Sidebar div do not stay where I put it.

Hello all hope your Friday is a good!

So here's what I have for you today.working on a simple design layout for a site. Try to do it in code and learn as much as I can. But here is my problem I have a div that is a side bar on the page that is floating right. It looks good in DW, but when I preview the it, it slips below everything on the page. I tried the setting that the width of a size fixed, but which did not help. He must not have a fixed size, but before I did the fixed size she slide underneath everything and extend page. Anyway hope that made some sense.

Next problem: I have a 'search bar' at the top of the page that scrolls with the page and it works fine, but for some reason when you scroll beyond the jquery slider is under him on it. I moved the CSS and nothing happens.

Page here.  http://www.metrocog.org/nostalgia2/index.html

It is a problem with the stacking order.  Try this:

. Search-stay {}

Width: coverage;

position: fixed;

background-color: #900;

Width: 100%;

padding: 0;

margin: 0;

z-index: 100;

}

    Kind of love Illustrator since joining Corel (outside of the head, scratching differences between the keyboard shortcuts for their flagship products - really learns that they have that nailed not?) I guess in a way to not confuse their user base who have used for years. But why not have a profile of Illustrator in PS and vice versa? (- Anyway I digress from the subject)...

    My problem is that when I select a node/point and make it slide (zoom in to about 1000%) when I release the mouse is not where I want it--I assumed it had something to do with the alignment to the resolution, but it's vector package so don't know why. I have commented, off benchmarks, even when they promised to align itself with the object I want to line up to... As soon as I release the mouse snaps a few mm wide.

    I guess that's something of a fundamental right that miss me the point (point. ) of as a COrel user, but if someone could direct me back on track I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you

    not 100% sure here, but since I see a lot of questions that apply to I suspect it's to do with aligning them with the grid of pixels. Examine the box in the transform Panel. is it enabled?

  • Why my anchor will not stay where I put it? It keeps coming from upward or down the line that I want to connect.

    Can't seem to fix it. It is not a network problem, I tried. The anchor at the end of this line, I train with a box intersection refuses to line up evenly, despite the Illustrator tell my which anchor crosses the box. It seems me to zoom in and see that the anchor is always pushed more high or lower than the vertical line. No matter what I do the line refuses to cooperate. Even delete the file and try on a new file do not work.

    You line up on the pixel grid in the files in question? What version of Amnesty International and the operating system are you using? This new Document profile did you start from?

  • My form will not stay where I put it?

    http://www.ostranderhomedesign.com/construction-contact-us.html

    The form is supposed to be on the right side of the paper, but no matter what I do, it remains on the left side. If she does not do the first time you then just refresh the page and there on out. Does anyone know why this is?

    Thank you! Russ

    Hey Russ

    Have you tried to pin the form, if it is not try and then check.

    Also, this can happen due to the overlap of any other object, or if there is any element of the blank page on the page that moves the image form on publish.

    Thank you

  • CS 6 Image Windows don't stay where I put them

    I installed CS 6 yesterday.  My system runs Win 7 64-bit.  In Preferences > Interface, like I did in CS 5, I unchecked the two Documents open as tabs and enable floating Document window.  However, unlike 5 CS, CS 6 images 'insist' to position themselves in the upper left corner of the CS 6 and will cover both the options bar and the toolbar.  For example, this will happen after opening a picture if I try to move it or I enlarged the image (CTRL-0) window.  If I open two images and try to move one, so I can see them both at the same time, one that I'm trying to move will not stay where I put it but rather will reposition itself in the upper left corner and cover the toolbar options and the menu bar.

    As you can image, this allows to work in CS 6 difficult and inconvenient.  I guess it of a bug and wonder if there is no workaround or alternative solution.  So far, I have not yet uninstalled and reinstalled CS 6.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Best regards

    David

    It is a known problem in cs6, if you have the bar of tasks at the top or left on the office.

    The workaround solution before it resolved must be auto-hide the taskbar, or move it to the bottom of the right side of the desktop.

  • THE DESKTOP ICONS WON'T STAY WHERE I PUT THEM

    I tried to combine some icons on my desktop in the way that suits me, but I often find that they won't stay where I put them.

    Sometimes they simply will not sit when I try to put them (especially near the perimeter) and at other times, after that I did something else, when I go back on the desktop what they moved.

    Thanks for that.

    That was the problem.

    When I opened the menu as you have suggested, "align icons on the grid" has been selected.

    When I removed the tick that solved the problem.

    Thank you kindly.

  • Why don't my desktop icons stay where I put them?

    My laptop is a HP Pavillion DV7 - 3164cl, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  My question is simple I don't know, but I can't understand it.  I fix my icons from the desktop to the places I want them, I turned off the computer and when I turn it back on, the icons went back to their columns on the left side of the screen, how can I keep them I would?

    Thanks for any help!  Janell

    Thanks for your suggestion.  I tried but appreciate your time trying to help me solve this problem.  It doesn't really help.  When I went back to the box that you sent a picture, I noticed the choice of refresh.  I re-arranged my icons again, refresh shot, handed over my computer and they stayed where I put them!  Problem solved.

  • Windows 7 pro 64. The desktop icons won't stay where I put them. After a reboot, the desktop icons are always rearranged.

    I've set up my office while I have the following icons down the left side of the top in the following order: computer, network, System (C), (D) options, reader of DVD (E), trash.

    Whenever I restart my computer, the icons are rearranged as: computer, network, trash, reader of DVD (E), options (D), System (C).

