with 8.1 for Windows 64-bit (the system of English UK language) of the United Kingdom. So far I have not had major problems with Windows 8.1 but an annoying problem keeps coming back.

There are currently 12 languages/installed input methods, which some I have assigned shortcuts keyboard, Ctrl + number or Ctrl + Shift + number.

After the system boots, they work fine, but after a while becomes disabled without me aware to have done anything to turn them off. The only thing I can do is to open the menu language preferences and assign shortcuts again.

They disappeared in the menu language of shortcut keys, specifically each shortcut that I put has changed 'None '. This happens after a while little matter what I use the computer for.

Restart the system always back to my settings shortcuts but working with computer for a while turns them off. I use Avast, Malwarebytes, Auslogics BoostSpeed and Windows Defender regularly, as well as CCleaner at startup. I don't think it's one of these the origin of the problem, as happens when none of them scan as well. Using the Windows key + tab bar to change the input language works very well also.

All languages are displayed and can be activated in this way. It's just the shortcut keys that keep disappearing. It is not a huge problem but can be troublesome when needing to switch between 2 or 3 languages quickly without having to scroll through all 12 of them. If someone has had this problem and is there a way to fix it?

I have already explained this problem to Microsoft.
They had no solution that worked and he suggested, it was a hardware problem and I need to contact Toshiba instead.

    Thank you!

To be honest I don't know if I understand your problem, but I know first boot after laptop computer purchase, you can set the keyboard input language and that s it Mr. of course you can also change it and add some other input languages.

To me, it seems crazy that 12 languages are available as installed services. Who did this?

Can you please tell us how it all started? I mean I guess you use UK layout only and English as an input language. The problem with 12 languages seems crazy to me. Have you tried to change something? Have you tried to delete all the other languages?

Hardware problem? I don't know what think of Microsoft on this issue, but there is a simple way to check this. Reinstall the original recovery image and check how it works with the factory settings.

  • Several shortcuts keys / automatically continue

OK I begin barely using Captivate and have run into a bit of a wall and don't know if I'm missing something obvious.

I made some screenshots of a web interface of companies as part of a tutorial. There are a number of text boxes that need filled and there is no audio to teach them what to do at each point. As concludes the area of the enclosure etc. "P2".

I want it to do, it was automatically go to the next slide when the correct answer is entered. But it seems that it requires a click mouse button to continue. The interface has buttons next to each field, so there is nothing to make clickable, and adding buttons just to do animation contiue will just confuse the user.

I tried to make the shortcut key '2' so as people typed the last character in the right answer it go to the next slide. It worked perfectly. Problem however the client examined the project use the numpad 2 so it did not work for him. Would be perfect if I could specify either 2 but you can have a unique key or a combination.

Knowledge a way arounf that... hope I've explained the problem well enough.

Sibko, I have a "fix" for you. This was suggested by my good friend and colleague Adobe community expert Pierre Rickand is a really great piece of thinking:

    Citing Rick...

I know a way around this if you are interested.

    1. when inserting the ETB, use the option to include a button that the user clicks
    2. set up the main shortcut TEB to the number 2 keyboard
3 change the properties of the button is practically invisible. Configure it then * button * shortcut for button 2.

Voila! Two shortcuts for the ETB even!

Say your 'thank you!' to Rick because all credit goes to him for this great 'fix '!

    Good day!

  • Shortcut keys work not

    Greetings

Computer of my wife's an A200-JA1, running Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit, but the same problem existed in Windows Vista, this isn't a problem to upgrade. If you drag the mouse to the top of the screen, you get the menu to access the shortcut keys, but pressing on Fn + F__ does not work with the function keys. This is more important if she forgets her mouse at home - it leaves the default disabled trackpad, but without having a mouse to access the menu of trackpad at the top of the screen, it cannot activate the trackpad by pressing Fn + F9. It does not work. I tried several other - Fn + F6 or F7 to decrease/increase brightness, Fn + F5 to change the external display, etc., but none of them work.

There is a small green light between the F10 key and keys 9/0 below and when you press the Fn key on the keyboard, this little button (which looks like four arrows pointing outward) turns on, but that's all.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Mike.

