  MY MACHINE WORKED CONTINUOUSLY FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS.

  STUCK IN THE MODE OF STARTUP REPAIR.

  WHEN I HIT THE "CANCEL" BUTTON, I GET THE MESSAGE:

  "The repair operation cannot be cancelled.

  How long should I make it work?  Or should I thow attention for wind & pull the plug?

  Unfortunately you still cannot run chkdsk on the drive operating system without re-booting, but be able to start in

  Safe mode may allow other troubleshooting procedures to take.

  Even being able to restart successfully in Windows Start\Shutdown options could help. Assuming that the HARD drive is

  not in default.

  -There may be another way to complete the audit, but as far as I know of is to boot in another operating system from a different HARD drive.
  One of the Linux OS are sometimes recommended and can be run from a bootable USB key
  (I have never tried this, so can't give details).
  With the machine running on another OS, you can run chkdsk on the problem of HARD drive without having to reboot.

  Another option to start-up (F8) is worth a visit-
  -In the display boot options, select the option - "last know good configuration" (or a similar phrase).

  -There's also a possibility the Master Boot Record is damaged. If you have a Win7 installation disc you can

  I have the same problem with Indesign, but not with the first where I can drag and drop, drag to prune, drag the elements, clips, etc.

  In photoshop I can click and drag in the layer order resort or to crop an image, etc., but after a few seconds, these functions do not work, and nothing happens at all when you click to drag. Layers are not locked, this happens with any project, no image, no matter if I open the program as an administrator or not. It is a Windows 10 computer and I'm on their beta program, but drag and drop works fine in windows/creation/other applications.

  You did not include the version of your operating system: Windows 7 I guess because you have been deported back to a very early version of the HP SimplePass.

  You must consider that you may have a version of your fingerprint driver that is appropriate (fairly recent) to run a newer version of HP SimplePass.  The fact that the old version SimplePass does not at all suggests that you run the version of the driver 4.3.118.0 - this version of the driver is not compatible with subsequent revisions of the SimplePass software.

  What a PSU or of the motherboard problem or some other problem? Hope it can be fixed.

  A flashing orange power LED, usually indicates a power supply problem power, given the age of the Dimension 9200, which is highly likely.

  Try to replace the power supply with a power supply of labour "Known", to see if that makes a difference.

  This system does not use an exclusive power of Dell, you can install most power supply ATX with a power connector 24 pin or 20 + 4 pin main motherboard and this can be purchased in most local computer stores, or online.

  The 9200 has a rear panel open, a diet with or without the on/off switch can be installed.

  Note: You need a PSU with six SATA power connectors.
