• Coding - returns the number of characters in a text box.

  I am trying to create an animation/simulation of cellular phone on board animate CC for use in a course of Captivate. In fact, when a user clicks on the number keys on the virtual keyboard, it displays the numbers in a text box, just as a real cell phone will display the phone number on the screen as a caller to connect. Thus, the user must click seven buttons and a seven-digit phone number is displayed on the screen of the virtual phone.  This part of my animation works fine and all seven digits appear, but I want to change the code so that a hyphen appears after that the third button clicked. In this way, the output looks like better a phone number instead of just a string of seven digits.

  Here is an example of the code that I currently assigned to the #2 in the virtual keyboard button:

  PhoneNum is the name of my text box on the stage where the numbers appear as a click is performed on every key on the keyboard.

  Anyone know how I can use JavaScript or jQuery to return the number of characters currently in the text box PhoneNum ?

• Erasure of the text boxes on the review

  I use CP5 and have an exercise where users must enter text in the text entry boxes.  I set up text boxes do not validate user input and does not text.  Once the simulation is complete, I added a "review sample" button that uses an action forward to return to the same blade.  What I've noticed, is that the text in the first text in the text entry box.  However, if I go back a high screen and completely re - enter the slide, the text disappears.  Is it possible to erase the text if you restart a slide?

  Think I have a solution. I read somewhere (but can't explain) who can "go to...". "jump to the second image of a slide, instead of the first image. And your first entry text box is sitting on the first image. It is what explains why I started looking for playing time. That's what I did (I'll use your ID's of different objects on slide 2, would have been easier if you had marked them - I'm a monster labelling, see the blog a few reasons for labelling...):

  • Report Text_Entry_Box_6 from 0.1 s (user does not see that), but because of the time, had to repeat this for
  • Text_Entry_Box_7 to start at 0, 1 second later and
  • Text_Entry_Box_8 to start at 0, 1 second later and
  • Click_Box_68 start at 0, 1 second later (if you want to be perfect timing, Text_Caption_326, Text_Caption_156 and Image_194
  • _Caption_155 text should remain 0, 1 sec longer (because the user needs to see it until a break from Text_Entry_Box_8)

  I have a form that the user is required to fill out. When the user tries to advance to the next slide, I would test to check that none of the text boxes are empty.

  Ideally something like;

  If ((Textbox1) == null) {}

  See the legend of failure

  } else {}

  continue

  }

  I know you can use advanced actions but I'm unable to set the null value. I even tried to create a new variable and leave empty and tests textbox against that, but apparently not worked either.

  I'm probably missing something simple as I am very new to Captivate.

  Is it possible to submit the code of the advances in stocks using AS?

  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  The user must enter his name.

  I preset the variable of the text using the feature box "what would happen if you reach this slide." You can find it if you double-click the slide with your text box, and then find the area of "navigation". I have a German version of the A4 the names of functions differ...

  Declare the variable of your text box we'll say "ABC123".

  With a collateral action, you can check if the text inside the variable passed as ABC123 to something else:

  If

  variable_name is not equal to ABC123

  then

  ...

  on the other

  ...

  If the variable is always ABC123 I jump to another slide with an error message.

  When using the text boxes in Captivate 2 (called "Textbeschriftung" in my German version) with the model/design [transparent] produces a fuzzy search text in the exported sequence. It looks a bit like in Flash when you use anti-aliasing.
  When I use for example the model normal "red adobe", the text retains crisp and clear.
  Someone has a tip how to get net text with the transparent text box?

  I have a new iMac dating a week who continues to appear in the text box for the accents and resumes typing (slowly). Support contacted today, they don't know, reset pram or something, no change. I have to restart the iMac to clean so I can type, takes about 10 minutes.

• the pages for iOS - how to resize a text box and forms manually

  I added text boxes to my sheet. However, I can't get close to the size I want, which is not noticeable to someone else, but I wish they were accurate.

  example: I want to 1inchx4inch. but now the box and adjusting the size I can get 1.02x3.98. 99x4.01, etc.

  I know it still looks the same as the sizes are extremely close, but if there was a way t adjust by entering the desired size that I would rather do.

  If it is a file that you edit on your Mac you can certainly do here in the Inspector.

  If you are only in iOS with this you can try zooming in - you can have more control over it.

  When you use pages any image or text box 'disappears' or moves if an another image/text is placed too close however to Keynote when it isn't a problem. This function can be disabled?

  Select the two text boxes and tab organize, assign automatic voice against zero dressing. Now, these two items are more questions of mutual polarity, and the boxes don't repel each other. It is a parameter object, and not an application setting permanent.

• Text box has no wordwrap on developer eddition?

  I use the FF deveooper (such as the debugger FYI) edition but I have a problem now.

  Since the upgrade today, text boxes in some of the forums I visit is no longer have wordwrap in them. I checked the settings and can not find them. I also searched the topic: config and not got anywhere. I saw two var there.

  Anyone got a clue?

  You can click on the right than the text box and open the Inspector to see if there is a such envelope this rule and if not add it, and possibly use the userContent.css file to define such a rule.

  I'm not sure to understand what happens when the text inline boxes are dragged - I have 6 on a page that are the width of the page but different heights and I would like to re - order them so they mix it up or down depending on where I drag them, but at the moment they go to the bottom of the page or disappear completely I can't work on the behavior.

  Select each text box and if you use v5 Pages, visit the reorder menu and text wrapping set to None. Now, the text box are not repellent, and you can position them as you please. If you always use the Pages ' 09 and then again, select each text box and the Wrap Inspector, deselect object causes wrap.