P.S. somehow and we are not sure of the key combination, but she sometimes keyboard begins to display by using the characters 'red '. For example, when pressing SHIFT + / instead of get a? She'll have an E instead. The only way to reset seems to be rebooting the computer.

  • Keyboard 'walks' by the numbers 0-9 when trying to use the shortcut keys in the BACK of the programs.

I am running windows XP that is completely up to date. When DOS programs based in progress such as Blender the keyboard shortcut keys no longer work, for example, R to rotate, S for the scale. All character keys just to go to 0-9 in the order. This also happens when I use an input box, I try and enter a number, but he recorded just where the number sequence was stopped.

I have actually been sent here:

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The Blender Forum figured it out for me. It ends up being the constant guard of Comcast. I didn't think that I had the problem right after that I installed. What's funny, is that the uninstall survey had this problem listed in their "why did you uninstall constant guard ', looks as if it's in the investigation, they must be hard at work to fix.

Well thank you for the insight and ideas on how to solve this problem.

  • disable disk automatic check at startup in Windows Vista

How can I disable disk automatic check at startup of windows vista?

    Hi HowardGarlinger,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

He would be grateful if you can answer these questions to help you further.

    1. you have to make the full scan?

2 did you a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

    3. are you able to start the fine of office?

Let us try the following steps to disable automatic checking.

    Method 1:

You can try the steps to disable the autochecking.

    a. Click Start, and then type regedit in the box start the search.

    b. right-click regedit.exe , and then click "run as administrator".

    c. develop the '+' for the following keys.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager

    d. There is a value called here BootExecute. If bmssldr is listed in the data section and then remove it.

Otherwise follow these steps, the default value of the key is autocheck autochk *, * means every drive is checked for consistency.

    e. just add /K:C at the end before *. /K switch will disable autocheck on C: drive at Windows startup. If the final value should look like this:

    autocheck autochk / k: C

    > If you want to add more drives, the key should look like this: (by disabling the drives C and D)

    / k: D / k: C autocheck autochk *.

    > If you want to restore all default, just replace the key with the default i.e.

    autocheck autochk *.

Important:  The above mentioned steps show you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information, see the article:

    Back up the registry

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, try running a disk of Windows receovery environment check.

Try running the disk drive check WinRE using the full version of Windows Vista disk and check if it helps.

    a. Insert the installation disc.

    b. restart your computer.

    c. When you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.

    d. Choose your language settingsand then click Next.

    e. in the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt

    f. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER.

    chkdsk /f /r X: (drive letter)

Note: when you run the disk check, there is a risk of data loss you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

    g. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

If you need further assistance, please answer and we will be happy to help you.

  • Slow shortcut key

    Hello

This is my first question I ask here, I hope that I have to do everything right.

I use Windows Vista and has created 3 shortcut keys for my most important shortcuts.
Shortcuts are placed on my desk and I assign shortcut keys: CTRL + ALT + F1 (F2, F3)

If I press on one of these combinations, it takes about 20 seconds to open the shortcut (the shortcut is only one file, not a program or as sth.).
While Vista "opens" the shortcut, I can't switch from windows or access the start menu. The whole system crashes.

I think that this is not normal and should not be like that.

I have 2 GB of RAM, Intel Core2Duo (6420), an index of performance of 5.1 and I have disabled aero.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

    Frank,

We would like that you try to start in a clean boot environment to see if this problem is related to the interference from other services / programs.  Please go through the following steps to perform a clean boot:

    1. Click the start ORB, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER. (If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.)
    2. On the general tab, click Selective startup.
    3. Under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
    4. Click the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
    5. Click OK.
    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
    7. After the computer starts, check if you receive notification of the optimal resolution.

If you do not have the problem while your computer is in clean boot mode, a background program probably causes interference. You can try to determine which background program is causing the problem when the computer is in clean boot mode.

