Signature of the app with the WebWorks SDK generates no COD files

Hello

I'm trying to sign my application after this documentation: https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/documentation/signing_your_smartphone_app_1919664_11.html

After running:

bbwp C:\myapp\HelloWorld.zip -g mypassword -o C:\myapp\signed

Windows (by replacing the values with mine of course), I get only a .bar file and no folders OTAInstall and StandardInstall.

Furthermore, I don't receive any email from RIM authorized signatory.

A thinking about it?

Thank you

Chris

Yes - all you need is a BAR file. Here are the instructions to sign your application BB10:

  • What is the SDK required to generate. COD files

    Hello world

    Hello

BlackBerry 10 platform does not use the .cod files, it uses the .bar files. If the WebWorks 10 BlackBerry SDK builds those. If you want to generate for the Platform Java BBOS .cod files, you will need from old tools. If you go to the site of the BlackBerry developers, you will see a series of icons of the platform along the bottom of the black banner. The BlackBerry OS it will take you to another selection where you can choose to HTML5, Java or Theme Studio. I'm including this description because there is documentation and other resources specific to these platforms there as well. You'll want to know how to get there.

You can download the tools for BBOS here: https://developer.blackberry.com/bbos/html5/download/

    Hi Martin,

The problem is that the way you run the installer is too long. Please move the installation file to a shorter path.

  • During the application of air download (COD files)

Do I have to prepare a file for each version of Blackberry, I would like to have my application runs, that is to say of cod and jad. one for 4.5, 4.6.0 4.6.1 4.7?  Or is it enough to compile for 4.5 and it will run on the whole?

    What is the best?

    It is up to you.

You can compile on 4.5 and move on all 4.5, up - but you may not be happy with the results, especially with the storm.

We are currently building for 4.2.1 4.5 and 4.7. Our download page to detect the OS level and model of the device and redirects the browser to the correct JAD file.

  • What is happening with this 'News' SDK WebWorks

This post is up to the devblog BB:

    http://devBlog.BlackBerry.com/2011/04/WebWorks-SDK-for-Tablet-OS-beta3/

However, we were already on the beta 3 since mid-March, and I see all of the files updated.

    RIM, what happens?

RIM Adam comment on this post:

This blog post took a bit longer than expected to be published, and so is coming out later than we had hoped. Sorry for any confusion. Although similar to Tim's post from a few weeks back, we wanted to take a moment to focus on the Beta3 release.

The most important thing to note is that developers are highly encouraged to rebuild and resubmit their applications to App World whenever a new version of the WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS is released. Currently this is Beta3. If you have already done this, then no action is necessary.

  • How update you an application installed with the Blackberry Storm update .cod files?

    Hello

I was sent to some application software for my Blackberry Storm 9500. I managed to install the basic software using the BB Desktop Manager normal software, however, there are four files as sitting there, that look they are there to install, update the software - records are different on different BlackBerry names "4.2.1", "4.3", "4.5" and "4.6" - my knowledge limited, I think that this refers to operating systems...

I guess I would need to install the file 4.6 .cod file, however, I just can't handle it all. The Director of the office, I can only try to update o/s handset, but I can't actually update individual applications that I see!

Can someone tell how to do this, because he's completely beat me? Be nice... I'm new!

the alx file is only a link to the file of the Cod. DM load the alx file, search for information on the cod and load the cod on the device.
In cod, it has compiled software.

Installation of OTA is similar. The jad file contains settings and links to the cod file.

The javaloader.exe (comes with the JDE) you can install cod files directly.

There is also an activeX plugin (which uses javaloader) to load the cod files on a device.

  • How to create the .cod file to run on the Simulator BB9900

Hi, I already from the zip package in order to use the bbwp command to create the .cod file and be able to run on the simulator of BB9900, but when I run this command as described in: https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/documentation/compile_ww_app_for_smartphones_1873321_11.html

It creates two files, each with a .bar file, this type of file, I can't run it on the 9900 Simulator but a .cod file is required to run applications on the sim card.

I don't know how to create the .cod file.

