Sims 2 on windows 8 :)

Hello, I have a big problem with the Sims 2 and Windows 8. I recently got a laptop Gateway 64 bit of Windows 8. Being a big fan of the Sims 2, I wanted to install. I started by installing the base game, then I installed my extra drives so, as it was recommended. University, nightlife, animals, seasons, etc. But when I get to install Bon Voyage, free neighborhood and apartment living, the installation is done very well. However, when I click on the shortcut on the desktop to play, I see the launcher and before I can click on 'Play', a message pops up saying: The Sims 2 Launcher has stopped working. And then it stops. The game worked fine when there was only the first four installed, but the last three, those who have launchers, does not work. And I tried all the possible solutions. I changed the compatibility, I bypassed the Launcher, I downloaded the patches for each additional discs, I tried clicklin play before the message appears, installation somewhere else... I am absolutely desperate because I spent a lot of money in my collection as Sims 2 and I really want to make it work. Please answer me with a solution that will work, or even ideas for alternatives to try, I'd do anything!.
Thank you!

So if anyone still has problems, I realized something that took me hours and I'd love to share. I downloaded each game in order, check the comparability with each game. So I would like to install a game, and then load the game, if it does not work, I change the comparability until it worked and then move on to the next part.

It worked until I came to the first Sims 2 game that has the Sims 2 Launcher - similar to that used with all Sims 3 games. It is a window that opens and you select the game. All prior games just load the game without a doubt. For me, this happened with Open For Business. I have right, clicks on the icon for this game, clicked on properties, went to the tab shortcut, and then click on "Open file location". If you click Bin TS, there is a part called "Sims2SP7" with the number after P will change according to what pack stuff / expansion pack you will work. Mine is being open for Collection of Business, not just a regular. So if you right click, select properties and copy the link of the location of this file, you want to return to the tab of original properties, and beyond that in the target. Then click on apply and OK.

It will be through the Launcher of the Sims 2 and go directly to the game, which was causing problems. If you need to set the mode of comparability, I find that XP SP3 works best.

I hope this helps<>

What is your game - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?l=en-us&type=Software&s=sims%203&os=32-bit - if so apparently IT must run.

  • Games Sims 3 Deluxe - Windows 7

Can Sims 3 Deluxe to run on Windows 7?

Also all the Myst games work on Windows 7? I heard that only the 10th Anniversary Collection Myst and Myst 4 will run on Windows 7.   I feel that a lot of games does not say on the back of their box of which they run on Windows 7. Many games say they are running on Windows XP and Windows Vista (epecially the newer games). Help, please! Hope someone can answer my questions.

If this is the correct game (I think it's) apparently Yes - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?l=en-us&type=Software&s=sims%203%20deluxe&os=32-bit - according to compatibility W7 Ms. It seems to be OK for 32 and 64 bit as well.

You can enter and search for the title of all the other games on the same site and see which are listed there for them.

  • Problems with Sims 3, iTunes, Windows 7, and shortcuts :/

Recently I installed the Sims 3 World Adventures... I never had the chance to play because he went all funny :/ In any case, I've uninstalled it, but all me shortcuts from desktop and my shortcuts on the start menu still had the logo of the Sims 3... Whenever I pressed one of them it redirected to the Launcher. So logically, I uninstalled the Sims 3 (original game). All my shortcuts have become the white rectangles... They are now all the iTunes logo because it was the first thing that I opened. He said he did not know what program to use to open the shortcut so I chose iTunes, now they are all like that. I can't uninstall iTunes, there are too many important things about it... What should I do? :(

  • Something wrong with my Sims 3 on Windows 8...

I'm having this problem with my new computer, an HP all-in-one with Windows 8 or 8.1, where whenever I try to start my Sims 3 game, it brings me to the install window. For this reason, I can't play Sims 3 or supernatural expansion, that I bought for her. I tried to use the "Sims3setup.exe", but it does not work. I downloaded origin actually begins to top/downloaded the game but instead, a window pops up saying that I have to use a different directory to download it, which is strange... I click the autorun and a window pops up saying: the certification of the aircraft is not valid. I don't really know what to do... Help, please!

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community. Don't worry, I will help you on that.

Do you have an antivirus installed on the computer?

I suggest you to check the boot problem. It helps the computer to start Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This way we can know if any other program third is causing the problem or not. You can see the article mentioned below.
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: refer to the section 'How to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to start the computer normally.

If the problem still persists, then uninstall and reinstall the game, because the problem may occur if the files are corrupt.

If you encounter a problem during the installation of the game, then temporarily disable UAC and then try to install the game. See the following steps to do this:

    1. Press Windows + X, type Control Panel, and then click Ok.
    2. Now in the search, type user account control and click on change user account control settings.
    3. Now turn it off, then check the issue.

Note: User Account Control (UAC) can help you to prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. It works by asking permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings affecting other users. We do not recommend disable user account control. If you turn it off, you must reactivate as soon as possible.

I hope this helps. If not, please write to us, so that we can help you further if necessary.

  • Sims medieval is not compatible with Windows 8?

