jpgs in Windows 7

My copy of Windows 7 Professional does not seem to know what a jpg file.  If I try to open an it asks me what program to use to open it, but do not check the box "always use this program".  If I try to set up the association via Control Panel, there a .jpg in the list of file extensions.  It's stupid as .jpg should be on the most frequently used picture format.  He knows .jpeg and .jpe, but those who use it?

Can how, please I set up a default program to display .jpg files?

Thank you...

Hi Peter,.

To restore the default Windows 7 registry entries and program of the .jpg extension associations, please see here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html

I hope this helps.

See you soon,.

  • How can I get Thunderbird opening .jpg in Windows Picture Viewer?

When I use Windows Live Mail and click on a jpg attachment to an e-mail, it is opened in Windows Live Mail. When I try this with Thunderbird, nothing happens. The Tools-Options-spare part in Thunderbird tab shows nothing by entering 'content type' or 'action '. How can I set Windows default viewer for that?

Hi Matt, thanks for responding, but things seem to have set themselves right now. Before that when you click on an attachment jpg at the bottom of the email, nothing happens, but now it opens in the Windows image viewer.

  • How to convert pdf jpg with Windows 2010 photos photos?

I have an Epson V500 scanner with which I scanned several photos as pdf files because someone told me that the jpgs lose quality if they are to be opened several times. Now trying to print copies, I find that in the jpg photo printing little quality is superior to pdf photos. I have Paint Shop to use the jpg and Photo Shop 9 for the pdf files. I really do not have to buy new software to perform the conversion. Surely, there is something available through Microsoft to do this. Thank you. HD

You probably mean that you have Microsoft Office 2010.

You probably also have Adobe Photoshop elements 9 rather than Adobe Photoshop (which is much more expensive).  It's too bad, because Adobe Photoshop can do what you want.

Images will be open in everything I tried.  Something about a permissions problem.

Any ideas on what I could have done wrong or how to fix the permissions problem, so I can see my photos?

Click on the photos (you can select/highlight all and do it once for each of them at the same time) and go to properties.  On the Security tab, click Advanced, and then change the "owner" for your user account (search in the options that appear).

After you set the owner, click OK until all boxes are saved/closed.  Return to properties again and this time, set yourself to have "total control" on the files. Now you should be able to open and use.

  • Import XML Path to the files on the shared drive windows on Mac?

Hi, I am looking to configure our xml file that will be imported in InDesign on MAC to point to a folder image shared on our windows network.  I can connect a drive and get to them manually but not sure of the path of reference href xml in the xml file.

Here is the part of the xml file with a link that works when you point to the applications folder on a MAC but first pointing (href = "file:///app1/updates/2,jpg") network windows does not work.  Tried different variations, but can't seem to get.  When run script, she invites to indicate the file and only open the updates folder itself then when select file manually, it does not matter, but want it to just "automatic formatting".

    The Windows Server name: APP1

  • Satellite L300 - what tools can I remove from my Vista

    Hello.

I just got this new laptop series Satellite L300/300 d and have been told that it come with a lot of bloatware.
I have uninstalled those who are obviousley no good for me.

I did a lot of research to learn more about these programs, but I'm always a bit hesitant, if I need it or not.

Here is an overview of most of the time that I find myself with, its mostly the toshiba that I think I do not need, but someone can advis me on these

    Windows vista edition Home premium

    Hello

Most of the software and applications that are preinstalled on your laptop controls a Notepad function.
So if I would be so I let all the tools/software Toshiba on the laptop, but I would like to delete a few 3rd party software, for example:
    -Sony Ericson Media Manager
    -Picassa2
    -My photo book

Of course you can remove other parts, but you shouldn't wonder if some of the features of the laptop would not work.

  • Is your system reserved Partition a drive C?

    Hello

    (Which happened to me)
I advise you to use a window for this xp CD. Your steps to install Windows xp but I find it easy to this because the lay out is clear and is easier to understand. And also I have tried with an CD of window Xp (Service Pack 3)
I don't know if anyone else has know how to solve this problem... but I don't

Done included formatting of your driver if I were you I'd do a Back up... you can always make a new partition called back up and save all of your stuff...

Heres how to make Partition * I do not own the video *.

    For Windows Vista and 7:
    For Windows Xp:
I've seen a lot of questions * not on this site but others * saying that they got an extra driver called a System reserved? If this is the case, many people * including me * was going to re install this than ever operating system * mainly window 7 * they had. If you did that most of the people who notice they drive Local letter had changed and probably F * my local drive letter has changed from being a C and a D * and also that system reserved Partition had never removed...
In this forum, I am showing you how to make your Local drive letter to C...
If this happened to you, it may take some time until what you discover the problem. If your installation of something, such as a game or a driver * especially printer * it would give you an error saying you need to install that either the driver you want to install on this C driver. But the thing is... that C is your reserved system driver. You can't install anything on this Partition, because to guess the name of this Partition its your thing system reserved. * I don't have any idea what it does * Heres how to solve your problem!
    Pop in your Windows CD...
    Go on your installation
    For Windows XP:
Your screen should look like this once it load programs
It doesn't have to be a partition... In this case they probably two riders, but all we need is this reserved system and drive Local...
Now, go to your system reserved... Make sure that this white bar is on...
Now, press D and delete this partition...
After you have removed it you will now need to format your Local drive * knowing you your files to be supported upward or don't need them *...
Now you must create the partition by pressing C and following the instructions on the screen
After this time you want to install Windows xp, its up to you, if it is to take the Cd and put it in the operating system you want to install...
    For Windows Vista, 7
Your screen should look like this
    Window 7
    Window Vista
    ?hl=en&biw=1366&bih=677&tbm=isch&tbnid=CXBJodfLFbuDoM:&imgrefurl=http://www.extension.iastate.edu/it/support/vista/install.htm&docid=-Sy62vYE43NXgM&imgurl=http://www.extension.iastate.edu/NR/rdonlyres/F76E3CC5-FFC8-4525-8FDF-15749569A94C/53185/03format75.jpg&w=602&h=452&ei=AkpVUP9F6KXRBemogcgK&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=880&vpy=219&dur=171&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=183&ty=76&sig=116139560859664477618&page=1&tbnh=150&tbnw=200&start=0&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:8,s:0,i:95
    * Windows Vista and Windows 7 are the same *.
Now you have the driver (Advanced) Options
You click on system reserved Partition and click clear, you should be able to remove it, if it isn't a copy of Windows xp and what to do since they...
After that you have to do the same thing... format your main driver...
    There you go!
    Hope this has helped!
