Shortcuts FN L40 - 13G satellite with Windows XP
I have a Satellite L40 - 13G and I tried downgrading from vista to Windows XP. However, I lived a prob. I can't find a driver to make driver FN shortcuts for him.
First is the driver I'm looking for labelled as "Hotkey Utility"? If it's the only one, I tried two versions for L30 (1.8.9.2 and 1.8.13.2 versions) but it does not work. When I install the mouse gets lag and FN keys do not work.
Yet one thing I still have an "unknown device" in Device Manager, I guess it's because the FN keys do not work.
What should I do? Pls help cause I revenue back to vista and don't like him... :)
Hello
the problem is that some machines are technically (motherboard, graphics card, sound card) built for windows vista to won´t you have some luck with this FN - keys.
It s especially not toshibas fault since they must agree to their machines to vista and microsoft requires some technical modifications to this machine. Only the machines of the company are able to correctly the two operating systems, because business customers many industrial applications that are not programmed for vista.
Sorry dude, but if it helps you: I have the same problem and I have can´t wait until service pack for vista will be released in the first quarter of 2008.
Welcome them

Satellite L40 - cannot read with Windows XP SDHC cards?
Hello
last year, I bought a Satellite L40 series and a Windows Vista has been installed on it. I found that everything worked properly.
Since then, I found that Windows Vista is slower than XP, I upgraded to Windows XP and I installed all the drivers manually. Everything works fine until I found that I can read only SD card with the Ricoh card reader on my laptop. With Windows Vista, he could read SD and SDHC.
Like all of my files saved to the SDHC, I really want to solve this issue.
I detected on the computer that is my card reader equipment:
Ricoh Memory Stick Host controller (1.0.2.5)
Ricoh MMC Host COntroller (1.0.0.9)
Ricoh XD-Picture Card Host Controller (1.00.02.08 / 6.0.1.13)The questions are:
1. the drive to read SDHC card with the Windows XP platform?
2. If Yes, what should I do with it? Maybe I need to install a new driver? (If Yes, where can I find it?)Thank you for your concern. I'm really happy if you can help me solve this issue.
Best regards
JennyHello
You may notice yellow exclamation in Device Manager?
Normally, the Satellite L40 can read SDHC cards up to 8 GB so my question is have you tried different brands of SDHC cards?
I have good experiences with Kingston and SanDisk cards. In addition, you should check the Web from Toshiba site for an update of the card reader:

Z30-A-1E9 recovery media from the satellite with Windows 10 or Windows 7
Hi all
I have a Toshiba Ultrabook (Satellite Z30-A-1E9). It comes with pre-installed 64-bit Windows 8.1 home version. Whenever after a successful recovery process, the cell starts to upgrade the operating system software to Windows 10. It takes a lot of time and focusing on the material of the ultrabook. I'm looking for a recovery with Windows 10 or Windows 7 media. Is it possible to find anywhere or at least create it by myself?
Thanks a lot for your time!
Miroslav
The recovery image Win7 Pro does not work because your laptop is a Win8 Home Edition key.
You can block the automatic upgrade of Win10.

Contact Toshiba.
The starting point for all Toshiba Recovery option is the Toshiba Acclaim self-service page, which includes a link to recovery media .
If your recovery partition is intact, you can get detailed instructions of two separate pages:
- To restore the original configuration of Windows using the Toshiba Recovery Wizard, follow the instructions of the support Bulletin 98082971.
- To use the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator utility to create your own reinstallation disks, see support Bulletin 98082984.
If none of these options is viable, go on the recovery of Acclaim support page and enter your serial number to begin.

Media player shortcuts keyboard does not work with Windows Media Player 11
Salvation;
I upgraded my version of player 10 or windows media 11. Now my keys does not work. I was wondering if there is a way to solve this problem.
Hello
Do you mean the command buttons from Toshiba which control the WMP function such as play, pause, stop, etc.
On some Toshiba laptops, Toshiba command buttons can be configured manually.
Please check in the control-> Toshiba Panel controls. If you won't be successful I recommend reinstalling the Toshiba utility again

Any ideas out there?
Does anyone have this problem?
I reinstalled the Yamaha drive a couple of times and always the same: no sound?
I bought this unit in Holland and it was great until the problem of Service Pack. I heard that Comcom was a dealer right here. Maybe I'll have to make to them, if I can't help here?

Satellite L755 - Windows 7 loads OK but IE9 takes 15 minutes
I have a L755 Satellite with Windows 7, IE 9 and Office Home 2010.
When I boot windows 7 seems to load OK, the main problem is that IE9 takes an another 15mins to start after you click the icon.During this period of 15 minutes, I can use some programs such as word in a simple way, but if I try make a backup as it freezes. After 15 minutes, everything seems to work fine with the exception of the start menu which does not save the last used progs or I would like to highlight anything despite a reset.
Any advice someone before I re - install Windows that I don't really want to do.
You should see if ie9 starts ok if no add ons are loaded. Pull the top of the window "Run" by pressing the key "Windows" + R and entering this C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe [-extoff]. If it loads ok and then click the IE Tools menu select Manage Add ons and see what you can disable if IE loaded slowly then I would uninstall it.
I just searched to see if mail could be the problem and found this site that understands what I said and more [http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp]

How can I create system recovery disc for a new laptop with windows 7 Home Premium?
I just bought my daughter a new Toshiba Satellite with Windows 7 Home Premium laptop last night. The laptop came with a Windows restore disk. How to create a set of boot from the DVD then when the system fails, or I need a new facility? I created a system repair disc and two-disc Image recovery. Is this enough to fully restore Windows 7 to the initial state of machines? (Technology at best buy assured me that it was nothing that I was able to do and that they would do for me for $70.00.)
In short: my Dell came with a system recovery disk which was very convenient. I would like to reproduce this convenience with Windows 7. Any help appreciated.
Jim
You will need to follow the manufacturers directions to create the recovery media. Looks like you've done that, but Toshiba could only say with certainty. I recommend that you contact their customer service.