    I don't want to add all the new icons on the desktop, because I know they won't stay where I put them. When I was using XP it would happen only when I changed resolution but with Win 7, it happens every time that I reboot.

    Reorganization of auto desk is off, snap to grid is turned off, sort by has verified. I use two monitors. All the gadgets that I have in my hand right 2ndary monitor are stay in place very well. The icons gives me the problem are on the left side of the left main screen.

    I made an image of my hard drive just after the installation of windows 7 and before to install the drivers of manufacturers and updates of windows.

    Today, I restored this image, reinstalled the drivers from manufacturers and made the updates of windows. The problem seems to have disappeared now.

    I am re-imaging my hard drive after you install the complete driver/updating. I hope I don't need to use it, but I will if I have to. I still don't know what caused it in the first place, but at least now I have an option of fast food if it happens again. I'll recreate the image on the hard drive after all major software install from that time, I have two images. A fundamental right after pilot installations and one after each installation of software.

  • Windows7 task bar icons won't stay where I put them

    I spent hours carefully "pin" some 20 shortcuts to the Win 7 taskbar. When I removed some UI features, ALL icons have been deleted without warning.

    Then, I collected all the icons, this time putting them in a folder and put the folder in the to-do bar. So far Windows did not remove the folder or icons.

    But. After carefully put the icons in alphabetical order, all the hours or the icons are in a different order. There is no sorting feature for the icons in the taskbar (Windows 7 seems to have lost MANY useful features). The underlying folder is sorted by file name, but the taskbar seems not aware of my stated preference.

    What is happening, and how can I convince Win 7 I really know where I want the icons and ask them left in place?

    I know I can "lock" the taskbar, but I've never had to do before.

    Thanks for any idea you may have.

    Jon

    For years, Windows has had a feature where he puts most recently used icons at the top of the lists, or even remove items that have not been used for some time.  Since I was oriented "positional", this "feature" always totally threw me.  I want to know that a specific icon is always '(deuxieme from the left.  So, I disabled it in every Microsoft program that I've met, including Windows.

    I think that my turn this off in Windows 7 has prevented Windows to constantly rearrange my icons.  I would have spotted it earlier, but the shifts that took place were NOT correct implementation of most recently used icons on one end or the other of the list.  In fact, the transpositions appeared more arbitrary than thoughtful.

    If someone of another unwanted meeting moving icons of Windows 7, you can try to disable this feature.  Honestly, I don't know what is the name of the feature. Or I don't like.  This "feature" has lost a lot of my time.

  • Everytime I try and reorganize my favorites they won't stay where I put them!

    Everytime I try and reorganize my favorites (when I save one that is not at the end, more that it lies in the middle of the list) and another one of my friends got moved on accident, I can't make them stay in place. I used to be able to just click on bookmarks, and then drag the bookmark around where I wanted to and he stayed, or open organize and settle there, but neither allows places to stay! This is driving me crazy. Help! There must be a way to move the bookmark where I want in the list!

    after organizing bookmarks they later get converted

    Make sure that you are not in private browsing.

    You can rearrange the bookmarks in the bookmarks menu, the bookmarks bar and bookmarks-not sorted. You can rearrange the folders in the s in the library list, but not bookmark in the columns - sorting the columns is temporary.

    I find the best arrangement is alphabetical for all my bookmarks and use of the "SortPlaces: extension to sort by alphabetical order of their." I will not allow the bookmarks toolbar to sort when I ask extensions to sort my favorites, but I have 3 bookmark separators to break up into groups. A group is sorted within the group, but stay in the group separator. See the following article...

    I'm hosting my "Unsorted Bookmarks" sort, but I throw in bookmark separators down sometimes so if I set some people more late bookmarks into folders in my menu "bookmarks", I can find more added at about the same time to also move into the fold identical or related.

    If you don't think that the above applies to you, you're not sorting or synchronization of bookmarks, then make a clear change in say your bookmarks bar, then restart Firefox to see if the change is still there.

    If your change back to what you had before the change, check the timestamp date update on your places.sqlite file, if it is not running, then the file is not being updated can you can see another copy of the file named places.sqlite.corrupt which can be the one you need (check dates). Delete/rename then rebuild your places.sqlite will result in the loss of the story and you want to try all other means to solve your problem and making sure that you really have a problem before you destroy your data in the history.

    Minimize the problems of prevention: always close Firefox correctly with file > exit or the red/orange "Firefox" button then exit (not with the 'X' top-right that is close this window). Always back up your Firefox profile and all the personal data.

  • When I arrange my desktop icons in the way that I like them, how can I get to stay where I put them?

  • How can I prevent the office move my icons! On XP, they stayed where I put them. Help!

    I had my dear start XP icons grouped together on the desk as I wanted.

    Now, on Windows 7, whenever I connect, an evil force has moved their.

    It drives me crazy!

    Help!  How can I say 7 to LEAVE MY CONFIGURATION only ONE ICON!

    TIA

    HB

    Right click on an empty area on the desktop and choose "sort by" and uncheck the option "auto arrange".

    Also note that Windows will move your icons if you switch to a different monitor/TV or plug in or unplug a monitor.  It does if the monitors have different numbers of pixels, so no icon is set up out of sight.

    Hi BigBoyLopez,

    When this happens? This occurs when the computer wakes up from a sleep state

    You can follow the steps mentioned in the link below

    The display brightness may change when the computer comes out of standby on a Windows Vista-based computer state

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929249

    You can check with the manufacturer of laptop computer for known problems