I just installed Sims Medieval on Windows 8.  The installation went well.  When I try to run since the start of the game screen, it seems that nothing happens.  I checked the Task Manager and the game runs in the background, rather than run as an application.  Someone knows how to do so that it can function as an application?

I just discovered that Sims Medieval will play on Windows 8 as long as you do not install the hotfix.  Just play the basic game as installed on disk.  I don't understand, but it works.

  • Sims 2 does not work in Windows 8

Get Windows 8 pro 64 bit. Wizard upgrade of Ran and he said that some of the expansion packs (and the base game) are not compatible. Is there a way to get an update or something to help?

Well I just installed Sims 2 on Windows 8 and despite warnings of incompatibility, I opted to start anyway. He threw very well and the woman had just had a solid 1.5 hours of gameplay without a hitch, so even though it is not officially supported at least my Setup seems to work quite OK.

you are able to install updates and expansions?

  • Download a game with Windows 98 / XP on a Windows Vista

I have a complete Collection of The Sims, which requires windows 98/XP but my computer is Windows Vista. I tried to go into the program and change the properties and that it can work. The problem is that I don't find the place to change the properties. I do not understand how to solve the problem, I can't even download the program at all the error keeps coming back.

    Hello msp9676

If I understand well you have not yet installed the Sims.

In this case put the disk in your computer, click Start-> computer, then make a right click on your DVD drive and select "Open" from the menu.  This will show you all the files on the disc.  There will probably be a program out there called Setup.  Right click on that and select Properties, in the new window that appears, click compatibility at the top and make the changes.  There is a video of this here: http://www.windowsresource.net/xp/videos/compatibilityinstall.wmv

  • FSX can run fine on Windows 8, but now does not - install crashes with 1722

    To the right,.

I have a HUGE problem with reinstalling Flight Sim X on Windows 8.  When I installed it first, it ran fine, until one day he crashed it so bad that it would not even close or uninstall properly - I had update my system just to remove it.  Now, I am trying to reinstall it, but it won't reinstall - the installation program runs in a first time, but when it comes to registration of fonts, it crashes with a 1722 followed of a 1603.  I already tried to use licensing reset tool http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928080, but it does not work either!  What should I do?  Thanks in advance!

Just to be sure: you confirm that you have opened the CMD console in administrator mode to run the resetsldl command?

  • Fs9 not opening - identified problem but need help repair

I want to thank you in advance for your time. I am trying to install and play flight sim 2004 on windows 7 - a x 64 sys - and when I open fs9.exe splash screen or anything really fails to display.

I think that is the problem, is that there is no record of FS9, under the %appdata%\Windows\ that basically, I need help trying to solve. Is there anything I can download to replace this file? Or am I just looking in the wrong place.

Also, I installed it in a different directory, not the directory Program Files (x 86) but rather just C:\FlightSim\

    Hi Jordan,.

The game does not appear to be installed according to the description of your problem.

I suggest you log in as administrator or right click on fs9.exe file and run as administrator.

I think that this is precisely the reason why the FS9 folder does not appear in c:\users\explore \appdata\local\Microsoft\windows\game.

If this does not work, I suggest that you look into other aspects as well. Follow the steps below.

    Method 1:

Update display drivers . The flash on the screen could also be because the display drivers are not updated. I would recommend you visit the manufacturer, download and install the latest display drivers for windows 7.

    Method 2:

I suggest to disable UAC and then try to install the game.

Note: User Account Control (UAC) can help prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. UAC notifies you when changes will be made to your computer that require administrator-level permissions. These types of changes can affect the security of your computer or can affect settings for other people who use the computer. We recommend that you leave UAC to help your computer course.

    Method 3:

Temporarily disable all security software and try to install.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

If the problem persists, then I suggest that you post the question in the Microsoft Flight Simulator Games Forum for further assistance.

When I play the sims 2 on windows xp, you can see that a quarter of the screen and plays the game in full screen behind bars. I tried to change the resolution, but nothing works and you can not our association in the game options menu because you can not see. Please quick help

You can simply be low on memory, more power cpu as well.

for the most part, adding a graphics card to the motherboard will give the computer the extra to play games power.

If go shopping for graphics cards, make sure that you first figure out what type / style of Board slots are provided on the motherboard.

  • 421SO HP G61: stuck at the blue login screen

    Hello.

I have a problem with my laptop, a model of 421SO G61, and the question is showed in a Youtube video.

    Link: https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=Y7FIDt9SonQ

The problem occurred after that I left my cousin played the Sims 4. She said that after she closed the Sims 4, a window appears and it has clicked away and stop the laptop. The next day I started it and it got stuck on the screen that is shown in the video. She unfortunately can't remember what has shown the window pop up.

I tried to reset hard, leaving the rest of the laptop computer for 24 hours to reset the BIOS settings and to test (who first succeeded and only shows not all errors) and leave it on for 1 hour + to try to let it load.

I have a theory that the hard drive is ruin or the operating system does not sort properly load.

As I can't access the hard drive and the data in it, how this issue can be fixed without losing all the data important and meaningful; for example images?

    Thank you!