To find the process or program to cause follow the beginning steps to enable half of the points of service, in the following article:

How to perform a clean boot procedure to determine if background programs are interfering with a game or a program that you currently use

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/331796

When you are finished stable, restore your Normal startup:

    1. Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER. (If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.)
    2. On the general tab, click Normal startup.
    3. When you are prompted, click on restart.

Please let us know the results when you are finished with this test.

  • Shortcut keys and Windows 7

    Hey.

I installed Windows 7 and got all the necessary drivers. Then I noticed as shortcut keys (Volume up / down, game FN / stop / next / previous) did not. During the uninstallation of some drivers (context menu and keyboard shortcuts that I think) the volume buttons work but did not show on the screen. I have all the latest drivers.

Another problem, is that this update of the system does not start.

    I have a X 61 Tablet

    Help, please.

I found a solution to the first problem mentioned.

HID service has been disabled. I rebooted and configured to start automatically.

Always impossible to start update system however.

  • Disabling the shortcut key for Japanese input to "Kana Input" method

    Hello

With Windows 7, there is a rather annoying problem happens sometimes when I am typing using the Japanese keyboard layout, it seems I am struck somehow mysteriously a set of keys that snap into the layout of entry Romazi entry in Kana from the outset, the latter of which I know not my way.

This is a very undesirable breach I have to re - enter the language settings to reset it on the desired position, and I would like to know if there is a way to disable the keyboard shortcut, or at least be aware of which keys trigger that.

    Hello

To disable the keyboard shortcut, you can follow the steps on this link. You can make the easy solution by pressing the download area, or you can do the manual steps.

(Before doing this I suggest you save your file as you are about to change your registry.)

You can also try to check the Windows shortcut key you use this link.

  • Numbers to activate involuntarily shortcut keys

All of a sudden my digital buttons (on the keyboard, not the numeric keypad) Act as shortcut keys. And it's happening in all of my applications - Word, Outlook and database pgms., etc.. In Word, I could type 2, and the window opens asking if I want to send as an attachment pdf. A 4 me upset keytabs, 5 opens the restore, menu etc., 6 the menu style, etc. In Outlook, this is the same thing: 6 gets me a Properties screen. 2 seems to repeat the line that I was typing. I hope you get the picture. It is on a desktop computer, so there is no touchpad. It seems to happen more often when there is a / or. before or after the number (or some other special characters.) I have to type Esc to stop the shortcut and actually get a number type. I am running on Windows 7. I tried to unplug the keyboard and reinstall the driver. Anyone have any ideas? It drives me crazy.

    Hello

Since then, the screen keyboard on works fine, the problem may be with the keyboard.

Let's try to run the hardware and peripheral troubleshooting.

Integrated the hardware and devices troubleshooter can automatically detect and fix most of the incorrect settings and errors that could cause problems with the equipment. I suggest you run the troubleshooter to check if there is no problem with the graphics card. See albums as follows:

    1. open Control Panel

    2. click Troubleshooting and select the option to display all on the left pane.

    3. click Troubleshooting of hardware and devices and follow the prompts.

  • .Lnk shortcut keys assigned are not respected on reboot

I like the keyboard shortcuts to common tasks/functions assignment (don't we all?). However, I noticed a distressing problem in which shortcut keys assigned to .lnk files are skipped during restarting and must be reassigned to work again. For example:

Today I tried to "C:\Windows\System32\scrnsave.scr" a .lnk and assigning the shortcut 'Ctrl + Shift + Alt + D' to quickly screen in white. This combination of shortcut keys worked brilliantly until the system has been reset, on which the combo shortcut is more worked except if I reassigned it.

I also tried several months (years?) there is to assign "Ctrl + Shift + '" in Process Explorer (an alternative inheritance to Task Manager), but there again, the shortcut never stuck after restart and I finally gave up to on that. "»

The only shortcut keys combination that never stuck has been assigned "Ctrl + Shift + Alt + X" to capture tool. The only difference in the example above, it's the .lnk file resides on a partition of the BONE (in the "All Users" Start Menu to be precise), so the other two .lnks reside on non-OS partitions.

Any ideas why a concrete example continues to work while others fail to survive a reboot?
