  • LR detects the wrong lens when importing

    Before it worked perfectly, but with the last update (version of Lightroom: CC 2015.3) LR detects the lens bad for my SIGMA 50mm F1.4 DG HSM objective Art saying I shot with a Zeiss Milvus 1.4/50 ZE. I'm sure it's a great lens, but since I don't own and often search on the lens I've shot with the base, this little quirk is annoying and embarrassing. (Images made with my SIGMA 50 mm F1.4 before now just update to show the "50mm (50mm)".) Bug? Anything I can fix it without going through thousands of images one by one?

    Thank you!

    We have published the Lightroom update that solves the problem for SIGMA 50 mm f1.4 lens of ART has been incorrectly identified as Zeiss 50mm f1.4 Milvus

    Hi rileyt.

    You can disable the graphic processor of Lightroom preferences to correct performance.

    Open Lightroom

    Go to Lightroom preferences in the Edit menu

    Click the performance tab

    Deselect the graphics processor

    Restart Lightroom

    For the sign in question refer: Lightroom does not launch or closes automatically after the splash screen

  • Destructors vs Non-Desctructive adjustments in CS5

    I need some clarification about the nature destructive and non-destructive adjustments in CS5.

    I know that (I) think that if I add an adjustment layer in CS5 that it is non - looks - please specify.

    Or... better yet, y at - it a document that explains how to make the adjustments that are NOT destructive.  I heard that all Ligthroom adjustments are nondestructive while are many makde adjustments in Photoshop.  I'm just confused because some of my files reduce greatly when I save in CS5.  I also use the combination Shift + Option + command + E a lot (I do not know what makes the size of my file and the destructive/non-destructive nature of my file sizes.)

    Shift + Option + command + E will create a new version merged your layers at the top of the stack while keeping the original layers intact.

    As long as you keep all adjustment layers (which are Non-destructive), you can save a file that you can open it any time in the future and you can change the settings in your adjustment to your heart's content layers.

    But save these files PSD, TIF or PDF Photoshop to keep the layers intact. Formats such as JPG or PNG, etc cannot save layers and will flatten your layers before a record and are Destructive!

    Medium SHIFT, Option, command, E method creates a file with a larger file, so to limit the size of just smaller file save file with layers of adjustment and do not shift, Option, command, E. These files will always be the same behavior.  Layers of settings can slightly increase the size of the file, but not much.

    You can also use SO - Smart Objects, when you need a filter or a technique that are not available in the form of adjustment layers.

    Saving a file with the Smart Objects will certainly swell the size of your file.

    Lightroom and ACR Adobe Camera Raw (Photoshop part) work Non_Destructively, but they generally apply changes globally (to the entire image)

    There are a few changes as an adjustment brush, etc. which is locally (only the part of the image), however these are much more limited than the changes that you can make locally using selections, masks, etc. in Photoshop

  • 2015.4 Lightroom does not solve my files incorrectly identified as Zeiss Milvus 1.4/50 ZE (should be the Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 Art)

    So I have all these files that I've taken with the Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 Art think LR were taken with the Mivus Zeiss 50. I was hoping that the update should fix but apparently not. If I select a file and click on metadata > read metadata from the file, then it will simply update it to "50mm" but it resets all my editing. What type of solution is it? What now? I want these files already taken to be labeled correctly, but I don't want to lose the changes.  Thank you.

    Ok. I didn't know that you were working in the library module.

    "50mm" is the tag EXIF lens written by the camera for the SIGMA and the Zeiss 50 mm f/1.4 lenses. Usually, we leave these data EXIF alone unless a manufacturer of lenses she asks be overridden. This is the case with the Zeiss Milvus glasses.

    The original bug is fixed (i.e. you will not see this with newly imported or non edited images), but as you have discovered, after making a change to an image in LR, the lens name is committed to the change data image in LR, until you recover the changes to the image. The reason why you lose your changes when you choose to read the metadata of the file are because LR is crush the image change the data in the catalogue with the xmp disk data. In this case, it is probably not a sidecar xmp LR replaces the current changes with what is essentially an empty file. It is similar to hit Reset in the develop module.

    There is a way to manage this scenario (retroactively setting the name of the goal), but it will require changes in the code and will be available in the next version of LR. Unfortunately I don't have a timeline on when this will be. I follow on this thread once I am sure that this issue has been addressed.

  • Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 - 4. 5 DC OS HSM

    Hello. I wonder if this sigma lens (Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 - 4.5 DC OS HSM) would take on my 70 d. Thank you!!!

    Yes, it is discontinued.   You can find them online, or may be used at some of the good reputation of the Photo shops.  If you're really lucky, you can find a new, always on the shelf somewhere.

  • How to prevent to extend on an art object group plugin

    Hello

    I'm doing a plug-in that creates an art plugin group object. If the user clicks on expand on this object, it can recover the content.

    Is there a way to prevent this?

    I don't think that there is a way to stop the user expand a group object. Why do you do this? Even if you could, the user could use the Ungroup menu item, copy - paste to a different document/application or save the file in a different format to know what was in the group.