    Thank you

Have you used Blackberry Webworks SDK for smartphone or Tablet SDK? The .cod files should be located in the subfolder OTAInstall of your output folder if you are using the Webworks SDK for Smartphone

  • The OTA installation and large. COD files

Hi, I'm new to the Blackberry development. I am developing a small image editing app for Blackberry and planning to distribute them using my site (OTA). The problem is that my .cod file size is about 500 KB. I've searched the forums and some suggested to break large cod in several smaller files of the Cod. But exactly how do I do this? Thank you

All you need to do is open the COD file in a program like WinZip archive and extract the files.  It's just a zip of the rest of your COD files.  Note that the cod inside firstsibling file will have the same name as the parent COD file, so make sure that extract you it in a different directory.  If you use the BlackBerry Java plug-in for Eclipse, all you need to do is deploy the files in the directory JAD.

You can read a bit more info on that here: the limit file size of wireless downloads

  • Problems of the JAD and COD file

I was testing a blackberry app and it installed without any problems. I made some changes to code today and he stopped same download to the device correctly. After some digging around in the .jad file, I noticed it's all suddenly you're looking for a brother COD (NomMonProjet - 1.cod) file although this cod file is not created when I build the project. Now, I can't get the app to install at all (it works well in the emulator).

Any ideas as to why this started happening and how I can fix this problem?

Sorry guys, tried to search the forums for this and found nothing. Problem was I didn't know what to look for. I finally got the app to download and got an error 907 invalid COD . A search on that quickly gave me my answer. I added an image that made the application to big - brother COD file creation and makes it impossible to install over the air.

  • What compiler is used to make the .cod files?

What compiler is used in the development of Blackberry to make the .cod files? Is - this cap?

    Yes you are right.

CAP takes to the entry of the .java files list or a JAR file and generates a .cod file that can be loaded onto the handset BlackBerry.

  • Hyperlink to the PDF document generated by FM non - FM PDF?

Is there a way to make the FrameMaker to generate a PDF file containing a hyperlink to a PDF file generated by another program?

I use message URL appendix1.pdf = 49 #page, that works, but appendix1.pdf opens in the default browser rather than in Acrobat.

Maybe there's a Microtype utility to add this?

It occurs to me suddenly that if I create a dummy appendix1.fm and use openpage appendix1:49, FM could generate the correct link. I'll try that.

    rlauriston wrote:

I have no control over the target a PDF file. They are not all named destinations.

You can manually add the numbered page destinations in Acrobat or use Shlomo Perets Timesavers <> http://www.microtype.com/timesavers.html > to add a special type of link to a marker [~ PdfPageLink], which opens the file target on the specified page.

FM always assumes that the marker of the hypertext links that it creates are links 'Destination', not 'Page/View' type of link. You can also try to manually code these types of links in blocks of text postscript using the pdfmark syntax, but this just to prolong the agony.

As far as I KNOW, there is not a mechanism via Javascript in Acrobat to add named destinations either.  I found this tool, NameIT, Merlin <> http://www.merlin-os.co.uk/products/nameit/ > who might be able to do, but if you have to acquire something, I would say Shlomo Timesavers are more versatile for users of FM.

  • Will be the app html5 built on the emulator to ripple with BB OS SDK i 7.0, e webworks 2.3.1.5 perfectly work perfectly on BlackBerry 5.0 and 6.0 OS devcies also?

I built a html5 application with BB OS SDK 7.0 with the constructor of the ripple. IAM see it works perfectly on OS 7.0

devices where, as some loading content html, part of the problem is existing in BB 6.0 and 5.0 OS devices.

    Why is it so?

I have to build app for other OS separately?

The best answer is - not.

There is no guarantee that your application, designed for BB7, work well on older versions of the BlackBerry operating system because the web rendering engine has evolved considerably during this period.  In fact, WebKit was introduced only BB6.  Prior to this, BBOS 5.0 used a proprietery Java-based web engine that was designed to support the same web standards, but nevertheless provided a different rendering experience.

Devs who intend to support the old software BBOS are strongly encouraged to test their applications on these platforms, rather than assuming it will work.

  • Signature for Apple failed with the new App Builder

    Hello

I created a new application (simple editing creative cloud) with the new version of App Builder and I spend more than 4 hours trying to get my certificate to work.

I think I know what I need to do to create the certificate and p12 files because I have already published a lot of apps with DPS for different identifiers Apple at Apple.

But this time it does not work. I did all the procedure has several times from the first step. But in all cases the signature will fail.

Is anyone else having this problem? This could be a bug in the App generator?

After changing the name of the article in "startingpage_h" everything worked fine. Don't know why