  • ACR not not automatically recognizing objective profile for Sigma 150-600 C

    If I put the lens profile correction auto and took a shot with the Sigma C 150-600 (on any of my body Canon - SL1, 6 d, 70 d) I get a message saying 'Impossible to locate the corresponding lens automatically profile '.

    As soon as I select Sigma in the drop-down list, the right lens is selected and profile correctly applied to the image, but it's a total pain as I have to do it manually for each shot, or cover replace the car with Sigma, which throws everything if I got caught with more than one objective in a session.

    Is there something that can be done to make it recognize? CC of Photoshop and ACR are both up-to-date after the update.

    You are welcome. Thanks for the image of the sample.

    First thing I noticed is that the name of lens EXIF '150-600mm F5-6. 3 DG OS HSM | Contemporary 015 "

    In the original example images, that we received from SIGMA, the name was 150-600mm.

    Change you EXIF data using an external tool?

    If not, it may be that SIGMA has released an update of the firmware that I wasn't aware that includes an updated lens name. In any case, I can easily solve this problem and it is ready for our next release.

  • Art of reuse of another file object HAVE

    I'm developing a plugin tool that puts an object designed on the work plan whenever there is a mouse click. I am reusing the samplecode MultiArrowTools inside the SDK, and I can leave him drawn traces whenever the mouse is clicked. However, I wonder if there is a way to put the existing group art when the mouse is click. The art of existing group is in another file I.

    You can use the AIPlacedSuite to place files in the active document.

  • How can I join an AIDictionary an art object?

    What I want to do is:

    I want to store custom data to the object of art, someone told me that I can use AIDictionary. But I do not know how to reach the AIDictionary to the specific art object. Y at - it someone give me some suggestions or send me an example, thank you!

    Best regards.

    All objects of art already have dictionaries; you just need to add an entry to them. For example:

    AIDictionaryRef artDict;

    Error AIErr = sAIArt-> GetDictionary (art, & artDict);

    If (! error) {}

    sAIDictionary-> SetIntegerEntry (artDict, sAIDictionary-> ("myKey") Key, value);

    }

    sAIDictionary-> Release (artDict);

  • Correction lenses for Sigma 24 mm f/1.4 Art profile?

    The new lens of art 1.4 Sigma 24 will be here soon, and even if it is as good as its competitors, it should produce a heavy vignetting.

    No one knows when the profiles of correction in Lightroom will be released.

    Adobe does not release dates announce new profiles. You can however, except that the next minor version update after the release of the lens will give profile to LR.

  • Why would my photos, vector art, and type be blurred in my object States?

    All of a sudden, we have noticed that photo, vector art quality quality and the type used in our object state is pixelated and blurry. I don't think it was like that before, because we would have noticed it. We have published since March 2013 by using patterns. We publish in v25 and our application is v31.

    Make sure that you set the overlay to "Guide" in the control panel overlay instead of "raster".

  • Why does LR 4 not recognize objectives Sigma (NEX 7) automatically in the development module for lens corrections

    In Lightroom 4.6, "to enable lens profile" in the module development works perfectly for Sony lenses with ARW NEX (NEX-7) files.

    When I use lenses Sigma instead, nothing happens even if "enable the correction of the profile" is checked, regardless of what is defined next: Auto, custom, or default...

    I'm tired of always having to fill 3 profile of lenses (but only for Sigma lenses) questions with 1: Sigma, then 2: look for the lens to Lightroom long list of Sigma click and finally 3: hope to.

    I'm assuming that Lightroom reads the metadata (where the objectives Sigma and Sony are fully described, I checked!), but is not cooperating with Sigma, while Sony lenses work so well.

    Why is that so and how can I get good lens profile automatically if the lens has its own profile loaded Adobe?

    Frustrated...

    Why is that so and how can I get good lens profile automatically if the lens has its own profile loaded Adobe?

    Frustrated...

    Choose the correct lens manually, then click on "Save new lens default profile is the" configuration of the menu drop down. LR should hold the lens and use it as the default in the future. See screenshot below

  • The art of card not covering angles of 3-d object leaving them blank.

    I am creating a glass bottle with a cork and the 'card art' function does not work correctly. I'm a patron of Cork became a symbol and applied on the top and sides of the CAP (which looks great btw), but as you can see (barely) in the image it leaves a white outline around the edge of the front and back. Y at - it something for what I'm not yet aware of fixing? I'm still pretty new with illustrator.

    The-Deisgn-Hut-Logo.jpg

    This is not a version full screen of the bottle, so it is almost impossible to see the white line.

    Example of what I mean by "post-processing":

    Always fundamental to familiarize themselves with programs like Illustrator is to understand the basic principle that - no matter what you see on the screen - you're always dealing with instances of a base types very few objects arranged in a stack of front-to-back.

    It therefore follows that whenever you encounter behaviour it is curious, that you can discover a lot (often including the solution you are looking for) in dissecting the apparently 'special' or 'complex' objects you are dealing with, in order to understand what you are really dealing with. In Illustrator, which means tearing up things with commands like clipping mask, unlink, decaying appearance, Expand > Release, etc. etc.
